  1. I’ve had something similar twice (once was a V1 thermostat and once was a V2 thermostat) in the last 13 years and both times my dealer fixed it by updating the driver (to the same version). I.e. basically reinstalling the driver over itself without losing any programming. I have no idea why it happened but in both cases this solved my problem.
  2. An upgrade to a CA10 is well worth it but I don’t think that will fix this problem. This sounds like either a zigbee error or a programming error (could be something as simple as 2 garage doors closing shortly after each other and commands not firing quite in the order you expect). My guess would be that this is a programming error and I would suggest starting a 30 second timer when the doors close and then checking the state of the 3 doors when the timer expires in order to determine the backlight colour. If this works and is stable, you can reduce the 30 seconds. Another thing to check is whether composer shows the same backlight colour as you are seeing in the real world. If not, then it may be a zigbee error (although I don’t think that is likely).
  3. I can understand why many (most) projects would go that way. I haven’t followed this approach (for various reasons) and have an underfloor heating “room” and an aircon “room” where I can control all of these items from. As I have around 30 thermostats (for aircon and underfloor heating) in each of my residences, I have not wanted to have them all appear in every room. This is extremely annoying and not just at start up. I have around 20 “rooms” (in each of my residences) where I don’t have a thermostat. Many of these are virtual rooms (eg a room for “Power and Solar”, a “Settings” room, a “Monitoring” room etc,) . I tend to add thermostats from time to time (e.g. one for geyser control was added recently, another to monitor the heat in my manifold for my water based underfloor heating was added a year or three back and I had one added last week to control my Chiller pool. Each of these when added has created an auto connection to the 20 or so rooms without thermostats and it is very annoying! Especially as this cannot be resolved with HE. At least I am very aware of this now and so careful to make sure that the right things are done when a thermostat is added (I.e disconnect unwanted connections and remove it from multiple rooms).
  4. Happy Christmas everyone. To all those who celebrate Christmas, I trust that this Christmas will be a meaningful one for you and your families as we remember the reason for the celebration, God bless. Thanks to everyone on this forum for your input and online friendship over this last year as we have shared the passion of home automation and, particularly, everything that Control4 can do. May 2024 be a great year for you all.
  5. if you reach out to Janus, they will (happily - I think) link in to your driver. They have done this for me for a number of other third party drivers and their driver documentation says they are open to this.
  6. This is correct and a royal PITA if you have different setups across your different rooms and then add a thermostat later (I’ve gone through your pain on numerous occasions). If you have / want the same (Comfort in this case) setup in multiple rooms then @msgreenf approach will work perfectly.
  7. Correct. It does. Unfortunately, some devices (eg thermostats) are added to the view in every room when added to a project. They also become the room temperature for all unconnected rooms (a very frustrating default in my view).
  8. This plus you will become tempted to make your project bigger and better and at some stage things slow down again and you want even more power (I am, sadly, at that stage). Maybe T5s and a CA11 would make me really happy in 2024
  9. @bnorman - since you are still active this week, I thought I’d tag you on this discussion also
  10. Same problem on my system… never really access movies via MyMovies but would still like the artwork to work @ChrisHenderson
  11. The key is to get to something like this with 1 click (or even to flip between homes in 1 click). In the current iteration of the iOS app it takes 3 clicks to get to a screen such as this (and the new C4 screen for this is a big improvement - look and feel - compared to what was previously available). And it takes 4 clicks to actually swap from 1 house to another. It also not all that intuitive what the first 2 of these clicks are.
  12. It would be really nice if one could favourite a second residence to the Home Screen on the app. This would make flipping between residences so much easier!
  13. Interesting. I was at my holiday home when the feature was turned on on the App and the Touchscreens, I really liked it. I came back to my main residence and don’t like it. The difference between the 2 houses is that I have professional photos as wall paper for most of the rooms at my holiday house but use 2 or 3 of the standard wall papers as wall papers at my main residence. I guess that an option to toggle this on/off would be great.
  14. PM sent. For info, 2 of the 3 Yatun thermostat drivers are now maintained by HopSoft and form part of their Modbus suite of drivers (which they took over from Yatun).
  15. I would imagine this is possible. If there is no easy way to do it, you can probably create a dummy light (dimmer) and link this to the Hue dial (which I have never used but am assuming is used to control light levels?). You could then change the volume based on the brightness level of the dummy light (dimmer)
  16. You can definitely do this in HE. Not sure about When / then.
  17. @drmark12pa - well worth using this driver for what you are doing! Saves (condenses) lots of programming.
  18. I suspect that you will really enjoy the improvement! Only thing I’d add (disagree with) is that I wouldn’t worry about your IOX they tend to last forever… I have 7 or 8 across 2 residences and nothing has died on any of them even though some are poorly located and experience extreme weather conditions.
  19. You can feed a better (more accurate) temperature into control4 via various drivers or your own weather station. if you want this on the screen saver, it is a bit more complex and the only way I can think to do this is to bind the temperature to the room (as an internal temperature) and then use internal temperature on the screen saver. complex and inelegant.
  20. That is why 99% of users don’t use the vast majority of C4’s functionality. Furthermore, this is why 99% of the remaining 1% will use a dealer for this sort of thing. The remaining 1% of the 1% are on this forum.
  21. On your point 2 you can program this (and I have done it) using the on press and on release events but it is messy to do and definitely not recommended! Despite having done it myself, I would go as far as to say it was a stupid idea and I shouldn’t have done it. Getting a dealer to do the binding is a much better option!
  22. Sounds like a great idea… Which camera brands do your drivers support? I currently have 3 Lilin DVRs / NVRs and a HK vision but am about to replace 2 of them…
