Brownbatsbreath got a reaction from msgreenf in rear suspension
What firmware version?
Springs aren’t supported above 2.6.

Idk. This is a home automation forum... I say pull it out. Who needs a suspension at all? -

Also kind of goes to show you some of the misinformation that gets put out there.
Remember a lot of folks on this forum theorizing “They bought the Neeo team to design new remotes.” Could still end up being the case, but so far they just designed the Neeo again.
Kind of now how a lot of the enthusiastic end users are banking on a lot of the short comings with this remote being addressed in future firmware release. Could see this resulting in a lot of disappointment in the future.

Under the programming tab, try clicking on the room name instead of the device. You should then see a drop down menu on the lower left. Select pause or play. Could very well be under there.

If it’s a 3 way you might have the load in one box and feed in the other box. Or you might have them both in the same box.
If the yellow needs to connect from the aux to the dimmer, then you just use one of the travelers to do that. The other traveler could be used to send the load or the hot over to the box you need it at.
Its really simple, but if it’s not something you do often, it can be hard to wrap your head around. 3 ways can be wired so many ways, nobody can really give you an answer without knowing specifically how your switches are wired.

You should consider hiring an electrician if you think hooking up the neutral is too hard and the instructions are hard to understand.
It’s as easy as it gets.

We aren't going to add key backlighting or additional hard buttons through a firmware update.

Maybe it does make sense. Brexit and what not.
My bad, carry on!

The hell being in the UK have to do with using the back button?
I use the back button all the time and I celebrate Thanksgiving and the 4th of July.

Not sure by the UK needs the back button more either...because they want to go back to colonial times? 😋

Brownbatsbreath got a reaction from homeauto01 in CONTROL4 Dimmers work as 3 way switch?
This is also a poor way to describe it.
Depending on how the 3 way is wired, power can be in one box, load in the other, or both can be in the same box. Power can also come in at the light leaving you without a neutral at either box.
As long as power comes to one of the boxes, you can put the dimmer in either box. You can easily send the load or power to the box you want using the travelers.

Mine is the basic, easiest explanation trying to not confuse the DIYer who shouldn't be playing with electricity.
Yes to everything you said.

Someone needs to make a ‘Composer Pro for end users’ bingo card.
Only took 3 pages to get the usual favorites such as:
Just charge people for it!
I’m an engineer!
Control4 doesn’t need to support it!
Composer Pro is easy!
Composer Pro is hard!
Control4 could easily provide support!
Dealers won’t make small changes for me!
I program other things, I could figure it out!
Car analogy.
This would hurt dealers!
This would help dealers!
Car analogy again.
Lurton does it!
Make end users pay for a class!
Only 20 people in the world want Pro!
Control4 needs to change or die!
Bingo!

Yeah, maybe the more *confusing* part is trying to explain why Control4 provides drivers/integration for some products and relies on paid 3rd party developers for other.
Also seems likely to me that, as mentioned above, it’s just people not wanting to pay. In reality it’s not that hard of a concept to grasp.
Sorry, seem to be a little off topic now.

Back in the day it was explained to me using the cell phone/App Store analogy - my dealer said you get a phone and it has some free apps on it already, plus there is a store where you can get more free ones, but some apps have a 1 time fee. Being a dealer model he was clear it was not a public market place and I’d go through him, etc. But that was the basic analogy. It was “slightly” confusing even to me as a techie at the time because THERE WAS a c4 “App Store” on the touch screens for widgets. So I had to separate the two which after having the system for about 48 hours was easy to do. When talking design it was a little clunky. But now without the 4store I think the phone/App Store analogy should be clear to most consumers.
