  1. You hear a lot of things on these boards that are quite inaccurate.
  2. If I had to guess, the driver was built using the original DSC driver, and that's why it got flagged. As I understand it, Composer checks the source codes for drivers, not any name etc. In other words, drivers aren't blacklisted as such, specific codes and tags are.
  3. Note that Works with Nest is announced to be killed off, can't be sure yet if it will get replaced with works with google assist, or when... C4's nest drivers are all works with nest drivers.
  4. Control4 never really pre-announced, even before they went to the stock market
  5. Assuming your Concord is on a new enough (meaning not a very old) firmware.
  6. Probably, or they like would have preferred to do the same as they are doing with the HC800. Oh I'm sure some will yell that it's a money grab, but I sincerely doubt that's true. There's something there preventing it directly (storage capacity for example) or indirectly like the cost of making it work (not just for the initial release but any following updates) -which could well be tremendous- didn't outweigh the inevitable lash-back. I don't claim to know the reasoning as such - but there's ALWAYS people complaining when something gets dropped (including myself I should add).
  7. Keep in mind that Google is killing off Works with Nest in the next few months. While C4 have announced they will work towards integrating using the Works with Google Assist that it will change to, there's no telling if this will be a smooth transition, if there will be a time gap etc.
  8. Exactly WHY would an onscreen nav require 4K?
  9. You realize C4 sold pre-built racks once upon a time right?
  10. Uhuh, feel free to post it here along with the sender.
  11. Snap's 'partnering' and buyouts have been a mixed bag. Just look at Houselogix and how that basically killed that company. No issues with Snap as such, for their core business, but I wouldn't judge what happens in this scenario based on that at all (Same if it were the other way around mind you, C4 has the same mixed bag of how they handled take-overs). Note that I'm not expecting it to go bad - just not expecting it to go good either, it's going to be a big wait and see. That is arguably the one thing I really don't like at this point - wait and see is not my favorite approach
  12. Oh yes, the goal would be to try and get Snap (or to be exact the company owning Snap) to pay more - not to stop it.
  13. Based on this thread 3.0 is in the making for nearly 2 years!
  14. Oh? Why would you be confident about that? There's no reason to assume either way at this point I agree (even if that completely undermines your own 'confidence' ) This is all very early yet, no certainty it will even happen at all as of yet, let alone how it will work out. Why? Many dealers already use SnapAV, and Snap is a closed dealer system company...
  15. One of multiple lawyer companies hoping to gain in a lawsuit
  16. That would be Monoprice - or maybe that's the dollarstore
  17. News to me. But I can tell you that I can decode Atmos from Two BluRay players and two Rokus no issue. I don't use AppleTV.
  18. There's your sign.... Commercial job rule number one: Use product you know and trust Out of town job rule number one: Use product you know and trust LOL, politely being dangled by the nose Look, nobody truly blames an individual for trying to save money. You win some, you lose some. But as a pro installer, you have a responsibility to ensure you're well informed, and you're expected to know your product. Sure, in the custom space, there will be items that are new and you haven't used. Plus you have to start somewhere. But on base items like a video switch, going with the cheapest option possible......... Here's a hint - the only thread I'm able to find under the dealer forums for Control4 for No Hassle AV.....is pointed to this very thread.
  19. Easter is serious business It isn't easy to get all those easter eggs around the world!
  20. And? There was a hype being built up, thinking it might be a PYNG style device (how's that going by the way?) that would then allow people to set up their own C4 system. My point still stands, you were speculating over something that, at the time, was only paperwork, and with no confirmation that paperwork was even real, in the sense that it wasn't just a generic fcc filing for a product that made it past a prototype, if it even made it that far.
  21. I'm not classifying every rumour as malcontent, however spouting about HE 'being removed' with it being, as it stands, the singular method the end-user has to program the system (when/then doesn't come close) is something I DO see as such. And of course you won't state the name. But is suppose we'll never know if this dealer even exists do we? Regardless, it's a baseless rumour. And complete non-sense unless proven otherwise. I'm aware you weren't the only one saying it, you just want to state you have the same information 'from a dealer' which is arguably worse than a random statement.
  22. Please provide me his or her name and number, company information and more and I'll maybe believe a dealer told you anything along these lines at all, after I speak to this person. As far as I'm concerned, this is pure nonsense and if there is even anything that could be considered a rumour at all about it, it feels like nothing else but an attempt to spread malcontent. Makes me almost miss WAP's crusade against Control4's failing to stop HDMI from existing.....
  23. ? You're talking about a rumour concerning a rumour (HE being removed - a rumour, OS 3.0 coming - a rumour), and a rumour on top of that (delays) Rumours are rarely true, and I haven't even HEARD about these rumours until you mentioned them. So stop spreading rumours.
