  1. If you do want to use a hardware device, our Lumi TV digital signage player is probably the perfect fit (lumi-tv.com). It's a 100% uptime device that is fully controllable (IP) from C4. Rapid installation and setup. Direct file playback is a snap. Only sold via dealers (with great intro specials)
  2. Yeah, SplashTiles can do this on any Android device (ie, your Shield). In SplashTiles, create a Screen with a full screen video player (plays file from Google Drive specified folder, cached locally on the Shield). Then just trigger display that Screen from our C4 driver. If the Shield is off, it will auto wake it up and if CEC is enabled that turns on the TV as well. You can also add a ton of customization as well (data overlays like sports scores, weather, news, etc) if you want.
  3. Our IRUSB is an option (for IP control, not IR).
  4. Turn on the Sleep timer (~10 mins). That way if it comes on it will self correct in 10 min. Fire OS in general isn't super stable. It is likely rebooting due to something (app or system) leaking memory.
  5. Please try this version and let me know it is resolves the issue with lighting. I don't have a way to test lighting. npcloud.c4z
  6. I think I see what causes this error. It will be addressed in driver version 7 in a few days.
  7. Usually best to file a ticket for support issues (netplay.freshdesk.com) Looks like you are hitting a bug in the driver. We don't have any C4 lighting devices on our network so that part of the driver isn't tested very well.
  8. You can also use our IRUSB for chromecast / Google TV. Full IP control with a free C4 driver. https://video-storm.com/proddetail.php?prod=IRUSB
  9. If you can't get it working right, or would just like to try another option that doesn't require 4sight. https://splash-tiles.com/help/alexa_c4.php Our C4 skill solution is free. You will need a dealer to install the NetPlay cloud driver on your system.
  10. You can use our IRUSB device to control any Android or Android TV box by IP (not IR, name is confusing). It will work as long as the device has a (functional) USB port to plug IRUSB into. https://video-storm.com/proddetail.php?prod=IRUSB
  11. You could switch to using our NetPlay system instead of SplashTiles (also ours). NetPlay is 100% local and works awesome on Sony TVs. You can PIP any video source over the HDMI input (or native apps). You can also overlay graphics just like SplashTiles. For NetPlay, you just need 1 NetPlay Manager ($599) and 1 NetPlay TV license per TV ($90 lifetime). Will work on all your Android or Fire OS TVs. On the other hand, SplashTiles is still a great option that is almost free. It is cloud based, but that is just the control and message text (not video which always stays local). Plus it is https protected and our cloud server uses up to date AWS servers (we do make the effort to keep it secure).

  13. Yes, TV audio out is synced to video on the screen. Putting the TV in game mode is a way to reduce the delay of the TV if you need to use centralized speakers for TV audio (since the difference in delay will be minimized). IMO, TV speakers or TV audio out should always be used INSTEAD of centralized audio for TV viewing. This is both for delay matching and directionality. However, you have to work with what you have so find the best solution for you of course.
  14. All TVs have processing delay on the video path (HDMI in to screen), from a minimum of about 5ms (really good Game mode) up to about 100 ms (all the 3d processing modes turned on). The audio path inside the TV will be properly matched to whatever the internal video delay is. This allows the TV speaker to maintain proper sync regardless of what modes you have enabled. The TV audio output (dig / analog) is generally also delay matched in the same way. Some high end TVs also have a +- delta delay you can add to the TV audio out jacks to compensate for any delay in external speakers. Some really cheap TVs don't delay match the TV audio outputs or have other issues, but that is rare. So in your case the easiest solution is to try putting the TV in GAME mode.

  16. You can use our splash-tiles.com driver, service, and app for this. https://splash-tiles.com/ For the hardware, it can use any Android or Fire OS device (or built in on Android / Fire OS TVs). It will play 4K video via your command on the driver. It can do WAY more than that as well. This use case would be completely free.
  17. Many of you are familiar with or currently use Brightsign as your go to hardware for digital signage projects. Lumi TV is designed to provide you with higher performance hardware, better pricing, and the most optimized setup for rapid deployment of projects large or small. Lumi TV is also compatible with nearly every CMS (centrally managed signage) application on the market. Finally, Lumi TV is very compatible with your business model. The only online pricing available is "better value than other professional signage hardware". Dealers have the freedom to price the hardware according to their specific bids. 18. Personally I would recommending upgrading to a solid gaming PC, rebuy the titles he still plays on Steam, or run the emulator for very old stuff. Better bang for the buck then buying all the needed switching.... Also an educational "opportunity" for kiddo
  19. 4K 60 4:2:0 is equivalent to 4:4:4 given your sources (streaming sources are encoded at 4Kp60420 or lower formats). It operates at a lower clock rate and would likely work on the older cables.
  20. No fan devices. Just these devices: All you need to remember is:Use the "set Watch" and "set Listen" voice commands to control your AV gear just like you would with a remote.Your AV gear is referred to by device "TV". You can control volume, mute, and turn it on/off.Your Lighting is referred to by device "Lights". Turn them on/off or set the percentage.Use "set Event" to run any scenes or macros from your C4 system. You can also use transport controls (Play, pause, next) with the device name
  21. I'll look at that. Personally I never see the icons cause I only use the SR remotes....
  22. If you are referring to the time from boot until IRUSB is useable: By default, it will become active as soon as the Android service loader finishes loading everything. Note that this is AFTER the device menus are active to local control because all services load in the background and are lower priority. So it is as fast as it can be, there are no manual delays. It can be slower on some devices (like Fire Stick) if you do a soft reboot. This is because the soft reboot here doesn't actually reboot USB properly (OTG cable stuff) and our device has to detect that it was left in limbo and force a reconnect. This takes longer (1-3 min) but once again isn't practical to allow configuration (our setting is known to always work). If you mean something else please give more details.
  23. Yep, that is Android but also very locked down by Meta. To use IRUSB, you would need to be able to install our IRUSB app and the USB port must be functional. The later seems to be true, but the former might not be currently.
  24. If the device is android and has a usb port, IRUSB will be able to control it via IP. Otherwise, zaphod is correct that (when enabled) all menu navigation controls on the TV are also passed back to the source device via CEC.
  25. The new version of our IRUSB app in now in open beta on Google Play. You can opt in using this link: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.videostorm.irusb Version 3.0 adds the following: Support for our upcoming new IRUSB version (USB motion) that replaces the IR RX with a motion sensor. More details on this coming... Ability to replace the IRUSB launch screen (shown when USB connects) with a custom designed screen of your choice. The launch screen still must be shown after a boot, but it can now show whatever you want. Ability to auto program your IRUSB / USB Motion devices from the cloud (common configs and such) Targeted for Android 11 APIs and latest security requirements Please try it out and let us know if you have any issues. Full rollout in a few weeks.
