bdo21 got a reaction from Davfire in Hikvision ANPR
I have the Hikvision driver from Chowmain and my dealer setup the ANPR in C4. The camera has a watchlist and when one of these license plates is triggered, it notifies C4.
I had an initial list of two cars to do one action and two cars for another action - the programming in Control4 has 4 individual conditional statements (1 for each car) - ie if the Hikvision driver notifies license plate X, then do Y. This all works well.
However, I want to add a longer list of license plates. Do I need to add them all to the Hikvision watchlist and repeat the C4 programming for each individual license plate?
in C4, can it lookup a Control4 list (or be an OR statement)? I would like something which I can easily edit. This still leaves me adding license plates to both Hikvision and C4 (a hassle but not an issue).
If needs be, I could change the setup so every license plate has the same action - could I then use the camera’s watchlist so the camera notifies C4 when one of these license plates is triggered and then C4 doesn’t care what the license plates is but just runs the action whenever it receives a prompt from Hikvision?
    Thanks!

I have been doing some more research on this. The SolarEdge web API is interesting to pull historical data (which I have done to calculate whether a battery makes sense) but you are limited to 200 calls each day so not very useful for real time data.

However, I have found you can extract SolarEdge data locally every minute using an RS485 interface in an industry standard protocol called SunSpec. I’ll start a new specific thread on SunSpec which is relevant for equipment from multiple solar equipment manufacturers.

bdo21 got a reaction from South Africa C4 user in Capabilities of Alexa
My family had become so used to using Alexa to play music before we installed C4, I needed some solution to get acceptance of the system. I ended up with echo dots in rooms and echo flexes in the rack. Each dot is paired with a flex as the default speaker so when the family ask Alexa to play a song (just as they normally would with Alexa - no extra words), it plays through the flex. The triad amp senses the audio and switches to that input.
It is not perfect - it doesn’t work for all alexa’s functionality (eg Alexa timers don’t seem to play anywhere) and the first 0.5 second or so of audio is lost when switching sources to the Alexa and obviously Control4 just shows the echo as the source without any more information such as song title, etc. But better than not being able to play music with Alexa through the in-ceiling speakers for me.

bdo21 got a reaction from Chris C in Multi-Point Door Lock Options
Sorry - this is the updated version of the lock: https://www.abloy.co.uk/en/abloy/abloy-co-uk/products-mpc/electric-locks/motor-locks/standard-stile/mp520-push--pull-function-multipoint-lock-case-for-solid-doors/

The lock just takes an electrical pulse to unlock so both the relay output of the ekey system and the EA5 can send an electrical pulse down the same cable to the lock.

Just another recommendation for Chris - addressed everything I need really well (going beyond what I could have expected!), incredibly responsive and also fixed issues that my original dealer didn’t seem able to. Really great to work with - thanks Chris!!!

hi thanks guys for the response.
if it turns out that i can't do ip - did you use the same driver for IR?
Can i ask what custom programming you did to enter art mode / and is the IR bug placed on the TV rather than the One Connect box?

    regards
