  1. I also noticed that the Vera controller does not have support for the zigbee version either. That could change but only the Zwave model is supported.
  2. Unfortunately that will not work. Control4 sells their own zigbee locks and ONLY those locks will integrate. Other zigbee brands will not be compatible as they will not "identify" when trying to connect.
  3. The Danalock v3 is a zwave device and is compatible with a Vera controller. Vera will integrate with Control4. I recommend at least a Vera Edge or consider a Vera Plus if wanting other wireless options. Eg, zigbee, zwave, zwave plus, wifi, bluetooth (not working yet), and usb.
  4. There are drivers being made specifically for T3 touch screens so you'll lose out on those benefits. I find most of those drivers quite handy..... particularly the Generic URL driver by blackwire. I can plug in a custom url and view the web page on the T3. Having my google calendar available on the kitchen T3 gets me out of a lot of trouble when my wife adds another event without telling me. I'm less likely to miss it... https://www.blackwiredesigns.com/store/c4-generic-url-driver/
  5. Every once in a while this forum needs a good one of these....
  6. There are brand and model specific drivers for security integration.
  7. The lag may not be noticeable enough to be an annoyance but every time you introduce a hop (bridge, vera controller) that also introduces a link for failure. Having said that, the vera has been solid for me. I definitely recommend integrating a security system (especially dsc) if you already have motion sensors. Those can be used for programming in control4.
  8. It depends on your locale, and what product you have access to, will determine what is cheaper. A vera controller supports a lot of brands and other device types so expandability and variety will be an advantage over Philips hue. I can't comment on the reliability of Philips hue as I do not use it but I can vouch for vera as I use it personally.
  9. Any compatible zwave motion sensor paired to a vera edge or vera plus will work. Those controllers can integrate with control4. 40 sensors is a lot so you'll save the most but you'll get a better response with control4 or nyce zigbee motion sensors. Keep in mind that if they're all battery powered, you'll have quite the maintenance schedule. Consider wired motion sensors wired to contact switches.
  10. Both the EA3 and EA5 have audio sensing. Works well and very responsive.
  11. You have to consider that this type of integration is very niche (Control4 automation). Whatever the cost, if it works, its WELL worth the price to get it shipped.
  12. If the ceiling lights (or other lighting) has been changed, the newer C4 dimmers (adaptive phase) tend to handle more types of lighting (especially LED) much better than the Gen1 and Gen2 C4 dimmers and switches. There are many households that still have the older C4 light switches/dimmers/keypads and they still work flawlessly. The older C4 controllers cannot receive the newer C4 OS so those would have to be replaced by the newer EA5, EA3, and EA1's to keep the system current to the latest features of Control4. That does not mean that they have to be replaced if the system is still running fine and no upgrades or changes are needed. The newer EA series controllers a MUCH better controller to work with and are very quick to respond to changes, reboots, etc. The quality is just so much better. Well worth the upgrade even if you're not ready to upgrade the C4 lighing.
  13. Since you're starting from scratch with a new Control4 system, I don't recommend using insteon lighting (although it will work). I have a client who previously had insteon lighting throughout the home but wanted to use it with a Control4 system, rather than spending even more money on replacing everything. The performance and reliability of the lighting system by itself wasn't all that impressive to begin with and neither was it impressive with Control4 as there are some limitations with programming. The next step I'm recommending for this client is to remove all the Insteon keypads and replace with Control4 keypad dimmers. This will create a much better zigbee mesh while using a much better quality keypad. Not only do you have to consider the network for Control4 to work properly but also the zigbee mesh. Control4 lighting serves that purpose too.
  14. If its configured properly, there shouldn't be any issues. Constant tinkering with the DS2 is usually the cause of this. There's KB articles for dealers how to set up and troubleshoot. The DS2 is consistent once set up right. After that, "No Touchie!"
  15. For the most part, HE is safe. You can inadvertently program loops or misuse the 'while' condition that could crash your controller into an infinite loop (better to not use it). Saving a copy of your project before making new changes can prevent these scenarios.
  16. The AppleTV ip address can be reserved in your primary router by it's MAC address or you can set the AppleTV static IP address manually within its own settings. If you do either one of these, you should be "GOLD"
  17. That actually makes the most sense since the ATV can't be controlled at all. Many are having problems with some of the commands not working all of a sudden which is why an IR driver is being used as a fix.
  18. There is a fairly new custom IR driver that was made because of this problem with the AppleTV 4.
  19. Adobe Air needs to be installed on your Windows PC first. It's not an App. After, you'll be able to run/install the Control4 for PC-Mac.air file. Once installed, that is the "app" you will run as the C4 PC Navigator for your system. You'll have to set it up when you run it for the first time.
  20. You quoted me before I could edit the post.... Download the one for Windows
  21. You need to install Adobe Air for PC or Mac OSX. Choose the right one for your OS ----> https://get.adobe.com/air/otherversions/
  22. What about the vacuum cleaner? Was that left behind by the wifey as a reminder or will that be hidden too?
