I reached out to the developer of the Zank-App:

There is indeed a change in setting this up- not the "USB debug" has to be activated but the "Network debug".

Works like a charm! By the way Alan: very nice driver and quite responsive too!

One more question: Is there a mini-app for Kodi? There isn´t one in the driver - pack...

I am not sure if Kodi works as Zank only opens apps with MainActivity as its intent.  If it works using the Apps driver then you can make your own using the Favorites driver.  That driver allows you to launch custom apps.

I will be hoping to trial this driver with the Epico Google TV box from my cable company.

    https://www.androidtv-guide.com/pay-tv-provider/cogeco-epico-v2/

Does the drive allow numbered channel input? ie press 1-2-3 to get to channel 123?

The driver sends ascii numbers out (same as pressing numbers on your keyboard).  It may or may not work with your particular cable box depending on how the manufacturer implemented channel browsing.

All of our drivers come with a 90 day trial so highly recommend you test out the driver prior to licence purchase.

Is it possible that the "USB Debug" somehow broke on the latest Nvidia Shields? I enable it and get a message not seen in the tutorial video. Also, the app wont ask for permissions but stay in "watch tutorial"...

We haven't had any feedback about that.  Its a pretty popular driver so if something broke we'd get inundated with support requests.

You can reach out to our support desk for assistance via link below.

I just want to confirm that all information to and from the hub happens via the cloud, so once configured, codes will work as stored; however any programming against on user x unlock do y, will not work without the cloud connection? Does this all sound about right.

Yes the driver requires internet connectivity for that type of programming.

Note though if you use the driver to change codes the codes are stored in the lock itself so if you do lose internet or mains power the codes will still open the door.  It will just not operate any automation tasks that you have programmed against the user.

    Hope that answers your question

    Hi

100% I've tested it and thats what happens when I touch the wires it does motion -> stop -> reverse motion otherwise I wouldn't have an issue if it was just toggle

Sounds like a standard garage door toggle to me.  Wait until the door is fully open or fully closed before testing again and it should skip the stop.

Standard garage door driver is what you want as it allows for toggle control and magnetic reed feedback.

i feel like i'm missing something stupid with this and i need it sorted as i have a few customers on Uniview wanting control4 integration.

I get that, but with the PCI I have currently (5500PCU), I wonder if there is a way to convert the USB port it has, to a Serial Port.

Maybe I’ll try the CBUS forums for advice.

    thanks for reply anyway.

You won't be able to do that.  You should keep using the USB PC Interface for programming of C-Bus systems however you won't be able to use it for integration.

  8. 5 hours ago, hank31980 said:

Hi there, I am definitely interested in this driver, as I have a couple of customers with Clipsal C-Bus lighting systems, who also have Control4 systems, but not yet hooked up.

I have purchased a Clipsal PCI, but it has a USB port and I wonder if I should have bought the one with a 9 pin D-type serial connector as I’m not sure how to link the USB port of the PCI to a Control4 controller.

can you help on this hardware question?

    hank31980

You cannot connect the USB port to Control4.

    Hardware requirements listed here.

    https://chowmain.software/drivers/control4-cbus#faq

Note we recommend utilising the Clipsal Network Automation Controller (5500NAC) if possible as that will provide the best experience.  After that Clipsal Network Interface (CNI) is our recommendation.  Both of these are ethernet based.

  9. Here are the fireplace drivers we have

We also had developed one for the DaVinci fireplaces however we removed it from our website due to the manufacturer not supporting the integration.

As @Cyknight mentions certain fireplaces that are controlled by RF can be controlled via our Bond Bridge driver - https://chowmain.software/drivers/control4-rinnai-ls-fireplace

  10. DRIVER REWRITE

Chowmain launches new Hikvision driver suite for Control4. Beginning with O.S. 3.4.0, camera drivers have the ability to distribute audio to devices running Navigator. Our newly written Hikvision IP camera driver implements this for cameras with microphones.

The development of advanced versions of the Camera and NVR drivers was prompted by a need for enhanced performance and reliability. These advanced drivers represent a substantial rewrite of the original ones and come with several key improvements. Most notably, they now support Digest authentication, which significantly streamlines the setup process and ensures more dependable operation.

In addition to this, the advanced drivers feature a set of diagnostic tests accessible via Actions > Display Diagnostics. These tests offer valuable feedback to dealers, helping them identify and address any necessary adjustments in the driver or hardware, ultimately contributing to a smoother and more efficient integration process.

As a side note: them removing IP control on their high end equipment is a little insane..... perhaps there's a back door using android TV driver or even IRSUB from video storm?

Nope neither do input switching or power control.

They are not the first projector company to not provide control over android tv based projectors.

Might be something to do with the chipset they are using.  Though usually it's a seperate chip for the android tv MCU.

This model removed the LAN and RS232 ports.  There is an IR receiver, but I cannot find any code sets online, even the Harmony groups were having trouble with this one.

This C4forum post from May was the only one I could find.  Is there anyone with a working driver for this?

    Thanks!

    Neil

I wrote a document years ago on how to find IR codes that are within the same IR frequency range.  This helps to find secret codes that the manufacturer created but did not put on the physical remote.

Will take an hour or two to go through and send all the codes but at least you'll know if it does have the codes or not by the end of the process.

Program and documentation in zip attached.  It is 16 years old now so hopefully the programs work on modern operating systems still.

Speaking of Android TV driver, can you make it so its compatible with TCL Google TVs?  with power on/off/volume controls!  thanks Alan.

    Unfortunately we cannot.

If you want to control a TV or projector that does not have a driver you can go down the CEC route using the HDANYWHERE uControl Zone Processor 5 hardware with our driver.  Just plug into any unused HDMI port and as long as CEC control is enabled our driver will provide control.

  16. Over the past few years we have noticed decline in all media player sales EXCEPT for Kaleidescape.

We have noticed increases in our Android TV driver sale.

As such i would assume that the reasoning behind this is that the market is trending towards streaming servers rather than storage.

As such our energy will shift towards market demand.

Even myself at home.  I built the Kodi driver for myself but tend to just watch netflix, disney+, prime, etc due to convenience.

    FAQ

    Why is this product exciting?

For years people have been asking us for ActronAir integration. We have worked alongside ActronAir to make this a reality.

The driver is compatible with both NEO and QUE based controls for a range of ActronAir HVAC systems.

What hardware will this work on?

This integration will work with NEO and QUE controls.

NEO Controls are compatible with the following range of systems.

How can i tell if my customer has a QUE system?

If your customer is utilising the QUE Connect app for iOS or Android then the driver will be compatible with their system.

They will also be utilising the QUE Touch master controller and potentially zone controllers.

Note that QUE is no longer available for sale. It continues to be supported by ActronAir. For those interested in its functionality, a number of features previously provided with QUE, are now available with the NEO control.

    How does this integration work?

This integration is a cloud based integration that communicates to ActronAir's servers. An active and stable internet connection is required for the integration to work.

For triggering an AV device, I have my Xbox and Wii setup, but it won't automatically switch inputs even though I have the wattages set correctly?  I had to manually add the "when output has reached maximum value" programming to make it switch over.

Am I missing something?  This works great, but I thought the properties setting would negate having to do this, not that it's a huge deal, just want to make sure I'm setting things up properly.  Great driver by the way!
