Main Lighting has to be reliable ,100% reliable, I use Centralized Panels with Normal Toggle Switches on 2 x IO Extenders, robust, never complained, I added more Wireless Lights with Puck Switches and Dimmers for creating a healthy Zigbee Mesh around the house ... My setup is for International Market, all 220 VAC.

No problems, I want to thank you for your excellent work on the drivers and the fact that you had opened up a whole new world with C4!

    @Amr
Here is the way I have mine setup. All that is needed for basic control in the Berto_MQTTBridge configuration is the server info. Everything else for Sonoff relays is done through the Berto_SonoffRelay and Berto_RelayLight.  First make sure what topic you have configured as the Topic on the sonoff under Configuration> Configure MQTT and make sure that that is entered exactly (case sensitive) under the topic on the Berto_SonoffRelay configuration in composer.  Once that is verified then a standard connection needs to be made between Berto_SonoffRelay and the Berto_RelayLight.  Let me know if this helps or you have any more questions on it.

    2. Managed switches are not recommended by C4 but I do have a Cisco Managed Switch and it works fine with C4, just make sure u turn off spanning tree, QoS, etc.
    3. Google WiFi is a mesh system and it’s not supported with C4, If you can lay down Cat6 to a centralized location, then Go UiFi AP’s, they are not supported by C4 thought but works for me without any issue.
    4. No monoprice please, rubbish by all means, your don’t spend 1000’s and on a vital component you introduce a piece of garbage, am sorry for this but my experience with monoprice is really bad, totally unpredictable performance and a very bad aftersales Support, go with any other reputable brand C4 8x8 or a compatible one, that’s my 2 cents.

£300 is a fortune where I live ... Am done with C4 hardware, that's it ... Am planning a full exit except controllers, design is underway, sourcing will be in summer and by Sep/Oct I will have the new Hybrid ... Am just taking my time for the UI, all I need is a good Intercom in every room ...

    Hi Folks,
I’m the Manager of the Mobile and Embedded UI teams at Control4. I’m sorry to hear that you are having issues with your T3s! As has been confirmed we had an issue with doorstations calling T3s which results in long early media delays (when you first see the video before answering). We have a fix and it is currently being tested. I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised by the intercom performance when the fix is released. The  posts about a one to two week turn around is still accurate. I also want to assure you that we have an internal process in place to make sure we avoid these types of issues happening again. This specific issue was due to not testing calls from a doorstation to T3 on a large system. We have different scale racks with 18+ touch panels around the company, but the team responsible for this kind of testing hasn’t had the access they need. We are currently working on fixing that.
Re the other T3 issue the OP referred to, I am unaware of that particular issue. Please work with your dealer to send us the system logs. We are very interested in taking a look.
I appreciate everyone’s patience as we work through these issues! This was a HUGE release with a lot of moving parts. The great thing about Control4 is most of the employees are also customers. We want our houses to work well too! I have seven touch panels (4 in-wall, 3 table top). If my system doesn’t work well my family lets me know.
Thank you for reading, sorry it was a long one 😁

They make money on the sale of hardware, not really the sale of software.
It's crazy when people throw out comparisons of upgrading your iPhone every 2 years.  I use my iPhone more then my Control4 system in its entirety, let alone a touchscreen, controller, etc.
Chalk it up as a lesson learned and minimize your investment in Control4 products.  Whenever possible buy third party products.  No more touchscreens, speaker points and controllers behind TV's for me.

In an update mainly focused on UI changes, I can't understand why they stop support of items like door stations and speaker points. Even a controller that is more a slave than a primary unit, why would you not just support it albeit on older firmware?
All driven at selling more hardware. In an industry of pretty poor suppliers and some new upcoming players why would you alienate everyone?

We are not comparing anything, it’s an alternative solution for anyone who is keen to test and wants to cut costs with a killer retrofit solution.

Amr got a reaction from eggzlot in DLNA/C4/Synology - having issues - need a new plan?
Let me explain my setup as I do have HC800 and Synology 415+:
All my Music is located under music folder on Synology, many sub folders Jazz/Classics/etc. iTunes Server is running on Synology as well (its an app, so install it and configure it) I have an always-on PC that have the iTunes windows app read all music from Synology Server Indexed Library, so nothing is duplicated either on the server nor the NAS Now, DLNA Music on C4 is configured to read the Music folder on the 415+ iTunes/Airplay Driver on C4 is configured to connect to Itunes app on the PC So I have both DLNA Music and iTunes in C4 Let me know is this makes sense to you?
