sounds like its setup wrong...share the config screenshot

I got it back up running again.   The outlet was not powered off after all.   It was an extended internet outage of like 12 hours or so and it appears the auto reboot just timed out with number of reboots which I thought max was 10 (my setting)... Didn't realize that setting to 0 means infinite reboots.   I'm going to try that to see if that fixes in the future.

  2. Hi,  I have been running into some issues with the auto reboot function and thought I would inquire... It appears in my second home after the internet has an outage, the auto reboot sequence triggers and at the end of the sequence the outlet then remains in the "off" state.  This renders access remote completely impossible as internet doesnt restart and I can't get into the Wattbox remotely to force the outlet on.

Is this normal that the outlet goes off after the sequence of reboot attempts completes?

    Thanks!

ps I have 3 websites that the autoreboot tests plus the router IP address and the logic set to "OR".

I am having an issue getting the Unifi Protect NVR driver to successfully connect to the camera RSTP stream.  I installed the Unifi Protect Gateway driver and bound the camera to the Unifi Gateway.  I installed the Unifi Protect Camera (NVR) driver, made the connection to the camera.  Set the RTSP port to 7447 and the H264 stream to Low (or Medium).  When I try to test the VIdeo URL, it fails.  However, when I test the rtsp URL in VLC, it works just fine.  Also, I am getting motion events from the gateway.  At least that is working.

Any idea what I might need to look at to fix the video stream issue?

    Is this the paid driver?

no you'll want the new zigbee card.  PM me I can order you one if you need.

Thanks,  when you say "new card",  do you know when this card was released?  I got a card about a year ago for the last Yale lock which was a different zigbee card than the first gen Yale locks.   Are they on the 3rd revision of that card now for Yale?  Thx

  5.  Well said above..  A couple of additional considerations....

    - Performance / Cost ratio may be higher with the Unifi setup and future upgrades

    - Unifi GUI likely offers more network transparency, ease of management and control for the end user

    - and many users, including myself, use it with C4 systems with no issues.  For someone already with a Unifi setup, it seems logical to stay put and just find a C4 dealer that is comfortable in working in that network environment which there are many.

  6. Thanks @Cyknight  For some reason i was thinking a 1 year 4 sight came with a new controller but maybe I was having delusions!  Thanks for the tips,  I will pass them on just in case they are not known but mainly I was trying to get a "feel" how easy or difficult this was going to be.   I have several 3rd party drivers but most are with my current dealer but I have a few that will need some chasing I'm sure.   Thanks again!

    Correct

Thanks Ari,  are these pretty straight forward when its the director that fails? any watch outs?  Also, i have 8 months left on my 4sight subscription on my account,  will that map over to the new controller which I think comes with another 1 year?  Thanks!

    Hi All,

I'm installing a level II evse in my garage next week. The unit connects is accessible via wifi, but the wifi coverage in my garage is lackluster. As a result, I'm considering adding an AP to my garage. Currently, I have Luxul network. The Epic 5 router, along with two of the XAP-1510s and one XAP 1440 for the backyard. Overall, I've been very happy with the Luxul system. The network is very stable/reliable and I really don't ever have to restart anything. Speeds for the wifi are also very good over 5g (typically in the 290-300mbps range. If the router is rebooted, the 2.4 spectrum is fine, but quickly degrades, probably due to interference, making it pretty much unusable, although it doesn't really bother me too much, because the 5g is all I use. I have a 3600 sq. foot home, and the coverage with 5g is pretty good everywhere (other than garage).

If I stick with Luxul for the new AP, I would get the Apex Wave 2 (xap 1610), as it's my only option, but it's not wifi 6. Therefore, my first question is whether or not I should take this opportunity to upgrade to wifi 6 or 6e (even though I know 6e won't provide much benefit over wifi 6 due to lack of devices that support 6e). I'm not sure why Luxul doesn't have a wifi 6 option available yet, as I would have thought they would have had something by now.

If I go with the wifi 6 or 6e option, I'm thinking either Ubiquiti (Unifi6 or Unifi6 Enterprise) or Ruckus. I've never used either of those brands, but the general consensus seems to be that they're some of the best. With that being said, it doesn't seem like Ubiquiti has a wireless controller, so I'm not sure how the setup would work. If I get Unfi APs, do I just connect them to a network switch and not use my Luxul controller? Also, I'm assuming I would need to upgrade my router to a wifi 6 router, but the only wifi6 router available from ubiquiti is the dream router (the dream machine and dream machine se don't seem to be wifi6).

Any insight/suggestions on any of this would be greatly appreciated. Just not sure what direct to head at this point.

    Thanks!

Are you trying to upgrade the wifi for the entire home or just add an AP to the garage?

I pre-ordered the regular Halo with my dealer over the weekend. This will replace my 260 I use in the living room. Planning to get the touchscreen version for my dedicated theater to replace my Neeo once those are available.

Curious what "pre-ordered" means actually?   Can the dealer actually pre-order and you get in the actual queue with C4 or is this a dealer wait list and you will get the dealers stock in that priority whenever they get them?

    Thanks...

Looking to replace what installer believes to be a faulty card. Every so often I get message " communication" .

My dealer has looked high and low for a replacement card only to find out from his supplier they are back ordered till November.

Given the state of affairs in supply chains and such, plus its an older DSC system I am taking a shot in the dark here.

    Thanks

I think I may have a new one in my attic. I can’t look until end of week but can let you know.

Thank you @chopedogg88 and so many others that add valuable feedback to this forum. I long ago learned that one gets what they pay for. And rarely does consumer grade stuff compare to top quality stuff. The reality is most consumers simply cannot tell the difference and they don’t know what they don’t know.

I wouldn't personally call Unifi consumer gear... It is a step up but agree with others it not in the same league as Ruckus.   But it's ALOT less expensive and they have progressed their access point models a lot in recent years plus the Unifi software interface and APP is better than Ruckus.   The gap is shrinking and not sure today I would spend 3-4x for Ruckus in a home setting.  I have Ruckus in a large home and its great.  I have a Unifi UDM in a smaller home with a built in Access Point and it has worked brilliantly.  I had actually picked up an R610 like @chopedogg88 and was going to install in place of the UDM AP and then I didnt do it given the Unifi performance and all in one convenience of the UDM.   My advice is dont get sucked into the Unifi immediate response of it is problematic,  do more research.  its like saying a corvette is a crappy sports car because there is a McLaren option available.   Also, Ruckus tech support is only better if you buy (annually) their paid support otherwise not much better than Unifi.

I have a 5000 sq.ft house and I have full coverage with one Ruckus R610 AP (centrally located)...and that's not even wifi 6.  Their wifi 6 stuff provides even better coverage.  I used to have 3 Unifi AP Pros.

AP Pros are old unifi APs heritage .   There newer line is loads better.  If ruckus cost is an issue,  the new Unifi APs are pretty compelling .
