Broadcast voice message to audio zones

Recommended Posts

I know I can use Intercom to broadcast to select intercom devices, but what about one-way voice messages to selected audio zones instead of (or in addition to) intercom devices?   Is there a standard way to do that?

I'm imagining using recorded live voice (speak into iPhone mic) as input, but I suppose a Text-to-Speech generated audio file would be OK, too--- and could be helpful for dynamic voice feedback.

I'm plan to add Josh.ai eventually (I assume pretty easy to do once that is set up), but wondering if there is a way to do from within standard Control4 setup with a driver I don't know about.

Thanks!

If its just a couple of routine broadcasts, "Dinners Ready", then you can just use the Annouincement Agent built in to play a WAV file.

I'm finding that my announcements work like 25% of the time.  They will work fine for a while, and then just randomly stop.  Not something I have been able to dig into yet, but I'm using native C4 audio+Triad matrix, etc.  I thought it may be a timing thing (announcement fires before the amps turn on, etc), but not sure.  I added a delay to the announcements, but it hasn't fixed it.

Just to add - the Text to Speech driver linked above does also provide the ability to record your voice and send that through speakers 😄

The only thing it does not do (nudge nudge - @Shivam Paw) is allow one to add a blank space of x seconds in a message…
