mstafford388 got a reaction from msgreenf in Composer update?
Pretty much just to add engraving options for the new lighting plastics.

Meanwell power supplies is all I use and come in many different sizes and flavors.

mstafford388 got a reaction from Time2Jet in How many screens do you have and why?
It's much more natural the way you talk to it and you can also stack commands among other things.

The CA-10 is badass but won't help if you're maxed out on Zigbee as it doesn't run a Zserver. You would want an additional EA controller or a CA-1 to add another mesh. The CA does add loads of processing power and some redundancy features though. It will give you a noticeable difference in speed with certain functions of your project.

The layout will always be a double high button on the bottom and 4 single high buttons above that. Dealers cannot change that. You can change the functionality of the buttons, but not the layout of the buttons.

No, the button layout for fan speed controller are fixed. You can program the buttons to do whatever you want though.

I've gotten my hands on some and they have a really great feel to them. I'm pretty impressed. I would also add while not officially, they really are compatible with decora plates, they are just slightly smaller than a decora opening. The gap is also not really noticeable and helps manage buttons not working properly when not perfectly lined up.

mstafford388 got a reaction from Topfox in LU1E Dead…power flickers
Their higher end ones do, but I've never tried to send network through a LU matrix to an AVPro receiver to be able to say if that works or how reliably.

mstafford388 got a reaction from Matt Mackenzie in In-ceiling speakers are buzzing
It could be the amp, cables, a grounding issue, or the source. I would unplug all the audio cables coming into the amp and see if it goes away. If not it's an amp or grounding issue with the amp. If it does go away it's likely a bad cable or source, which you should be able to track down by plugging things back in one by one.

Is it? A Sonos Port is almost that much and gives you nothing except an audio output.

Well using your examples....most of those devices (appletv, roku, blu ray, etc) have gotten rid of their additional audio output and are now HDMI only as well. TV's are really the only ones keeping them and they are forced to for all of the people simply using powered sound bars for better TV audio. I'm with you though, a simple adapter is an easy fix, especially for you as an end user. It gets a little crappier for us dealers as those things fail or need to be rebooted constantly after some time. We refuse to put them in, luckily with a little customer education and setting expectations we rarely have a hard time spec'ing the correct C4 controller vs adapter workarounds.

That's not exactly comparing apples to apples though for $10. That adapter doesn't provide an additional stream, it just taps into the hdmi stream. The EA 3 provides 2 additional, independent music streams (as well as more processing etc).

mstafford388 got a reaction from msgreenf in Zigbee - how to determine a device's Zigbee coordinator
You used to be able to get some of that stuff through ssh (outside of composer) but alas no longer. Unplug a controller not running director and see what devices no longer respond in the app is a cumbersome way to do it. Even if you figure that out you'll need a dealer to re-identify them to the proper Zigbee server anyway so I'd probably just get one involved for the troubleshooting part.

mstafford388 got a reaction from Time2Jet in Programing help
For this to work properly you need to create the video and audio path from the LD to the anthem. Just have your dealer create a "virtual" driver in the driver wizard that has RCA inputs and HDMI outputs. Just make sure he checks the box to allow the driver to convert signal types. Then bind the LD to the inputs of that driver, then the output of that driver to the Anthem. Easy peasy.

Or this, although If they don't understand needing a video path they may have a tough go at figuring that driver out

The android app is currently gone from the playstore. You need to go through the amazon app store for the time being.

mstafford388 got a reaction from Andrew luecke in Make a MAC version
sounds like you're talking about the desktop app not composer and hardly anyone uses/used the desktop app so I wouldn't hold your breath on that one. Also, Savant has focused on Mac users all along and it hasn't gotten them far.

mstafford388 got a reaction from Hasnat in Escalator power control
What is your involvement in this? Are you the escalator guy? A Control4 dealer? What else would Control4 be doing there. The reason I ask is if it's just some motion activated escalators I don't think I'd involve Control4 products in that. There really isn't a blanket answer on this one, you'll need to work with the escalator company to figure out how to make this happen and what you can control on there end and how to control it. For what it's worth, if that is the whole scope I don't think I'd let my company get involved in that, and it is extremely rare that we turn down any kind of business. There just seems like too much liability and/or issues.

mstafford388 got a reaction from leowalton in Neeo Wifi Issues
The other thing you can do is block the mac of the neeo from other access points you don't want them accidentally jumping to. I've done that on a job or two where they were hopping, and it's solved issues. immediately. No need to change broadcast power, ssid's or anything else with the rest of the network.
