  1. You may want to simply consider buying a used controller and having a remote programmer set it up. You might actually find some value.
  2. https://www.amazon.com/Fanless-Windows-Computer-Support-Ethernet/dp/B07W8SMTP1 Can't vouch for it, but its cheap, takes up little space, has some enterprise features and ethernet...
  3. Yes, it's common, but not ubiquitous. We don't know the purpose yet. I suspect that all the OP needs is a VPN to the home network and may not really need a cpu in the rack.
  4. Not all PC's have this capability in the BIOS. It's worth double checking when looking for a new computer. Look for AC Power Recovery or Restore on AC/Power Loss etc in the BIOS.
  5. Make sure you include the ground wire between the devices. https://www.stratusengineering.com/rs232-rs422485-conversion-cable-connection-requires-no-external-electronics-power/
  6. It had a point, but then we have people trolling for business and then another boomer desperately trying to back up some naive comments. Maybe a little troll baiting on the side.
  7. Glad you got it working. Not totally clear on what you ended up with.
  8. It would have been more of a kick if you had followed that sentence with something that contributes to the thread.
  9. I agree with checking the current AP's. I have 1 Uni AP covering 7000sqft from the basement pointing up no less. I suspect that your AP's are not tuned for the power and are over powering each other. You can try unplugging all but the 2 that are farthest away from each other or unplug the 3 that aren't the most central. I would not purchase a cable model. I used to work for Comcast on cable modem provisioning. Owning your own modem can make service calls more of a hassle. Switch to Business class service. You get better hardware and better support/SLA. In some places the service is night and day different. Consider a UDM from Ubiquiti.
  10. fixed that for you. Also, firing an event from any device that can do http... like simply a web favorite in a browser or desktop shortcut. Amr refers maybe to the fact the fact that Tasmota can do a websend custom HTTP event in addition to using MQTT. You could potentially integrate any tasmota device without MQTT.
  11. What you don't want to create 100 events for each item like: /OfficeOn01 /OfficeOn02 /OfficeOn03 .... I agree that would be useful. Seems like you could make it work with less verbose generation of events with the given functionality. You wouldn't need 100 levels of volume in practice or there are limited charging status values for Tesla.
  12. Its really cool. Is it wrong to hope for MQTT support from Chowmain at some point?
  13. I understand stupid joinery. Its been a while since I tested something like this, but 485 is half duplex so you can't do a loopback test. If you have another rs232 - rs485 it might help. EA3>RS232/RS485>RS485/RS232>RS232/USB>computer.
  14. Would an SI-2 system integrator device solve your needs?
  15. On the internet nobody cares. On a forum people care about how you contribute and participate. For example, your very first post on this forum was to take a jab at C4 complete with emoticon.
  16. There are various devices you can use to split audio off HDMI to PCM. You can also convert eARC to HDMI with an HDFury device. Those Triad 1's output analog I think so you could go from one of those to a matrix. If it were me I'd run wire and centralize the audio distribution.
  17. You have several audio matrix around the house that are not connected? Curious. How many TV's do you have and do you want to support this audio distribution from more than one TV location?
