LollerAgent
Anybody know of a decently priced humidity sensor I can use with C4? Nyce motion sensors have a humidity sensor, but their driver(s) are not capable of utilizing it. They don't seem interested in adding the functionality either. Axxess has a motion sensor with a humidity sensor, but at nearly $300, the price is ridiculous. Any thing that I may be able to integrate via DSC? My goal is to turn on fans in my bathrooms when humidity is high.
BY96
I use Shelly. It is on sale now. Comes in white or black. Does temp and humidity and integrates with C4 using a Chowmain driver. I have my bathroom fans set to come up when the humidity is too high as measured by the Shelly H&Ts. https://www.shelly.cloud/en-us/products/shop/shelly-h-t-1?_gl=1*1lgnmxi*_up*MQ..&gclid=CjwKCAjwg-GjBhBnEiwAMUvNW6VxYbS32XidiiqnCrcDRXixz_HO53ylDCT2upPwHizpEPrUwVehGxoCC3IQAvD_BwE https://chowmain.software/drivers/control4-shelly-generic LollerAgent

SMHarman
Shelly would be the C4 way but honestly just use this. You don't need a humidity sensor informing a controller informing a switch to make the decision. fleon
I had horrible luck with the Shelly H&Ts. From needing a very convoluted reset b/c of a registration error, to having them drop off the network, to horrible battery life - just not a great experience. Sinope has a little battery powered device for detecting water leaks, but it also detects humidity and temperature. Battery life is 2+ years for me so far AND it has a native driver for Control 4. No fiddling with the Shelly drivers or a third party driver. https://www.sinopetech.com/en/product/smart-water-leak-detector-zigbee/ I'm a dealer for these things and can order some if you need them. LollerAgent
I'm probably being dumb, but I don't see a way to program "If Humidity > X% do this" in C4. I see a device variable for "HUMIDITY" but, the only thing I can program on is "WHEN HUMIDITY CHANGES." No conditionals, etc. @Andrew luecke any ideas? BY96
Here is a screenshot. I do know my dealer had to install an extra driver for the actual programming, which I think is represented by the red and white circles. @chopedogg88 - Can you advise what you added for the Shelly sensors? I am considering integrating Shelly into my Control4 system. Do you know if Shelly offers any hardware that would allow me to hardwire and hide a humidity sensor INSIDE a bathroom exhaust fan? I want my Control4 system to turn the fans on/off based on humidity levels at the respective location.

E-Ink is persistent (so not sure what impact it would have, as E-Ink is highly efficient, and will remain even with no battery. In fact, when I first opened ours, I was trying to peel the screen off because I thought it was a label, before realising). I don't believe so though, but could be worth messaging the shelly team to confirm. I suspect the impact would be fairly low though anyway

Andrew luecke
Might be best to speak to Shelly to see what they suggest for your application, as they have lots of products (and probably even more unreleased ones).

alanchow
For reference my shelly h&t eink display has only dropped 25% battery after 9 months of usage. Not bad for a wifi battery device which is control4 integrable. Andrew luecke
ajd123
Does anyone know how frequently the Shelly Plus H&T Humidity (SHELLY-HT-GEN3) updates the system? Is this user configurable? 48 minutes ago, alanchow said: For reference my shelly h&t eink display has only dropped 25% battery after 9 months of usage. Hey Alan, when you battery lasted this long, how frequently was it pushing sensor readings to the system (ever 5 seconds, 5 minutes, hourly etc)?
Andrew luecke
On the old h&t, it gets updated every 0.5deg change I think for temp, or every 1% humidity change. And, I know in the past Shelly devices also used to check in to the cloud every 12hrs too (so the polling is dynamic) I'm fairly sure the plus would be similar.
