therockhr
This looks to be a pretty nice product. A touchscreen device that cost < $200 ($150 right now) that replaces a since light switch or bank of light switches. The touchscreen has a camera and alexa built into it. Looks like it works with Sonos, Bose, Wink, Smartthings, Ring, Honeywell and others. Will be interesting to see if this things works as well as the demo. Regardless, I think that the idea of having Alexa built into the touchscreen is something that Control4 needs to follow. https://www.brilliant.tech/ turls and randallshelley
thegreatheed
Agreed. I would love to see Alexa built into the C4 touch screens.

konieczn
I saw this posted earlier on a separate site, and was waiting for someone to post here on C4 to see what the comments will be.
derickson1472
This is Brilliant! I love the look and how they fit into your current boxes and have the screen with video room to room and alexa built in....and their prices are insanely cheap based on what it does. Control4 should buy them or partner with them (or other way around)!!! msgreenf

What worries me there is no specs for specific lighting loads, as you should stay well below 600w for LED due to inrush current. Not to mention they say you can do a fan? Curious how they worked that out. Also would have been nice to say see a bigger test case where there are a lot more lights/devices. See how well it works for voice control then. Could be interesting though.
knowitall
Thx Cy overlooked that. Interested in fan control as well 3.0 better have some serious TP upgrades South Africa C4 user

The price point, device compatibility and use of touchscreen to replace bank of switches make this an interesting product to watch.
turls
I thought Amazon pretty much locked down the voice control to their own devices, so the open source versions have to have a button pressed to receive input. This seems to get around that somehow...
derickson1472
Just sent the company a link to this thread, and that Control4 users would be interested in learning more and if they have contacted Control4 about making a driver or anything? thegizzard
Since C4 is compatible with Alexa, can C4 control these lights out of the box?

AVS is capable of controlling Control4 via the Control4 skill.
thegizzard
Ok. That makes sense. Don't you think C4 would see this as a competing product? This looking like it would kill C4 light switch sales, and possibly touchscreens as well for those just looking for an intercom.
tbutman8
zero percent chance this product comes to market as "advertised".

Does it have potential, sure...but no killer yet thegizzard

Oh and...it's not out yet! Mind you - it looks like a sleek product, but unless they create bigger interoperability to other systems (HomeKit is one they state they can't do and their initial product will never be able to do). At this time though, the whole product is basically vaporware....albeit good looking vaporware! thegizzard

tbutman8
Are you putting it in the "too good to be true" category? Yes. If any of you are thinking of preordering this -- send me your cash, I will donate as my own to a reputable 501©(3) charity, then send you a years worth of emails about "tooling" complications, and then never send you anything. PM me and I will give you my address. I hope I'm wrong but I know I'm right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
therockhr
I would say this never comes to market either. I would imagine they are trying to get bought.
