It'll depend on the electrical wiring cost and intend.
One adaptive phase module is roughly 6 Adaptive phase dimmers, but then there's panel, rails etc so in the end for 8 lights, you may at best even out (if you can find a single rail DIN panel). Then there's the likely need for a few keypads - in a small situation like yours standard wireless keypads are more economical.
Wiring CAN be cheaper in centralized lighting, though I've seen electrician charge MORE for it (they really shouldn't).
If you're doing 8 lights and wall clutter isn't a concern, you're most likely cheaper off using standard APD dimmers or even Keypad dimmers.
Panelized lighting really doesn't start potentially becoming economical until you start filling up at least a small C4 panel (3 modules) and do a handful of wireless keypads (use low voltage wiring and the wall plug power supply for them to save cost) smartly placed.
I'm assuming you want the 'Gen3' look as this is addition, but if you're looking to save on upfront cash, the Essential line is the way to go.
Do note that they consume considerably more power 'idling' - it's not terribly much as such, but it's still numerous times over what the 'Gen3s' use.

Kc = keypad only

My 2 cents on my Luma system as of late.... For the second time in 4 months my system is suddenly not sending ANY email/text alerts.  I haven't changed anything and can successfully send test emails/texts but no actual triggered alerts come through.  It's recording events but nothing is working.  I sent an email to customers@control4.com as that's the only point of contact I could find.  Not very good or easy technical support considering the cost of the 710 cameras I'm using.

I've noticed that if you play the playlist from the remote you can select it to play as SHUFFLE.  However, I have it programmed so I can tell Alexa, "Alexa, Turn on playlist Cheap Trick" then there is no command on the remote to add shuffle even though I have it programmed to turn on playlist Cheap Trick and Shuffle On for the room but the shuffle isn't working for some reason.  Strange...
Also, I am old school and do like album start to finish but when you have an artist that has 20+ albums, it's nice to not listen to the same order every time!

I think the problem may have been the artwork was 2100x2000 or something in that range.... I know some players have difficulty processing if the embedded artwork is too high or at least in this case that seems to have resolved the issue by changing the artwork to a picture with lower resolution.... Just as an FYI possibly for future issues if anyone runs into this issue.

So restored my backup project that I did before I upgraded to 3.2 and my GE Concord is back online.... so until some of these 3.2 bugs are worked out, I would recommend avoiding!
The downside is now I'm stuck on firmware 3.2 and can't use Composer to do any programming.

Spoken to my Dealer yesterday about this and they are working on it. 
Looks like we will be getting a new release of HE 
They did not test in HE in Beta (Shock)- Hence the reason we are getting the issue 

press hold is mostly used for directional keys (acceleration) and ffw/rev.  
long press keys are used to access sub menus that are device specific (long press home, etc).
 

Thanks to msgreenf I'm running the newest driver and the mini apps.  My functionality is back for both the Shield home screen and Kodi. Can anyone explain how the press hold function works? I have it set for long but when I use the select button on my Control4 remote it just opens the app as it always has.  I assume that this is used for moving icons around on the screen as the original Shield remote does.

I'm on most current 3 firmware so nothing from previous era would work.... I did manage to get a good deal on a Triad One so pretty happy with price and convenience it appears to offer.... haven't received it yet but will give a review

It took several evenings of ripping and attaching album artwork. I have over 3000 CDs so it was a project!  I have 2 Drobo 5 bay network drives

I have to say the IRUSB is amazing now that I've got the updated 1.6 driver.  I haven't had this much fast response time and control over an XBMC/KODI box until now.  I have the NVIDIA Shield and the IRUSB works amazingly well for everything so far with fantastic response.  Just had to put that review out there for anyone considering purchase.

Seems like every couple of weeks or so I have to unplug and replug to get the scanning working.
I need to update my media so I can play using my SR250 remotes under ARTISTS or ALBUMS so I don't believe My Movies is an option... I just want my media library to automatically update on schedule as I have programmed but it's not even doing scheduled scans until I power cycle....

I have to give a recommendation to utilize Neil's services. I utilized his services to add my new Control4 8 zone amp and he had it up and running in hardly any time at all. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to get some work done on their system especially if you can't wait a month to have your dealer come out. Great work, very knowledgeable, and very quick!
