Chris C
Hi, Building a new house and our doors are all using multi-point locks. I am having trouble finding a smart lock solution for multi-point locks. Does anyone know of a satisfactory solution? If I can't find a smart lock can I utilize some type of pin or door strike to give me keyless entry? Our previous house had keyless entry and I don't know that I can go back now. Thanks in advance. anon2828
I've researched extensively. There are a couple of companies (mostly from Europe) that have an August lookalike lock that will work with some mortise style locks, but nothing I could find for multi-point (which is sort of a hybrid of mortise). I've had multi-point locks in the past and cannot imagine any electric smart lock (consumer grade) that would even have the torque to turn one, those can barely turn a single cylinder deadbolt when it is perfectly lubricated and aligned. D.Adams
I believe i saw one from Yale integrated to Control4 but yes mostly used and available in UK and by UK C4 dealers
bdo21
I used the multipoint lock below in a front door and also installed an ekey fingerprint reader (and a DS2). The ekey system is connected to the lock, there is an ekey driver for Control4 and I also have my EA5 connected to the lock. This allows the following: 1) family to unlock the door with their finger 2) we have an unlock button in C4 which gives us the ability to unlock the door from a touchscreen/phone when someone rings the DS2 3) trigger other C4 events from ekey (e.g. notifications when someone comes home or if someone uses a specific finger on the fingerprint reader, it opens the garage door, etc.) Lock: https://www.abloy.com/en/abloy/abloycom/products/product-catalogue/electric-locks/europrofile-range-abloy-certa-motor-locks/small-business/electric-lock-mp518/ ekey: https://www.ekey.net/

bdo21
Sorry - this is the updated version of the lock: https://www.abloy.co.uk/en/abloy/abloy-co-uk/products-mpc/electric-locks/motor-locks/standard-stile/mp520-push--pull-function-multipoint-lock-case-for-solid-doors/The lock just takes an electrical pulse to unlock so both the relay output of the ekey system and the EA5 can send an electrical pulse down the same cable to the lock. So all you need is a relay connection to EA5, this is
Chris C
Thanks everyone for the replies. The solution @bdo21 has mentioned sounds promising. I going to dig into this a little more. My dealer also mentioned using some type of PIN solution that would be opened closed through an electrical charge. Sounds more like a commercial application but he said it was very discrete and would not be noticeable.
J to the D
I wanted this solution so went with Yale as my dealer had this integrated in their demo room. It turned out Yale updated their locks and removed the ability to have pin code entry. The new multipoint lock is now the Conexis L1. Unfortunately this model is not supported with Control4 and I am yet to find a way to get it to work. Very frustrating.
Chris C
What are some other options for controlled access and C4 in a residential install?
Cyknight
Beyond the default locks, and a handful of 3rd party drivers (August locks for one, which is free) there's always the option of using any lock that can be controlled via a relay. Beyond that, 3rd party 'hubs' that can control other locks are available too. Wink (but they're dying and now charging monthly) Vivint (but it's Vivint) Vera (a long time trouble child though) Somne security system can be intragrated with lock control as well (not particularly familiar so can't comment)
ERDrPC
It's 2024 - any updates for a c4 multi-point lock?

There's little out there for smart multipoint locks to begin with. If there's a zwave one then it could get integrated (provided you have a Core controller) but I've been monitoring it to a degree and there's just not much out there to begin with, let alone something that is currently able to integrate. Tony H
We have a Jeld Wen door that has a 3 way door lock. Is there a lock that is compatible with Control 4?

No, not in the US that I’ve found. There’s a Yale Conexis that works for multipoint but it’s not available in the US. I managed to buy one online but the app won’t let you add it outside the intended market (Europe I think). Very frustrating.

I see them in the US site now listed for Anderson swing doors. https://shopyalehome.com/collections/patio-door-locks

If anyone tries it, report back. I just tried the Conexis two months ago so that’s still not supported.
SageBP
Have any of you looked at the Yale Assure for the Multipoint patio doors? https://shopyalehome.com/collections/patio-door-locks/products/assure-lock-for-andersen-patio-doors-with-wi-fi-and-bluetooth?variant=39337803710596
