    If the Halo is controlling Dish with voice, then that is truly a miracle, since there is currently no voice functionality in the Dish API, and Control4 has not announced supporting voice for Dish...

    So everyone understands.
    Nest thermostats and Smokes were originally setup to integrate through a NEST account, and called Works with Nest.
    Google buys Nest.
    2019 Google presses but doesn't force NEST accounts to move to Google Accounts.
    As long as you didn't add to your Nest system, works with nest continued to integrate, so if you had smokes you want'ed through Control4, you stayed with Works With Nest.
    Anybody setting up a new Nest Thermostat for Control4 integration since 2019 has used a Google account, and NOTHING changes about this or that, so if you've done it since 2019, ignore, it'll all stay functioning, and you're good.
    If your Nest was setup through Works with Nest, you now will need to move it to Google by September, which means smokes no longer will integrate (no API).

    You just have to move over to a Google Account: the thermostats can still be integrated using that - it just doesn't do protect devices.

    Checking on 2.10.6 it's the same: I actually suspect that before OP had the old 'just' lighting scenes used in programming, and upon updating they were transferred over to advanced lighting scenes (as they have to be)

    Actually I didn't noticed there was a drop down menu with the Scenes!!!
    Before on the earliest versions of HE, all lighting scenes would just show up as a list, just the way they show up when you want to create a new lighting scene under programming on the left hand side of HE

    All good now, thanks for your tip!!

    Yes, it's never been the fancy Siri color globe, since that's Apple's thing... It's a pretty basic graphic animation on the Halo display.  You should see Siri's globe on the TV the AppleTV is hooked to.

    Well...ONE concern is that the separators for low and high voltage are missing. This is a big no-no and should NEVER pass inspection.
    If inspection is still to come: I'd be VERY surprised your panels would go, or even be allowed to power on for temporary use.
    That said, fixing it would require an electrician armed with the right knowledge to wire it properly and nicely - whether it's an electrician that's done DIN rail systems, a dealer that has (or is) an electrician or and electrician and a dealer working together properly.

    My concern at this point at the very least if you leave it as is (and thus accept the situation) you're looking at much more time consuming troubleshooting later. And time is money.
    I can tell you that if that was in one of our potential client's houses, and we're taking it over as an active and working mess - we will notify you that any service work related to your lighting hardware will require a redo of the panel.
    I wouldn't want to stick my hands in there.....

    Impossible to pick 3 things…
    1. Music that chooses each family members playlist and follows one around the house via simple button taps;
    2. Automated lighting (e.g. bathrooms, all downstairs and outside lights going off when the alarm is set and certain ones - eg pool - coming back on if the alarm is deactivated and it is night time);
    3. Keypads being used to alert on power outages / borehole water in use  etc. (via red / blue backlights);
    4. Solar and generator control and Smart Control of inverters to avoid overloading the house;
    5. Full visual BMS feedback on power, water and gas use as well as pool heat pumps, HVAC systems, rainfall, temperatures by room, humidity by room etc.
    6. Automated control of aircons, underfloor heating, pool heating, jacuzzi heating, chiller chilling etc. alarm on/off times etc. based on various combinations of modes and parameters (e.g. vacation, in residence, weekend etc,).
    7. Ability to press one or two buttons on my house system to tell it that I will be away in 10 days for 7 days and press another 1 or 2 buttons on my Beach House system to alert it that I will be there in 10 days for 7 days and know that everything will just work (geysers, pool heating, jacuzzi, alarm times etc.).
    7. Voice control of everything from lights, to AV, to blinds and curtains, to jacuzzi cover; and,
    8. Announcements over speaker (both automated and typed in on a touchscreen / iPad.
    And all of this excludes the basics of AV, lighting, comfort, pool control, security and camera integration.
    I am told that I have over 10,000 lines of automation code in my system (which doesn’t really surprise me with over 1,000 drivers and devices) and I love what it does for me.  I get lost when I am away from home as I am so used to “the house” (as my youngest daughter calls it) doing everything for me.

    Daylight Agent adds circadian lighting to Control4
    SnapOne just released the Daylight Agent for Control4. This new agent warms and cools white LED temperatures to the rising and setting of the sun for improved circadian health. By mimicing the color temperatures of natural daylight (waking hours high in blue spectrum/bright and sunsets fall in blue spectrum/warmer/dimmer) artificial lighting helps the body prepare for the day, be most alert when it needs to and prepares the body for rest when its time for sleep.
    Chowmain is proud to announce that we have updated our drivers to support the new Daylight Agent. The following drivers now support the new agent
    Govee Light Group LIFX Shelly Switchbot TP-Link Kasa WiZ Yeelight Haven't used our drivers before? To ensure customer satisfaction all of our drivers come with a 90 day trial. We also offer 50% discounts on licencing for the homes of integrators employees and FREE showroom licencing for integrators who have showrooms.

    To be clear: the SR260 will not do voice control. This is new to the HALO series of remotes (the 'regular' or 'tactile' version is out now, the version with the touchscreen is expected in the next month or two last I heard).
    The hope is that other companies will in fact update to the same hardware firmware (meaning, the OS between rogers and other vs comcast can be different, provide the underlying device firmware is the same). But IF let alone WHEN that happens is unknown.
    Do note that you will HAVE to have the Rogers boxes on the same network as the Control4 system, and this SHOULD mean your Rogers router is not the one handling the boxes. I don't not know if this is possible with Rogers (I expect it is) but I would assume they do not SUPPORT that option - which means they'll not really support you with any issues using the boxes (at least not the moment it becomes apparent that signal issues may be the cause). As such you and/or your dealer will need to be able and willing to take up that 'burden'.

    Early IP control undoubtedly suffered from some reliability issues in general - it was new after all. Speed wise, it's generally been faster - though sometimes not truly noticeable in regular use in most cases. Exceptions exist as always, the initial fireTV driver using ADB was awfully slow - ans some brands had their IP control down pat early on of course.
    These days IP control vs IR control really depends device per device, sometimes site/location be location. What networking is in place, is there a good wire run (wifi control of many devices is limited, though again, there are some that are flawless there as well)

    In the end: if you want pass-through voice control over something it will have to be IP. IR simply can't do it, nor I think could serial control (even if it could: it's unlikely it'll get developed as it would be considered wasted resources). To be clear, this is as opposed to have voice commanding: you can have an Alexa or Google Home in your Control4 system now to send commands to Control4 to activate things - pass-through voice control is what would allow you to use voice for things like entering searches. 'Course ideally companies would open up there API's to do these searches directly - in which case we're truly moving towards 'voice controlled systems' - but it's a start.

    As for the Halo - there will only be two distinct models, Tactile and Touch (disregarding colour options). Tactile still has a full colour screen with feedback, icons etc, but has added buttons for watch/listen and extra 'quick buttons' -it's the most similar to the SR series remotes int hat sense- while the touch has minimal 'hard' buttons (no numbers and things like watch/listen) - and is in that sense more similar to the Neeo remote. The reason for WiFi vs ZigBee here is simle: speed and data size: can't do voice over ZigBee. Oh and doing both wouldn't make sense: you're just causing more battery load.
    Do note that batteries in these will NOT last as long as SR series remotes: so far I'm actually fairly impressed how long it lasts, though others have complained - but I suppose I never expected them to last for a week on the table.

    Nice try but:
    -Mainstream support ended in April 2009, with the last service pack (actual true updates, not fixes) was a year earlier. The remaining 5 years were pure security updates, not support updates.
    -Windows 7 came out in 2009 as well, so xp stopped getting supprt updates as the next version came out (actually, a few months before it came out), then xp was updated for security reasons ONLY for 5 years
    -C4 OS3 came out in 2019, and 4 years afterwards, you get a SUPPORT update for the previous OS paraphernalia ....sounds pretty good to me.
    Another nice try but:
    -That would hold true for the hardware being supported in updated software (which it is for all essential devices such as lighting)
    -Supporting the software to run as is would arguably also need to be supported for a considerable time (which it is, basically as long as the hardware lasts)
    -But requiring that a user interface software continues to run on user introduced devices which were created years after the original product 'for decades' is utter nonsense. That OS2 app likely runs perfectly fine on your old iPad mini though.

    Incridebly fatser than OS2 for sure, Its even faster than HomeKit now, Apple scrwed Home App and C4 OS3 app is much faster! You won't regret it, some features like Color Wheel is a must to have if you have a lot of Color LED Lights, makes ur life easier, updated UI also top notch compared to OS2.

    I’ll happily second Mitch’s comment.  Even for massive systems (in strange foreign locations) the app fully loads within seconds.  Both my systems would qualify as massive (I think) and the app is spectacular. I have (almost) forgotten the bad old days of the app being slow…
    OS3 is infinitely better than OS2 (and I enjoyed OS 2 at the time).

    The zigbee motions wont directly integrate with the Clare, no. There's workarounds using c4 controllers with relay outputs and using hardwire setups... but you're likely cheaper off using regular (not zwave) sensors with the clare, then use the clare integration to feed those sensors back into C4

    You mean that a 'fits-all' protocol and communication standard that will be adopted by one-and-all isn't going to be implemented among the numerous competing product manufacturers? Shocking.

    It will only hold up programming in the same event.  If the event triggers again, I don't recall what happens, whether all the programming waits on the first delay or if it all executes up to the delay a second time.  I don't particularly want to test it...
    If you do a 15 minute trigger on a particular event (let's say a motion sensor sensed motion), and you have other programming on a different event (say, a custom button triggered by a remote, or a *different* motion sensor sensing motion, etc.), it will execute normally.

    I also don't think anyone has stated it but delays should not be used for motion automation. They will not achieve the correct results you should use a timer or the appropriate driver.
