  1. Was thinking about this recently and saw a comment in the "best of" thread about a rental property Is there a use case where you have added control4 to a rental property you manage (not you as a tenant). A property we recently bought had an ADT touchscreen, door/window sensors, and ecobee marketed as a "smarthome". We don't have any of it really hooked up because the tenant would have internet/electric and everything in their name which might be a non-starter for control4 too Anyone doing this?
  2. So do you plan to open your phone for the control4 app instead of the visor button in the future? I feel like i'm missing something since that doesn't seem too safe. This is also more button clicks moving the app to room garage, security, and then the door instead of something that is one button click now.
  3. I haven't got into integrated motion sensors yet, but for room like the garage and mudroom when walking in it made more sense for me to go with a simple switch like this. C4 integration didn't really make sense, just because it should always turn on and off in the garage and no need for it to be "smart". Same in mudroom walking in. Nothing smart, just always motion detects when you walk in to turn the lights on. As far at the actual garage integration, I'm also interested after the free myQ driver broke last year. I'm still not really convinced $200 to integrate the driver is worth the value IMO I just don't use it that often, but the nice thing is having the front door keypad open the door. I do have some extra wires run in my attic above the garage I could use to run back to the HC800. If I have wires available for the relays is there a way to hard wire and not use the MyQ driver or is the relay WITH the MyQ driver for better polling? I'm still confused on the setup with relays. I'd like to figure out the contact relay solution so its directly integrated and not rely on a third party driver and broken API's
  4. Is it typical for yeelights to always drop offline? I’m ready to ditch them and just move to the hue strips if they have a decent app and actually work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. True. At $90 a dimmer you'd be better off just going with an adaptive phase C4 dimmer. Are there any non-C4 dimmers that integrate similar to a C4-KD120? I think the keypad volume control functionality is super convenient in any "zone" with audio, but haven't been able to find a cheaper alternative to the keypad functionality.
  6. Has anyone ever seen/used these? Just realized my friend works for this company and don't know much about it. They look pretty sleek. Assuming there's no C4 driver though... https://www.deako.com/
  7. How do I do this? My dealer and I have both never used this driver to figure it out.
  8. Thanks. This will be the first lighting scene I create. I guess I have to learn eventually. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I just got the trial license to try out my new cabinet lights. Problem now is I have 20 sliders in the lighting for my kitchen (4 separate strips). Is there an easy way to make this into a lighting scene so I only see one brightness dimmer to control all 4 strips in the navigator? Also, probably hide the color sliders and change from the yeelight app instead to keep the nav cleaner Once I have the scene I’ll want to add it to my keypad too. Right now it’s unusable with all these extras I don’t need. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Lightning deal on amazon now for $23.39 for the LED strip. I was only able to pick up 1 for that price though.
  11. Curious if these go on any Black Friday deal. Keeping an eye out but I’ll probably pick some up before Christmas either way. My girlfriend is really skeptical of the brand, but all the reviews look good...and no hub Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Setting up Initial binding needs a dealer. A few lights should take less than a half hour. Programming scenes and logic can be done in HE after that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. https://www.control4.com/solutions/products/wireless-keypads They are a little pricey, but pop-up on eBay once in a while. This combines the functionality of a keypad and a dimmer into one. The regular dimmers are cheaper. Also, this doesn’t require a hub or any third party drivers to make work, just a quick binding from a dealer and you can program all buttons the way you like in HE Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Why not get a control4 keypad dimmer? It will control a lighting load, volume and whatever else you want to program in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Is there a way to group them if I’m using three strips in one area. Also, is there a cleaner way to show them in the navigator instead of 5 for every strip? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Thanks. I think I will go this route. My original dealer never setup SB like this, probably why I always hated using it.
  17. How are you guys implementing the drivers in regard to auto room on? I have one driver now and haven't had a ton of time to test it out yet. Seems a little clunky, but my idea is to get 8 drivers, one for each of my 8 zones and then i can just select what room to turn on from Spotify. Does this make sense or is there a better way?
  18. How much more $$$ up front are we talking for the DMX option? Don't exactly want to break the bank, but don't want to be disappointed with IR and go back to re-work later Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I have a RPi in my project now and going to add an android box soon to another room. It will be my first android box but keep seeing I need to root it. Is this to use kodi/android apps or both? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Previously before getting the kodi driver it was generically setup similar to bluray is and could function the same under watch and listen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. So even if i just select directly from the Kodi menu it will show up on my SR250 as "video addons", no way around it. From here i want to listen to audio in kitchen and bedroom (without tv's in those areas). If you're saying this is impossible would you ever put a "fake" watch button in zones without tvs to add this multi channel use?
  22. Is there a way to make the driver play a video source over a room with only "listen" options? For example, i want to play the ESPN video addon and send the audio to the kitchen that only has speakers. I used to be able to do this with HDMI to living room receiver and RCA to the multi channel app, not it is separated an not an option.
  23. So, I'm still pretty new to C4 and my installer just did the basic to get me going and let me expand as I go. I'm using a raspberry pi right now and looking to get a Synology NAS once I research a little more on which model and money and everything else. This kodi driver seems like exactly what I want to control everything for my media, but my question is do i just pull the trigger and ask my installer to add the driver or wait until the NAS if it will be a lot of configuring all over again. I feel like now that I can see what C4 is capable of I will be bugging my integrator a lot in the beginning to add all kinds of things.
