  1. We have two homes w C4. EAs in both and both run by ca10. I’m into having the latest hardware but the features for Core don’t give me any reason to upgrade. And we had two core 1s put in in one home and they’re bug-ridden. One “major”feature was 4K OSD. It doesn’t work. Had to be downgraded. Awful. Not even a major new feature and it was botched. OSD also locks up and the Core1s lock up randomly and have to be rebooted each night with a watt box (one min delay) our platinum dealer had to add on their dime. EAs were fine and were speedy. Also awful- no outdoor motions avail anymore. They show on C4 website but they stopped making them. Major home automation with no outdoor motion?
  2. Neeos don’t run on 5ghz. Only 2.4. They don’t have 5ghz radios. And they should “just work” on Wi-Fi like any other Wi-Fi device. But they don’t. They’re a mess.
  3. I agree. I have probably 100+ Wi-Fi devices and none require Wi-Fi tweaking. The comments sympathetic re neeo and halo make no sense. I’ve programmed and installed networks myself and this wifi finickiness means that someone at C4 has really blown it. Twice.
  4. This is nuts. They know many have multicast enabled. These remotes should just work without BS tweaking. So glad I waited on Halo Touch. That said I’m stuck w a bunch of dud Neeos.
  5. Yeah we use IP driver on a bunch of ATVs in two homes and it works well. 2-3 years ago the remote would disconnect intermittently but has been rock solid for last year.
  6. Not sure what your issue is with responding a year later. Pretty obnoxious. Esp for C4 employee.
  7. Yeah but it is better than a crappy TI radio — which the neeos have. Awful remote.
  8. They should replace free. This is a crappy radio plain and simple.
  9. Why isn’t it updated? You shouldn’t have stale info on website.
  10. Nope. No updates since Oct 2021 apparently: https://www.control4.com/help/c4/software/rn/dealer-neeo/content/release_notes_neeo_remote/releases.htm
  11. Do you know if C4 is still providing firmware updates to Neeo or are they abandoning? Are the firmware updates listed online?
  12. Can’t imagine there are robust Chinese walls (no pun intended) in place. I’ll consider when they use US manufacturer but I understand there are prob none at this point
  13. Uniview is Chinese manufacturer too. If NDAA can’t be that right?
  14. Anyone know who makes the new NDAA cameras and NVRs? Obviously not Hikvision (thankfully).
  15. Dealer does it. They replaced mine for free — 2-3 with screen issues (froze and wouldn’t recover w reboot or factory reset) and 2 approx with bad radios. Dealer confirmed all were defective prior to rma. All replaced free but not sure if they were past 1 year old.
  16. Good points. Just know that we had a couple of defective radios but they never stayed connected for that long.
  17. IMO you need to rma the remote. Suspect you’ve a bad radio. We had a few.
  18. Good question. Concerned about upgrading because neeo was a beta product in effect. Would be nice to know which chip each halo uses. Also suspect voice control will be wonky for a bit and perhaps wait for a silent hardware upgrade.
  19. Snarky reply but if you had 10 Neeos and they each drop off the network consistently and this Neeo was positioned as a game changing shiny new thing, and they then just drop the product, I think you’d question their business sense as well. Savant’s remote is a core competency. Remotes are a focal point for most. Since I wrote the note above they already offered a discount and I expect them to offer more.
  20. We had issues with two neeos which had issues on Ubiquiti and we brought to another house w ruckus and same issue. So my mistake above — turns out it wasn’t the APs, it was the neeos and we RMA’d them both. New ones were fine. Btw we had displays die on two others (confirmed by our pinnacle dealer) and were rma’d as well. New ones fine other than the searching for network issues and some other bugs. Anyone know if neeo will continue to be supported? I’ve asked the C4 folks for swap for halo (seems reasonable given they appear to be abandoning their shiny new thing) but they’ve balked. Maybe Savant next time.
  21. Ours’ drop out periodically (ruckus aps) and we couldn’t get them to work at all with ubiquiti. I’m asking our dealer now if c4 will replace them with halo touches. Don’t think C4 is incentivized to support neeo in long run and this was a pivot (away from neeo — ostensibly their future architecture). They should do right by customers and provide free switch to Halos.
  22. No idea unfortunately. We tried it soon after it was released. Even when mockupancy was not activated, lights were going on and off randomly. It was like our house was haunted. Had to complete remove it. It was a dud for us but curious if anyone is using it.
  23. Same issue. Feedback in all speakers. Replacing C4 audio matrix. 8 years old. These should last decades. Awful.
