  1. The troll goes on, but really it’s the case with every single forum I’ve been in the last 20 yrs not only c4forums! We never came across some one really gave any meaningful info or shed a light on the break through he/she made walking away from c4 into the unknown world of DIY! Well, I was there, I had the time, passion, knowledge and money to experience this but I was bored to death! My eyes get tired of going through tons of configuration files, trails, workarounds, constant upgrades just to keep the light on. Nothing is abstract. No single experience like the other but at the end I don’t get those people who come along into a gathering of same mutual interests and start bombing around and making a mess
  2. I use DTI driver now, the best driver available for C4, it’s so powerful and allows to easily to add/remove devices for every room, not to mention it has TV function as well. Geofencing is one of the best currently and it’s accurate for my requirements
  3. Okay make sense, but your performance boost is not related to removing sharebridge rather the Ping driver! Am pretty sure if u put sharibridge back nothing will happen!
  4. Yeah Ping is a killer driver for sure! I also remove Houselogix drivers a long time ago, cloud drivers removed years before, what is really surprising me the Shairbridge one, so if you don't have Apple ecosystem you may not use the driver but removing it improves performance? So are you running OS3.3 on HC800?
  5. Can u just PM me with the driver(s) that caused this slow issues, this will be great for me to go back and remove the list of director error logs!
  6. If you renamed the driver you will face that, if renaming the Alt version and updating the driver you will lose the original graphics in exchange for a CD. To fix this, remove the driver all together, add it again correctly and refresh navigators, just be careful as you will lose bindings with this, so add the proper driver and I suggest you use the Alt version from Jesse driver, re-bind, remove the existing driver.
  7. I switched off my Somfy URTSII in exchange for controlling the 16 Blinds in house via Bond, two issues I face, there is an “?” For most of the blinds in any UI in Control4 in any position, also this renders all blinds not usable with HomeKit as it reports -1 position for any kind at any given time which makes all blinds Accessories not responding, anyway to fix that!? The URTSII was reporting correctly and am not sure but it’s oneway as well!
  8. Gentlemen I had the best of both worlds! Everything is controlled via C4, all programing logic is there, am not convinced with anything else, I also have a decent dealer. The DIY side resides in two parts, continuously upgrading non C4 components; network/cams/speakers/Streamers, etc, things that are easily done via ComposerHE, the other side is tapping into MQTT world and integrating a lot of these devices to C4, this part after getting the driver is maintained by me, once you are settled there is little to be done, but overall no one tinkers forever!
  9. One thing that is lovely with HomeKit is auto-switching of homes by location, something I wish C4 would consider, but the use case is very weak I guess!
  10. I went the full extreme, deployed an EA1/CA1 @ my summer house, just to get rid of all these remotes in Family/Master Rooms, I have 3 TV's only, added a Soundbar with a built in FTV, a couple of Sonos speakers for distributed Audio, a projector for backyard nights and A/C automation with Sensibo, through some R260 Remotes and some GlobalCache for ZIR, no T3/T4 just Android desktops and life is so good
  11. Putting DIY vs professional HA systems aside, the Geofencing/Occupancy is of great importance and I wish we can advance in this area, I find Apple Geofencing is the closest to practice, not yet that accurate but for a commercial system its acceptable to me, 30m and closer to my house the Garage Door Icon Pops up in my CarPlay system is as cool as hell, not ideal but closer to life, I just hit Open when am < 10m, by the time I'm there the door's open, this wasn't there 2 years ago, I believe huge advancements can be achieved, I wish RoomMe comes up with better hardware or a competing technology emerges!
  12. I do this through Fing app, When my boy was crazy one day, Punish came through Fing, we basically stopped all his favorite devices to get Internet access, and he was about to get mad, but the punishment was effective! No need to remove devices, just have it local which he can’t do much, also no Internet means there is no way out. You can build schedules as well, limiting after hours access to anything!
  13. Geofencing is totally different than room presence, occupancy sensors are laking and there are very few choices for a good solution for that, RoomMe is not bad but I have been waiting for their Gen 2 hardware for too long now that I lost interest, it’s not fancy tech but it’s very much needed for homes, at least my home!
  14. That is cool, I started with HA 7 years ago but get board and decided to go for C4, I still have it running over my Synology NAS. It’s pretty powerful but very DIY and with me coming older, I don’t have the time or capacity to tinker around anymore, I just need something that works and OS3 is just works and my family approved it, my wife never approved HA, so here we are
  15. It was not last year, it was this year, great addition by any means! If you don’t mind can u share with us your HA Interface?
  16. This is not correct, you need newer screens T3 or T4 to run with your HC800 on OS3.3 not an EA controller!
  17. Yea, each phone that have intercom need a separate account, u can create these in customer.control4.com, log out and log in to your system in OS3 app with individual accounts. Let’s do that first then will see, but generally Intercom on Phones will rang even if you answer the call on screens, etc, there is no way you can silence it. I also think there is a bug with Android that it rang longer than IOS, in any case we stopped receiving Intercom calls on mobile devices, performance is lousy and we receive audio only calls, etc!
  18. If you want to move away from C4, first, post in other forums
  19. SSO and QR code makes it easy and it’s really not that hard, we are just discussing the fact that Audio Distrbution is more appealing to new installs than the Video one, any one with luxury budget and out of this discussion will go for the full shebang, am just saying the VD trend is downward, will always be there, but not for the masses as adoption will for sure decline over time! Am also sure there will be some disruption in A/V in general and new techs will emerge.
  20. I had setup the driver with a project running OS3.3, I have several issues, in a nutshell: - Driver has issues working with Shutters using Bond Bridge, some Shutters works others show "No Response" and therefore these doesn't work from Apple Home App - Lighting Scenes have issues, they don't work and they reappear in other rooms? Even after removing it from the designated room, the other room that shows it still shows it with No Response warning, I can't remove it from HomeKit as well, JSON doesn't expose list of devices - Driver doesn't work with the legacy Wireless Outlet Dimmer LOZ-5D1 - Driver has some issues with Contact Sensors, I believe its sensitive to naming convention of HomeKit, but sill some devices appear in HomeKit after renaming, others doesn't show While the drivers is wonderful, fast and makes life easy with zero touch of missy homekit Jason, etc. I might have these small issues that need a remote login to my system or whatever logs you need I can share just point me to the right direction.
  21. Exactly DSLR’s are not for the masses, I have 2 BTW, I still love my Nikon and Lenses Kits, I hear you, phones can only do one thing good being a phone. My Point of View here; Video Distrbution is an ancient setup, if what you have is streaming service, then u probably end up with one or two streamers max for every TV, so if you don’t do cable, satellite, etc. what are you going to distribute, this is the argument.
  22. I believe with the good and cheap streamers market out there (excluding Apple); the use for video distribution diminishes, if you put 2~3 streams at every TV u will save tons of money! If you don’t have cable then there absolutely no need for it, so am sure less and less home owners will use it, remember DSLR’s!?
