I think there are a few here, myself included, that have Ubiquiti setups without issues. What doesn't work?
I believe with Packedge you won't have any remote management capability without being a dealer. Could be wrong.
I have had to deal with them way to much recently, such a pain.
If you are not doing anything the requires the transfer of large amounts of data in timely matter you would want fast service. I have a site-to-site VPN between home and work where I have Hyper-v servers running replication for failover. The faster the better. Doubt many people are doing this.
You should be able to log into your modem and check power levels and corrected/uncorrected codewords to give you and idea if there is a signal issue.
I hate Comcast tech support (and customer support). Switching over to synchronous fiber at my business just to get away from them. Still have them at my house because there are no 1gig fiber options. Hopefully soon.
Never done it, but I think you would want to use a normal switch and a 120v relay to do the switching or a keypad that controls a zigbee remote relay. Could even run it back to the controller if it has any free relays. Electrician should have a good idea on how he would prefer to wire it.
I'm with Eggslot on the BlueIris route if it isn't to much of a pain to run Cat6. Gives you the ability to run just about any IP camera out there. Can get decent cameras for cheap on places like Amazon.
Already had the locks.
Did not report lock state fine. It reported the first time it connected after a power cycle but that was it.
Swapped in a C4 module and it all works now.
