I don't believe anyone is required to sign up for Assist, are they? I read it as an optional subscription and Connect as required. Assist would allow the end user to get direct support from Control4 for some things, rather than having to call their dealer.

@South Africa C4 user, thanks for letting us know. I’ll get a bug submitted and take a look.

We have been looking into issues when switching properties over the last couple of days and hope to get a fix into one of the next app updates. Connection issues when simply launching the app would be a new issue. Send logs to Darin or myself and we will get them into the right hands to be reviewed.

    @antneed,
I'm not aware of any outstanding issues.  Can you attempt to connect over 5G, then email yourself the mobile app logs, and DM them to me?  Once I have your logs, I can have an iOS engineer take a look.

The steps to get you mobile app logs are below:

Getting Mobile Logs (New Settings UI)
Menu Settings Support Support Settings Email/Share Logs
Getting Mobile Logs (Old Settings UI)
Menu Settings Preferences (Top right corner) Email/Share Logs

I second that - I’ve worked with Mitch for three years now and he has helped support our systems at two properties. Mitch is incredibly responsive, knowledgeable, experienced, and very reasonable. He’s a pro and we’d be lost without him!

I am sure I don't even need to say it, but Mitch is top notch Control4 programmer. You wont go wrong hiring him.

    Hey Everyone,
thank you for your trust in me to help you with your systems over the years!  I have met and helped many great people and enjoy texting with you all.  I have never raised my rates since I started and I contemplated it last year and held off, but now I will need to raise my hourly rate starting 1/1/2024.
But good news, you can pre-pay for hours at the lower rate if you know you have a project coming up (change will not impact inflight projects).
Thanks again and happy holidays everyone!

    +1
now that I am thinking about it, it would be nice to have a geo tag or Director ip tag based on wifi connection so when I am on a property and open the app it will connect to the current property and not the last connected.

It would be really nice if one could favourite a second residence to the Home Screen on the app.  This would make flipping between residences so much easier!

agreed - I'm okay with creating or adding thumbnails of pictures for each room or a set of stock photos to represent each room in the room/zone list.  However, I don't like that it shows up as the wallpaper background then on that room when viewing all of the controls.  very distracting and pretty poor user interface design, far from elegant and streamlined.  I'd almost go so far as it is pretty terrible compared to background images that are either blurred and non-distracting or have a more refined aesthetic shown by all the other major control systems.  Can easily get demo versions of those apps to do a comparison.  This feels completely hodge-podge and thrown together.

I shared similar feedback that the icon idea is good but they should be different then the background. But the feature was released anyway...

be sure and have them add the Auxiliary Controls.  Dealer did this as shown below (using my Composer HE) and the associated screen shots in the app.  it's not the most elegant of solutions and I typically use the Omnilogic app instead of the C4 one for pool controls (lights, heater, water features) since the driver is quite limited IMO.

I use the vista 20p with the 4232CBM and it has all the integration you could ask for. I dont think the driver is obsolete.

Dueport got a reaction from msgreenf in Yale Assure Lock 2 with fingerprint and Home Keys
I have an update on the fingerprint version which, unfortunately, mirrors your experience. I setup the lock through the Yale app then tried to add the C4 module through the Yale app so the lock would see it and then could start enrollment with C4. Sadly, the lock refused to see the module at all - so, unless I was doing something wrong (which is always possible), my experience is that it appears that the firmware of the fingerprint version won't recognize the module. The normal Assure 2 locks work fine with the C4 module so the firmware between the standard Assure 2 and the fingerprint version are different in that respect. Additionally, I tried enrolling two fingerprints to the lock through the Yale app and found that the fingerprint sensor was extremely unreliable. So much so that we would never use it over simply entering the code. So this fingerprint version is being returned because it won't work directly with the C4 module and the fingerprint sensor doesn't work well. Instead, we'll be using the standard version again because it works with the C4 module and is very reliable. I didn't try the Apple Home Key version of the lock because it doesn't come in the color (oil rubbed bronze) that we need.

Dueport reacted to DanITman in Sun Position Driver - Beta Testers Needed
I wrote a sun positioning driver that I need help testing.
Driver allows you to trigger events in Control4 based on the suns location.  This is great for shades and allows you to mimic control like Lutron's Natural Light Optimization. Driver calculates the sun position based on your project location and timezone.  This driver does not require an outside API and all calculations are done on the driver itself.
Below are the variables that you can use for conditionals.  Driver fires an event on every calculation of the sun position.

Sun Interval: How often the sun position should be calculated.
Azimuth: Direction of the sun as compass coordinates.
Altitude: Angle of the sun in degrees.  (Positive - Sun is above horizon | Negative - Sun is below horizon)
Season: Current Season based on Location
Trending: If the Sun is going UP or DOWN
Last Event: Day, Night, Civil Twilight, Nautical Twilight, Astronomical Twilight, Solar Noon, Solar Midnight
If interested in testing, please DM me your email and I'll send you a beta trial.
    Thanks

Dueport got a reaction from ashwinmj in New Flo Device Coming! Kitchen Faucet?
@Cinegration the driver now is excellent and we've found it very useful in our home.  Looking into the future for the driver and expanding it to include new devices brought into the Flo ecosystem: my feeling is the ability to add more devices into C4 is always best because it expands both integration possibilities that may be immediately obvious but also those that aren't anticipated until you need it - having more tools available is always good and adds value to the driver.  Off the top of my head some immediate possibilities for useful integrations would be: 1.) if the kitchen faucet is running for more than X minutes shut it off; 2.) when the house shutdown macro runs (when people leave and/or when everyone is sleeping) then turn off the kitchen faucet; 3.) if the leak sensor under the kitchen sink detects water shutoff the kitchen sink; 4.) if the low temp sensor in any room detects a low temp turn on the kitchen sink slightly to prevent freezing pipes (this is better than the current implementation the sink supports because it only uses the temp right under the sink); 5.) if the device supports setting temperature limits, then set the max temp at one level normally and another level when the housekeeper is working; 6.) if the faucet turns on when the house is empty trigger the home security system to alarm; 7.) if the faucet has been used recently, don't turn off the lights near the kitchen even if motion hasn't been detected recently in that room (helpful for open layouts to avoid false triggering of lights off on no motion); 8.) if the Flo detects unusual water activity make sure the kitchen sink is off first before shutting down water to the entire house; etc.  These are just a few ideas but I'm sure having the option and more time would yield more possibilities now or in the future.
Additionally, Flo by Mohen may be expanding further in the future - I believe they announced a sump pump at CES that would also be integrated - hopefully the shower too in the future.  So in the future there are likely more devices and integration options that people will want to use through this driver.

Interesting…I have also found that the Home Kit automations do not work as well but I don’t really care. I am going to look into the issue further when I setup the additional locks this coming week.

Not that I see. I do see in Home Kit who locked/unlocked on my phone but not in the C4 App. But I am using the wifi integration right now. I’ll check in composer later today.

I have good news! The Yale Assure Lock 2 Plus (with Apple Home Keys) works with the C4 ZigBee module!
I was using the module in my older Assure Lock gen 1. I swapped out the module to the new lock and registered the module in the Yale app, and it all worked immediately. Nothing had to be done in C4.
I haven't tried it in the model with fingerprint, but I assume it would be the same since the Verge article made it seem like the fingerprint version has wider module support than the Home Keys model.
