Ok... Generally I've been fairly quiet for the last year and mostly just reading the threads watching for new C4 stuff or other interesting 3rd party items, and or ideas.
But I had to pop in and post before slinking back into the shadows... Are you always this nasty to people and are you yourself a dealer, hopefully not mine if you are... I ask because many of your posts trend towards not so nice. The OP said he just upgraded, didn't say he did it and didn't say he didn't do it. I think most of us assumed he upgraded via his dealer who didn't inform him of possible issues, conflicts, or loss of functionality. Believe it or not, not every dealer is amazing and covers these things. Sometimes a client calls and says they want to upgrade and so the dealer upgrades them, no questions asked.
Yes you can read this thread and come to possible conclusions but why? What purpose does it serve outside of trolling someone. I'm sure I'll get accused of doing the same thing but if you look at my past posts you'll see that my MO is generally the same. There is no reason to be mean, nasty, ignorant, or otherwise to people.
With that said, back to the shadows and maybe someday I'll just learn to keep my mouth shut.
If you want to look back, the OP 'thanked' me for the value I added, when I was the first one to point him to where the answer to the question was found. It seemed pretty apparent they're working with cracked Composer or something, but they had the temerity to throw shade at me for suggesting they use dealer resources to solve a dealer issue.
But, again, thanks for your opinion of your partial perception of the events unfolding, that's productive. I at least responded, several times, on topic.- niall, Adidaswood, therockhr and 2 others

If you have the allow remote access option un-checked in your customer.control4.com account, they cannot access through Control4.

Are you seriously accusing me of stealing the livelihood of dealers? I'd ask how I'd done that, but to be honest I don't really want to get involved.
Yet you replied.
And yes, if you're not a dealer, and using Composer without proper authorization, you're taking livelihood away from dealers.

If you read the release materials, it tells you exactly what you're seeing. FAVORITES. (it's even there in the sentence). It's also in just about every other thread in this board and others.

Thanks I appreciate the value you've added to the thread.
You're apparently not a dealer, because you don't have access to the proper materials, taking away from the livelihood of half the people on this board.
Thanks for the value that you add to the community. -

Thanks,
Such a shame that they released this without having parity with 2.10.
If they released with full parity with 2.10, it would be 2.10.
Things change. -
Yes. There's an article in the KB for it.

Correct. WAPs hardwired to the controller are not mesh networks. A mesh, yes, is something like Orbi. Lots of companies have them, including Google. These devices have to send AND receive over wireless, which vastly complicates the wireless data network.
Control4 uses a lot of SIP and multicasts for things like Intercom (and a lot more), and that traffic is usually handled very poorly by mesh repeaters. -

Interesting. If a customer has a large home, they want Control4, and they want every room in their house to glow with solid Wi-Fi signal, how is that being addressed?
With WAPs connected via a backbone. This is standard design.

There's absolutely no requirement for Pakedge equipment.
There's a handful of known issues with third-party equipment.
Mesh networking is a horrible idea, no matter the manufacturer, for intense automation/AV networks. -

considering that 2.10 worked fine and the upgrade to OS 3 is the only thing that changed, I'm scratching my head a bit.
You were lucky it worked before. I've seen tons of mesh network issues before OS 3.
What's left me scratching my head is that support shows you a known issue that causes lots of issues with lots of systems, and you're questioning it. -
Old touch screens can usually still connect and function somewhat. This was the case with virtually any other touch screen that Control4 has end-of-lifed over the years. Mini touches 'worked' far into OS 2, even though things slowly stopped working as OS updates happened.
It will likely work. Until it won't. Based on how Control4 worked in the past, they haven't been interested in killing them in the past.- RyanE, JMcNaught427 and sonic30101

I do find it interesting to get announcement of merger then 3.0 drops shortly thereafter.....
I consider early adopters to be essentially beta testers. I don't have time for that level of pain.
Beta was happening for months before the merger was announced. so...

Hi
I was just browsing some of the videos here ´: https://de.control4.com/os3/getting-the-most-out-of-os3
and was wondering about the "Active media bar" which doesn't appear on my Android device (APP is 3.0) - is the OS 3.0 GUI really that heterogeneous?
I see it on my galaxy note. Do you have media active in the room?

Yeah - it's pretty stupid.
Yeah it's ridiculous to make the TV GUI focused on Watch and Listen.

Ahhhhh yeah!!!!
Why not make that a feature....and talk about it.They did, years ago, with OS... what was it, 2.8, on EAs and T3s.

delete the power status contact. You don't have a power status contact.

NC = normally closed.
So, until the relay is open, it'll be closed and give you 12V. -

No. Voltage flows overs 2 wires, 12V triggers are 2 wire (TS) connectors. Then on the Control4 side, it feeds through a relay to open and shut the voltage.

Just curious. How is there going to be a 4K on-screen UI when the specs for the EA series controllers only shows supported output of 1080?
Maybe (hopefully) Control4 was sandbagging the spec and the boxes actually have the hardware to support 4K output, but if not some of the conjecture above just doesn’t make sense.
Just get on board. All these changes are CONFIRMED.

What exciting information has been shared so far? A new GUI? The only information I have seen, so far, isn't very exciting. I'm assuming there will be things to get excited about, but nothing released so far is exciting.
I'm assuming the insider would be sharing the info because they're excited about it. It's probably worse if they're sharing it because they're not excited about.
Either way, you're betraying their trust.
Can you downgrade 3.0 to 2.10?

saying they don't have access to the KB usually implies they're trying to DIY a solution and taking away from those who work for a living at this, and come here on their own accord to help out.
All he/she has to say at that point, (since I was the one who first offered help), is 'thanks, I'll point that out to my dealer.'
