Anyways, I digress...if you have an opnion on what the big news is, feel free to share it, rather than just poo-pooing other people's guesses/jokes.

I do and I posted it way up thread - automobile integration based on a press release from C4 back in 2016 or something and they showed it off at CES as a concept.  And I clearly agreed that shades is a missing product line within C4 and would make sense, the hint given about backing up the truck didnt scream shades to me though.

something similar to this, IMO, would be the best announcement!

give me some 0-9 action and I'd be a buyer

not sure if there are enough icon favorite in that area of the touch screen to appease the wife and her hunting around for content.

Speaking of reading, I'm not sure where you read anything about backing up a truck? Please do share that post.

The hint was that you're gonna need a bigger truck. Which I guess could be the case if your opinion turns out to be correct and we actually had to deliver actual vehicles with Control4 integrated into them (which I've never once had a customer ask me for by the way)

It says you'll need a bigger truck, nothing about backing up a truck.  you are right again.  That is like someone saying the sky is red when it's really blue - totally night and day difference.  you win again.  Ari 2, Eric 0.

Ive always thought it would be great if I pull into my garage and whatever SiriusXM station I am listening to would continue to play in my house. That seems like slick automation.  There is Android Auto and CarPlay - C4 is super Niche but would be nice if it got integrated somehow into cars.  Then you have cars like Telsa that could have a lot more integration.  Could integrate cars with garage doors/exterior fences, geofencing, etc.

Swipe Or press right for more Favs !

yeah I'd assume that is how it would go.  for some people channel surfing is a hard habit to break.  And what if they do not have icons for all the channels you watch?  It looks slick but personally (and I said this about the current Neeo) I would not want to rely on a touch screen to do the heavy lifting for interaction with TV.  if I did, I would just use my iphone and the iOS app and save $600+ on a touch screen remote.  Just my opinion, on a remote I want hard buttons.  I am probably in the minority but I went from cable to cord cutting with Hulu back to cable and channel surfing/control was one of the reasons.

from a PR marketing appeal, those touch screen remotes LOOK great. don't get me wrong.  Just not sure i'd be happy using one long term.  I do not have to look down to put in 02 to get to CBS, but I'd have to look down to see what square I need to press to watch CBS.

Right , so would you say this remote would work for your needs ?

no because I like to channel surf without looking at the remote.

if you are using Crestron as the example - I like the one above.

channel #s plus engraveable keycaps on top.  100% agree its less attractive/sexy from a marketing standpoint but its a better functioning remote if someone has cable and they channel surf (in my opinion)

Did anyone read Snap’s twitter post on the matter?

It has the bigger truck line but also adds “Grow your business, get rewarded. Find out how feb 24th”

That doesn’t sound like a new product announcement to me.

trucks?  grow?

Snap AV is getting into the build a greenhouse business 🙂

Could automate sprinklers in there and all other things greenhouse/gardening related.

always fun to speculate

Yea man the 302 feels like a more premium remote. I wish C4 would come out with a wider range of remotes to suit different needs, I would love to see a simple waterproof remote for bathrooms and other wet rooms
