eggzlot
Thinking if dusting off the p touch label maker and cleaning up my rack what cartridge is most popular? what’s preferred - making a flag or putting the label on the cable flat? ILoveC4
Write on the jacket with a fine tip Sharpie. That’s my method (after eventually just having a pile of labels on the ground).

Thepritch88
I use a Dymo label maker but their flexible nylon cartridges are awesome for using on cables, I've never seen one unpeel and fall off.
LollerAgent
I use these labels with my Brady BM21-Plus label maker: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003XU7T4E/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They work great for all cables in my rack. The labels are a bit expensive, but you find generic alternatives on Amazon for much cheaper. sonic30101

shag
I use a Panduit LS8E with the S100X150VAC cartridge. Not the cheapest option, but by far the cleanest I've found for wire labeling.

RGBlake
Anyone have suggestions for a printer & nylon that has black labels with white text? I think it would look cleaner on black 16/4.

Thepritch88
Dymo rhino 5200, different tape sizes, colours and materials available, 12mm wide, black on white, flexible nylon are my go to, I’ve never seen them fall off or fade over time, comes with a great hard case for when you take it on site too
zaphod
What I ended up getting was tie wraps with spots for labels, like these, and I used my regular label maker to make labels.

We use similar products when second fixing jobs and sorting out all the cabling bundles at the head end, that way when we cut the cables back to the desired length we just slide the label up and do not need to relabel it. Once all cables are fully terminated in the rack we then use our Dymo Rhino to do proper cable wrap labels.
Matt Lowe
If you have legible hand writing I like to use white heat shrink.
