David, Can't we use docker instead of PI, am using your suite of drivers over a Synology NAS and is working perfectly fine with Shelly's and Sonoff, I need to get the Flic working locally as well without IFTTT and without a PI?

NEW CONTROL4 WIRELESS PUCK DIMMER SWITCH
Amr replied to ILoveControl's question in Question & Answer
It’s suitable for retrofit jobs where u keep your normal switches and dimmers setup and u convert them to C4 lighting wireless based control ... One Puck work with one load, it’s not advisable to have all Pucks solution as it’s very expensive that way. I use it mainly to have a decent Zigbee coverage house wide ... -
NEW CONTROL4 WIRELESS PUCK DIMMER SWITCH
Amr replied to ILoveControl's question in Question & Answer
Am struggling to understand your issue, sorry about that, I personally have zero problems with all Pucks. Also if the link with C4 controller is dead, Pucks will continue to function normally ... -

We are not comparing anything, it’s an alternative solution for anyone who is keen to test and wants to cut costs with a killer retrofit solution. -
Not in search, In the devices tab you will find all generic devices, you add them to your room and bind them to your Nest Protect, am assuming you have ComposerPro ...

I will for sure go ebay route now, issue is never in controller, I have 6 Fixed Screens and 9 Portable ones, that's 15! this is a real pain ...
-
3.0 then, I will never pay $18k to get a new GUI, damn it ... I just need a confirmation that C4 will continue supporting 2.10.6, they can EOL (End of Life) whatever they want but not EOS (End of Support).

A good RGB LED Control solution for Control4 is there
Amr replied to jackstone's topic in General Control4 Discussion
Well never mind, I just watched a German uTube and it works! It’s even better than Sonoff as I don’t even need to change my switches to toggle, so TCO is much better even ... -

Zuhair, while waiting for the hardware to arrive tomm, one last question, I understand you can use On/Off switch or a Toggle Switch and you select that from the app. Am fine with toggle like C4 Pucks and Sonof, but how do you operate the On/Off? I mean does it work both ways? If I turn switch to ON position; is on and after turn OFF from App what will happen if I turn the switch to OFF position? Will the turn ON again? -
But they will never do that, they can not afforded people stop buying hardware just because there is a refresh cycle at the door! It’s left to our discretion ...

I’m making the same setup right now ditching all other WiFi solutions including Sonoff, TP-Link, Dlink, and Xiaomi, the only difference I have my Broker on my Synology NAS no PI. These Shelly’s are incredibly small, can be fitted in any tight box, just amazing I admit. -

Will on WiFi turf, am very happy with Xiaomi WiFi lamps/leds, very few to nil hiccups in the past 2.5 years, Shelly/Sonoff allows u to use a local solution not cloud based at all, also u can reflash them with Tasmota or whatever and u never need cloud for anything. WiFi will evolve for sure as for reliability, C4 Zigbee is the ultimate but take a look at the x10 or x20 cost ... -
If u r using the 250’s for IR only then u can drop all of them for Z2IO or Z2IR, as for EA3 it depends on your project size if mid then it can replace the 800, but an EA5 is solid choice and u can’t go wrong with this. You can also use the 800 but u will loose the GUI, this is what the rumors are predicting ...

Mak sorry didn’t really get this correctly, I was referring to Xiaomi MiLight not Mi-Light, it’s a totally different hardware, I know for a fact that the Mi-Light bridge can be Modded as it’s not a very stable WiFi connection. -

Shelly has came up with a killer WiFi RGB hardware that works with MQTT, all drivers are free and it’s really fantastic very small hardware. $22 a piece and it’s on the way for me to test, I plan to completely go this way and abandon any other WiFi solutions e.g. Sonoff, etc. -

In the driver tab itself, select auto update, Central Cloud Driver will force an update to all drivers, it’s not an auto update.- 252 replies
