  1. I did not see this, but I upgraded over an already working HE so was not asked for the license key and login. I had installed HE 3.1.2 clean on a new PC with the customer.control4.com password so I know that works. If you completely uninstall HE 3.2.0 install HE 3.1.2 with key/password and immediately install 3.2.0 you shouldn’t see the new license dialogs. There is a way to avoid complete uninstall but I forget where the credentials are stored.
  2. Can you expand on why you prefer the DS2 over the Chime? Is there something you didn’t like about the chime? How/why is the T4 awesome?
  3. Chime ordered. Can’t wait to ditch my Ring Elite. Or for my wife to stop asking why she has to use a separate ap for the doorbell. I’m really hoping the response time from hitting the button to triggering an event is much much faster and the time to establish a video chat session is near instantaneous. Over the last couple years Ring seems slower and slower.
  4. A review on the Chime: https://www.residentialsystems.com/technology/security/review-control4-chime-smart-doorbell Says it comes with an adapter for a standard one gang box. That’s a big plus for me since I would replace an existing Ring Elite.
  5. T4s are a tough sale at those prices. I’m sure I’ll get at least one but I’d replace all my screens if they were closer to $500-$600. But C4 corporate profit, dealer profit, tarriffs on Chinese made products, low volumes make that a dream.
  6. Does Chime video support require a T4? The Chime is what I was hoping for before I got the Ring Elite - a video doorbell integrated into C4 with local response not dependent on the cloud. My PoE Ring Elite seems to take longer and longer to respond these days. I’m hoping Chime is a lot more responsive and I’m really hoping C4 was smart enough to put a mounting option together that makes replacing a Ring Elite as simple as changing out a faceplate.
  7. Be nice if there is a single gang mounting option so it could be a easy swap out of a Ring Elite
  8. Anyone know if C4 is readying a new ecobee driver? ” We're excited to announce that we are in the process of updating our authentication systems to better serve our customers and protect their privacy. Please review this email closely as it outlines several changes that may affect how your systems are integrated with the ecobee API. Upcoming API Changes Effective December 1, 2020 The following changes will go into effect on December 1, 2020. If you are unsure whether these changes will have an impact on your solution today, we encourage you to discuss it with your technology team, program manager, other stakeholders and ecobee partners. Access/Refresh Token Format Changes Starting from December 1, 2020, ecobee access tokens will no longer be returned as opaque 32-character strings. Access tokens will now be JWTs, which are considerably longer and uses a wider character set. Our JWTs follow the RFC7575 standard for JSON Web Signature tokens. To ensure your application will continue to work, you will need to ensure that your application supports the following changes: Access tokens will be up to 7KB in length, and includes upper/lower case alphanumeric characters, hyphens, underscores, and periods. Refresh tokens can be of varying lengths and can contain non-alphanumeric characters. Authorization Code Changes The Redirect URI associated with your registered application should be a semi-colon separated list of absolute URLs that start with https://. We do not accept http:// protocol links. PIN Authorization Changes PINs will become 10 character alphanumeric strings. This flow is only recommended in situations where a user is interacting with a device that cannot easily use a web-based login form; we recommend migrating to the Authorization Code strategy for a better user experience. Click here for more ecobee developer documentation. Early Access Program For developers who would like to switch over to the new authorization flows before the December 1st deadline, there is an Early Access Program (EAP) available immediately. To gain access to this program, please submit a ticket on our Help Center and our Developer Relations team will reach out to you with next steps. Next Steps If you have any questions about these upcoming changes to the ecobee API, please submit a ticket on our Help Center and the Developer Relations team will get in touch with you.
  9. I would absolutely love a Fing driver and pay well for one. The two UniFi drivers really need to have combined function to be useful and I think a Fing driver would be a much better option (and more widely used)
  10. I have noticed that when watching a live camera stream on a T3 if C4 takes a snapshot from the same camera the live picture freezes. Is this expected or a bug?
  11. I didn’t see that anywhere in the Control4 marketing material ...
  12. How do you get view on the T3? Is that new with 3.1.3?
  13. It’s a pity that those who want to take the class the most can’t.
  14. Absolutely prewire. changing batteries or charging motors gets old fast.
  15. I’m still on 3.1.2. Is there a way to get the T3 updates in 3.1.2? Or is an update to 3.1.3 required?
  16. +1 I hope the difference is obvious, but also that I never need to know.
  17. A paper clip is a key tool for any smart home these days ... Glad to hear your T3 is fine.
  18. OMG. Hope that the T3 isn’t bricked and can be recovered. Can these updates be disabled? Or do you get them no matter what if you are on 3.1.3?
  19. Agree @Cyknight and approximate times are fine.
  20. Yes, but 7 days is a very long timer and I figured I’d lose it on a reboot.
  21. I don’t think it’s dramatic at all. There are times I need/want to control an outlet from C4 and I absolutely want to know if/when particular devices go offline. For what SnapAV charges for the Wattbox line a driver that actually works properly isn’t much to ask. It’s pretty sad to have to put a piece of equipment on a cheap device like a Kasa plug just to get two way status.
  22. That’s good enough for what I want. I was over thinking things. Thanks.
