Ok, cool. What do you think about supporting custom events for a device? If a person did a Shelly.emitEvent() and it showed up on your websocket how would/could be it be handled? I'm probably in a very small group of people wanting this kind of thing, but it could potentially be useful to have some ability to handle a custom event.

If you want any sort of custom http event utilise our generic tcp driver.

I just installed three of these (and ordered five more) and use with the Chowmain driver.   Just follow the directions to flash the firmware (easy) and wire it up (easy) and it works like a charm.  I was pleasantly surprised that the driver suite auto-installed supporting drivers to expose the garage opener light, motion sensor and IR-beam stuff and makes them available in C4.  Nice bonus (although I haven’t tried those extras— I assume support varies by model of opener).   Basic garage door control “just works.”   I already pointed my old (broken) MyQ based programming to the new drivers and restored ability to control doors from DS2, navigators, etc.

    Good stuff!

IR beam requires IR beam installed, motion sensor requires keypad with motion sensor installed.  It can be added if you don't have it but not requried for operation.

It is fast becoming one of our top selling drivers.

Easy to setup, no cloud required and no internet required.  Means it is a solid installation that won't be effected by ISP or MyQ service disruptions.  Just works and will work forever.

I have a question sir.  When running multiple doors, is there a way to have an icon that's a "master" that reflects the state and controls all the doors?

Basically, if I have 3 doors, and 3 drivers, is there a way to have a "Garage Door All" Icon that when pressed opens or closes all the doors, something like that.  I could do a custom button, but I'd really like a Garage Door driver type scenario where you can press it and all the doors track.  I'm hitting a wall as I don't have enough bindings to really get this functionality.  Thanks sir!

Unfortunately you can't have a single driver that tracks and controls multiple doors

  4. @ILoveC4 i sent you this in response to your PM but thought that this should information should be a public in case anyone reads this thread in the future.

DriverCentral and the majority of driver marketplaces are tied closely into the dealer model that the industry is based off of.  It is history that stems all the way back to the Extra Vegetables days.  These marketplaces are not designed to be B2C for one off purchases as support for end users does not scale and any profit is essentially wiped out (or worse).  It is designed around a B2B model which involve dealer partnerships leading to skilling up dealers through repeat installations, usage and sales.

Note that whoever you purchased the 'licence' off of has you tied into their account. I am assuming that your 'licence' is the driverCentral project token.  This token enables the cloud driver to connect the project to a bundle of licences administrated in the driverCentral portal.  So my advice is to keep working with them as migration to another dealer is something that only driverCentral can do in their databases.  You cannot purchase from multiple dealers essentaily unless driverCentral migrate your project to their account.

Hope that helps clear things up.

Can someone please send me that DriverCentral.io cloud driver?

Apparently you have to be logged in to download it (which seems asinine considering it doesn't do anything you need to protect) and I can't log in right now. I just want someone to please send me the driver.

I have the RATGDO driver installed and license key but need the dumb free cloud driver. Thanks in advance.

The licence key is assigned in the driverCentral website.  What licence key are you talking about?

Looks like a new firmware, Firmware_V2.2.76_240204, for KS-KD8003-IME1(B) has been released.

Will this firmware be making the B version compatible with the Chowmain driver?

Due to chip shortages over COVID they had to re-engineer the doorstations to use a different chipset.

Hikvision is still working on their custom firmware for the new revision doorstations.

Would like to know as well?

The driver will work for all PTZ cameras for Hikvision regardless of model.

I picked up a trial of this driver yesterday but noticed that you can only use this with device variables, not the variables you set yourself with the variables agent.  Is there any plans to add this functionality?

That is not on our roadmap.

Ok. Heads up that your link in the driver pages links to a product that is likely discontinued.

I did just now find this Q&A on the HD site:

    image.thumb.png.9948c2762af882e5f78df6cf667942d2.png

This won't be the same as the previous model.  As the previous one had Smart By Bond built in.  means you don't need a bond bridge.  Sounds like this one you do and Bond bridge is just learning the remote RF codes.

Shelly Plus 2PM is the route I was initially planning to go, but the Sonoff DUALR3 was cheaper (which would be non-trivial as I multiply the number of shades I want to control), so figured I would find out.  Thanks for the confirmation.

It will be worth the extra few dollars.

@alanchow or team, Do you know if the new Home Depot universal fan controllers still work with Bond. I have some of the older ones you link to from your driver page, but it's not available any longer. Looks like the new one is pushing something called Hubspace so I'm not sure if they are supported in Bond.

I don't think they do.  Best to reach out to Bond to confirm.

    Great, I ordered the

    ratgdo v2.5 kit
and would like to learn all details about the installation, does anyone have step by step instructions? Pretty new to C4 still

Thank you all in advance 👍

First install ratgdo with the esphome firmware.  Confirm that it is working by itself before proceeding to the driver installation / setup.

You can follow the driver instructions in the URL below.

    Hi @alanchow / @Andrew luecke

Does the driver support motor mode for DUALR3 (for shade control)?  The post above and online driver webpage says DUALR3 switch mode is only supported - just wanted to confirm...

    Thanks

The DUALR3 doesn't have DIY mode so it would rely on eWeLink which is a cloud based API.  If you require two relays for your shades i would suggest looking at the Shely Plus 2PM

@alanchow Does the light proxy work with Liftmaster's 823LM Remote Light Switch? This syncs with the garage opener, when the garage door opens, the light turns on. Also works with the wall control motion sensor and light button.

    https://www.liftmaster.com/searchResult#q=823LM&tab=manuals&numberOfResults=20:~:text=LiftMaster Models 823LM / 825LM Product Guide - English

Good question.  I don't have an answer to this.  We implemented the light on ratgdo's ESPHome firmware.  You should reach out to Paul from ratgdo to see how the light works for remote light switches.

Personally though i would just use any Control4 integrated light switch and get the ratgdo driver to turn the light on and off.  Feedback is instant so it'll work nicely.

Alan: Can you view or access the camera for the smart openers from Liftmaster?

    Thanks!

The camera is a MyQ product only. As such ratgdo can't talk to it as It does not talk security + 1.0 or security + 2.0.

We recommend replacing the camera with a Control4 integrable camera.

We have worked with all major camera manufacturers. You can find drivers for them via our website.

  16. Have done some major updates over the past few weeks for the ratgdo Control4 driver.

    New features include

    • Ability to programatically move to a specific garage door position
    • Discrete Open and Close commands for supported models (not all garage door models support open and close commands.  Some only do toggle).
    • No Programming Automatic Push and Email Notifications (set through driver properties) for
      • Garage Door Open
      • Garage Door Close
      • Garage Door Still Open (variable time defined in driver properties)
    • Event on 'Garage Door Still Open'.  Can be used to fire off an audio announcement or other programming (use the properties for email and push notifications as this is quicker for notifications).

The driver is pretty much feature complete now.  However if any of you have any suggestions please let me know.

Awesome.  I'm going to try this.

I saw in a YouTube video (targeted at Home Assistant users) that the Ratgdo seems to track percentage open and you can open to any percentage of open.  Does your driver support this?  My use case is that I have a "whole house" exhaust fan in one of my garages and I would like to programatically crack the garage door open a bit and run exhaust fans during summer in certain situations.

I managed to figure out how to do the percentage open functionality.  Have implemented it as a one way command in the driver's commands.  This is so that i don't break the existing native Control4 garage door opener user experience that we have tied into.

Have also implemented discrete open and close functionality as well for supported models.

Please test this out in ESPHome first to ensure you have discrete open and close before implementing in Control4.

We do track the percentage however we only utilise that for feedback so that you do not need to install a reed swirch. The driver does not support setting the door to a specific position.

@alanchow do you have any inout here? Any thoughts on being able to have the driveway turn on a set number of hours before snow? Thanks

The best you can do is 24 hours before due to the data returned.  That's a long time to have your hearing element on for in my opinion.
