msgreenf reacted to Darin, PM C4 CX Platform in composer HE bug after upgrade to 3.4.1.701303
A couple additional issues surfaced during the beta, so those are being addressed now with a new HE build that should go out for testing soon. We'll be rolling the HE update out once testing and validation pass successfully. We have also identified the gap in testing that allowed this to slip out in an unfunctional state and have updated our testing/release process for HE to ensure this shouldn't happen again in the future.

Went from 2.10.6 to 3.0 to 3.1 to 3.3 to 3.4.1 just to make sure everything took (Going from HC800 to EA5)
Made backups along the way of each one.

A roll back is just that. A roll back to the state as of the backup

@Vish I wouldn't have to redo the programming sir. I made backups on every revision after 2.10.6 all the way to 3.4.1. Been doing this a long time, and I try my best to make sure that nothing needs to be re-done.
I can't fix composer HE, but I can make sure everything that I've done up until this point is secure, which it is.

His dealer did make backups, several in fact. This project was way more than just updating drivers, and just about everything that can go wrong did, coupled with a pretty substantial time zone difference, it wasn't an easy lift.

Ratgdo == Rage Against the Garage Door Opener.
Pretty funny, but true...

Just hooked my Ratgdo (Such a weird name) up today. Works like a champ! Gives full state of the door and exposes the door motor light, obstruction sensor, and Motion from Keypad to the Control4 UI via Alan's driver.
Definitely a good solution and great driver @alanchow!!

New Update has been pushed today, and is a major update. It introduces a number of new features including
Improved Lighting Presets Support (Dim To Warm, fade to color, Previous and set preset), major bug fixes Greatly improved performance (in some synthetic benchmark tests of certain operations, there was a 14x performance improvement), reduced memory usage and all of those tests showed benefits (these are some of the same optimisations that were rolled already into the ELK M1 Betas) There is a more complete list of updates from: https://chowmain.software/drivers/control4-shelly-generic#revisions

If your dealer was paying attention to your needs for HE they maybe wouldn't have installed 3.4.1. Doesn't seem smart to install bleeding edge for a new customer.

msgreenf reacted to Cyknight in Custom wallpaper on T2 touchscreens
T2? Heh that's not really a thing but sure. Yes, 4Store is long gone - if you want true custom wall papers, you really want to upgrade to a 3.x system and T3's/T4's - upload whatever you want, room by room and so on.

msgreenf reacted to Andrew luecke in Chowmain - TP-Link Wifi Smart Home Driver Suite
I have seen a case where Self-healing broke a few months later, but it seemed related to the network broadcasts breaking on the network itself (for whatever reason). We also have a fix in the beta for a case where the controller for whatever reason, doesn't have an IP (and not sure why). Put the main controller on a static IP too and that might help.
But the beta has all kinds of problems currently which are still being worked through unfortunately (so we recommend people use the stable of the TPLink KASA lights at the moment)

Not every client is respectful.
Not every dealer is responsive.
Talking to my rep team a few months back, it was clear that it's a big issue for many, and for Control4, than most of us are aware of.

msgreenf reacted to Darin, PM C4 CX Platform in OS3.4.1
I just spoke with the Composer team and it sounds like if testing goes well then a new update should be rolling out next week that will resolve the issue with Composer HE and OS 3.4.1

I have just received my little 5.5" Axion touchscreen, which on first inspection looks to be well constructed.
First job was to hook it up to a Poe network cable for Power and Network.
Then added the C4 OS3 APP and all looks good so far, the screen Autorotates depends on physical orientation Landscape/Portrait etc. so thats good and the Intercom seems to work fine.
So so far all good.
