  1. I'm sure you can make your own. Lots of free examples for the FireTV. A few edits and you are on your way...
  2. The buttons on that page were not functional, but are now functional. Free trial buttons are not functional on this page: https://splash-tiles.com/index.php
  3. Yes. I was able to log in after verification, but not prior. Also, my verification went to spam on office 365.
  4. Cool. Clicking on free trial doesn't seem to do anything. I have an account, but I'm unable to create a browser device. I think perhaps I've skipped an important step or my Chrome browser is blocking some features. I'm posting here in case others face the same hurdle in just getting started.
  5. Does the Shineco device have passthrough by any chance? That would be of interest as it would save some clutter. Got a model number I can look for? Thank you.
  6. @videostorm I'm curious about the current state of 4K support and h265 encoding and playback. I saw a newer product from Uray for 4k encoding that had a record button. Similar price point, but maybe slightly better specs. UHE265-1S-4K. What's your advice at this point in time for the best experience with the highest resolution/quality?
  7. Or maybe just use the Alexa app on a phone or tablet?
  8. The HEOS preamp above would permit 4 concurrent distinct streams and control from any location. @msgreenf if a person wanted 4 concurrent streams into a matrix controllable from any Alexa can that be done with your approach? I'm guessing 4 echo's in the rack.
  9. Yes. Contact Sensor or Motion Sensor's can trigger Echo routines....and these can be simulated.
  10. HEOS can do this kind of thing. Maybe this: https://usa.denon.com/us/heos/heos-superlink Edit: https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/denheossuperlink/heos-heos-superlink-multi-room/multi-zone-preamp/1.html refurb
  11. If you have an ethernet cable that terminates at your rack running to the speakerpoint you could just use baluns, no? I'm assuming you are deleting the speakerpoint and replacing with some sort of amp.
  12. Still wish Dolby Vision was possible on the HDBaseT. Maybe its an unrealistic desire. Nice upgrade. I see one HDR HDbaseT unit in the dropdown clearly labelled v2, but maybe there are others. I got tired of picklist pecking. I wonder if they are ever going to get their website up and running? Been a year I think. It would be nice to see better product pages. It's hard running a small business and I can appreciate the frustration of trying to build a website that people like.
  13. I think this is just a matrix and not HDbaseT. Looks like a nice little unit if you can run HDMI to your TV's or want some crazy daisy chained switching.
  14. yea, my bad for the paste issue on the link. This is what I intended to include. http://nohassleav.com/8x8_hdmi_hdr/after_dec_15th/New_simplified_RS232_IP_commands.txt Maybe you need a CR. Try a reboot: @T 50 ! Seems like you could use a shell_command or a command_line switch. It's possible the vendor knows nothing of the internals of this unit including any telnet account or credentials. I think they are a reseller.
  15. I wonder if you tried emailing them? You can us simple IP control on these. Just give it a fixed IP and use port 5000. http://www.c4forums.com/lostpassword/?do=validate&vid=4afda5bff1a6bb426cdfb27a6159c368&mid=141751 What are you using for your "Home Automation System"?
  16. Thanks. I hadn't seen that one. I did some google-fu and found an amusing PPT deck on the backend platform with the following statement: I like cool features just like the other guy, but because I am in the data business I'm actually more inclined to use stupid products or products that don't leak data off-prem. Not to say I wouldn't give up some privacy or embrace being the product where it's a fair trade. But turning off my water when there is a leak is not really in that ballpark. With a device like this you can infer quite a bit of behavior and occupancy.
  17. Forgive me. Thanks. I see their music mode using set_music. Makes the lights listen to a port. Interesting. When not in this mode communication appears to be synchronous.
  18. Cool. With other systems if you use an async http call and do not wait for the response you can shave off some time returning. No idea how you have it working. So C4 can persist http connections to some large number? Is there a hard limit on total concurrent "sessions" you can reasonably expect to manage across all drivers?
  19. Maybe. But if you have 20 drivers reducing their execution time to perform an action can help performance overall. C4 isn't running all 20 in parallel with 20 threads. I'm guessing every ms counts.
  20. I think you can simulate async calls by setting the timeout on the socket to a low number. I am not certain. That could potentially be used to reduce delay.
  21. Bought a half dozen during prime day for $35 each plus the ethernet adapter just for VS. Really like the Shields I have esp with the new updates, but cannot pass up 35 buck FireTV.
  22. Depends. There are several switches and PoE injector options that can be automated to cycle a port.
  23. Too bad they no longer sell Pixel C tablets.
