CTMatthew got a reaction from Niteowl Connect in New Installation
If a client put my proposal on a public forum for input I'd return their deposit and end our working relationship. This just isn't a productive way to proceed. If you don't trust your dealer find another one. if you have questions about what you're buying ask your dealer. This is like hiring a personal chef. By nature you're outsourcing some control to someone else. That's built entirely on trust. This action demonstrates a complete lack of trust.

Doesn't take much to find MSRP on Sonos, EA controllers, etc. Maybe not the Networking gear that was spec'd but either way I agree - ask for references, try to see finished installs if possible to get real world demonstrations, etc
Ha - exactly. Maybe you have an allergy to something, so why would I recommend that off the menu to you.
Basically - lots of people here can help, but there is no starting point to help.

You'll notice a theme in your feedback is imploring you to express what you actually want to accomplish and/or what you think might be wrong with the proposals you've received.
An example of a useful question might be: "I really value high-quality audio and I want music throughout my home. My dealer has proposed Sonos, but I'm concerned that this system will not live up to my expectations. Am I worrying over nothing or is there another solution that might better meet my needs?"
What you've basically done is cut and paste a restaurant's menu and asked "Whadda ya think, food-wise?"

If the house is 5,000 ft² spending $3,500 on networking does not seem unrealistic at all

So your saying you think the price for a 15,000 square foot mansion total whole House network should be $3500 lol. Ok let me know When you find that tech company to do that.

You can get them, you just have to sign up for email notifications and be quick... No doubt high demand and tight supply.

I've only been selling Ubiquiti for 5-6 years so I haven't seen this wild and crazy product portfolio everyone seems to mention.

CTMatthew got a reaction from ejn1 in Choosing the right security camera
It doesn't sound like your application would benefit from a Control4 integration in any way. The most popular reasons for integrating cameras are for easy viewing from C4 tablets, integration with intercom features, and potentially programming system events off motion or boundary crossing etc.
It sounds like you need a pure security system that meets your surveillance needs first and foremost.
So choose a camera system that does what you need first and then worry about integration if it adds convenience for you.
(I'm personally using UniFi Protect and love it, but hardly ever view the cameras in Control4)

They probably have a million+ Ubiquiti installs in the market compared to like a 100 Pakedge installs I don't believe its all cost driven.

I got rid of Concord4 a while ago. My wife hated the sonic booms.

Agreed with all of the above, Unifi Protect integrates just fine. We've been super happy deploying Unifi UNVR with G4 Bullets and C4.

CTMatthew got a reaction from leowalton in Neeo Wifi Issues
I obviously can't speak to the precise nature of the hardware faults, but our real world experience with these remotes has lead to a renewed enthusiasm for the SR260.
Of course most problems can be fixed with enough resources poured into them, but that's not why we're in business. We want to deploy reliable solutions that make our clients' lives easier and result in gladly-paid invoices and glowing reviews. We never send out Neeos without SR260s in the van as backup. Because frankly I'd rather swap in a cheaper remote than set a brick of money on fire trying to get it to work. We just prep the client now that they're WiFi and that we can't control for variables other than our network and that we'll gladly refund or deduct the difference and so far we've been good. And they do work in 80% or better of the deployments, but still better to be on the safe side.

You've got some terrific hardware. It would probably be cheaper to find an authorized Ruckus/Access dealer and just pay them time and materials to get you configured for Unleashed than to buy a whole new system. It's like Ferrari not selling you parts directly so you switch to skis.

I mean if you have to pay for support, clearly you should ditch it. I have a data center full of cisco. Gotta pay smart net...must be junk

Almost no-one, considering Control4 doesn't directly sell you stuff, nor setup any systems.
At least bother to troll properly 🤭
