Ceiling Fan Integration

We are looking to install a ceiling fan in our bedroom.  It seems most ceiling fans have their own proprietary hard wired wall control.

1) What is the best way to integrate a fan into Control4, when the control4 switch cannot be used?

2) Does anyone know of any ceiling fans that are control4 ready for easy integration?

Bond.

Do I need bond bridge or bond bridge pro?  Is any other hardware required?  Can I use one bond bridge to service the whole house (up to 2500sf)?  I’ll I require any other hardware?  Is there a bond bridge control4 driver? If there is a driver, is it free or does it need to be purchased?

Big Ass Fans.. Honestly, since we launched the V2 driver months ago, we haven't had any bug reports (and part of this is thanks to BAF too).  Its one of our most solid drivers, and it has a huge level of customization via variables (and if something is missing, happy to add it) .

As an alternative,  you could also look at fans for Bond (as previously mentioned by someone else).

If you haven't bought a fan then "Smart By Bond" compatible fans has everything you need built into the fan.  No need for a Bond Bridge.

Also Andrew's suggestion of Big Ass Fans is a fantastic suggestion.  It is a higher quality fan (probably the higest) but comes at a higher price tag.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions.  If I wanted to by a fan that is not "smart enabled" would a single BOND BRIDGE be sufficient to control the 1 device?

Does C4 have a driver for bond bridge or is the Chowmain driver the only one available to provide Control4 integration?  Fans are very specific, so I don't mind paying for the driver which would allow us to get whatever fan we want.

Is there any way to check device compatibility via their website (https://bondhome.io/supported-devices/) before actually having the remote in my hand to check the FCC ID?

One bond bridge is fine. But please understand that if you go the bond route you don't get too wave feedback. So you won't have full integration. The only driver is the paid chowmain driver

Understood.  I have somfy blinds that work the same way (no two way communication) so I am comfortable with this.

Any idea how I could get the remotes FCC ID prior to purchase?

I used a single Bond Bridge for 9 fans that came with my house (7100 sq ft) and had standard universal remotes so automation was a retrofit. No two way feedback as others mentioned, but while integrated with C4 I control them usually with Alexa voice commands. So I don’t really pay attention to their state in the C4 app as much as I do just visually when I’m in the room. Bond Bridge is super solid. Never have had and issue or at least that I can remember.

I have three Modern Form Fans and going to buy another.  As stated, they are incredibly quiet.  Occasionally you can find them on sale on Amazon.

Just ordered one today (Ultra Germicidal Smart Ceiling Fan). Let’s see how it goes…

For anyone looking at the above, I did attempt to use a Bond Bridge with a Haiku fan (BAFs), that did not work out well. The IR blaster only worked when within a 3ft proximity of the fan.

Im still seeking a solution for Josh.ai and C4 integration atm.

I'm sure I'm missing something, but I'm not even sure why you would be trying to use a BAF over IR?

G'day,

Just to confirm, does your Haiku not have wifi control? (does it work from the Big Ass Fans/ Haiku app on phone?)
