thanks for posting.  I'd just like to see a splash home screen similar to Savant, Josh and Crestron that give you a status of items when you open the mobile app, rather than having to dig to see what devices are in what state. This would be a baseline starting point rather than the focus on the notifications.

From what I saw at the show it's quite minimal
New Notifications features Added User Management functions Security deeper integrations (they were showcasing specifically with Luma) I'm sure your dealer will have release notes on the additional details; there were multiple reps (they had over 50 at the show) stating 'this sets the foundation for future and more frequent updates.'

That KSCAPE is another reason for the faster internet.  For those nights you have to DL before watching it will definitely save a lot of time!

Honestly upload speeds are more important then download speeds for your use case

Ya, sounds like not much that needs to leave your home.
If you wanted to upgrade your LAN, then I wouldn’t bother with 2.5GB stuff, go right to 10GB devices.  Most of them have at least 6-12 ports of 2.5GB capable.

If you're working from home and sending files (especially larger ones), I'm all in for more Internet speed...depending on where you are, it can be relatively cheap and makes a big difference.
HOWEVER, most a lot of "home" routers are a bottleneck - check your internet speed, if you're not getting nearly 1G now, upgrading beyond 1G may be limited on your router. When I went to 1G fios I had to change my unifi router, got the UDM-PRO and wouldn't be able to use it for more than 1G. If FIOS ever goes 2G in my area i'll probably go DIY FW.
And if your NAS & PCs support 10G....it makes a difference moving files around a LOT faster and a nice core for the 2.5G WIFI connections.
The Roon stream isn't much BW to worry about (Shout out I love the new ARC in the car).

Those aren't really servers, certainly don't account for internet traffic servers. We'd be talking servers for hosting domains, be they web domains/servers or game domains/servers

I would certainly agree with both of you here, like I said, I certainly don't suggest upgrading for the sake of it.

    Still 500 MB is plenty.

IMO, Unless you’re hosting your own servers, I don’t see the need for upgrading your ISP speed.  1GB is plenty sufficient for 98% of homes.
Now upgrading your LAN, that all depends on your internal needs.

Router, yes. Core switch, most likely. Anything after that really depends on the need. If your APs support 2.5 or more (not sure what Ruckus has at the moment, do know the new x20 series APs have it from Araknis) then you'll want to ensure their path has it all the way so you'd have to update every switch in line to have it.
As always, going to be a question of cost vs benefit.
To me, I'd put in all 2.5/10 and SPF quads in wherever possible (ie wiring supports it) if your upgrading anyway: but I wouldn't by default say you'd need to upgrade right now just to get it.
If getting internet service over 1Gb, often youll find just changing the router and the core switch (especially if it breaks out to other switches) will be sufficient

the router yes especially for multi-gig wan. The Primary switch yes, especially if the other secondary switches have SFP you could do 4 other primary switches with a better connection on SFP.  Any waps and any other high-output devices should be on the primary multigig. If the rest of the switches will fit on the primary it would be best. If any other switches have to go on a secondary switch it should be one of the ones connected with sfp. If you need more 2.5gig devices connected than what one 24 port can handle simply add a second. Leave the rest of the switches alone assuming nothing has the ability to use multi-gig.

Very nice guy - have connected on some gear purchases and doing a training session on Composer HE next weekend.  Trying to encourage him to come to CEDIA as he's a good voice for the consumer like myself.

Just finished up the show at CEDIA and must say OS 3.4 is a whole lotta nothing in comparative terms.  Beyond some enhancements of security camera integration, very very basic user management function and notifications it was a dud IMO.  The release date from 3 reps was promoted as coming on September 13th.  I asked each rep in different sessions about enhanced ability to do scene programming within the OS (i.e. not When>Then, or Composer HE) and was given what seemed to be the marketing of answer of their updates are building a platform for this.  Additional user management and permission details were not present other than an Admin and Standard functions.  They did state that future updates will be pushed out on a much more regular basis instead of large industry events like this one.  I asked about Halo development to put basic function into it (locks, shades, etc.) in addition to voice activation for Josh.ai - got the 'our developers are actively working on it.' A bit frustrating seeing that the remotes were first promoted as coming at last year's show and to go a fully calendar year with this progress is disappointing.  Hopefully some things will come sooner than later.

On non-related note: impressive things saw:
Black Nova for keypads/thermostats/dimmers that integrate with Control4 Ketra Lighting Josh.ai demo  Grimani/Seymour Screens/MadVR/Barco demo Sony demo theater with 7000 series projector Netgear's AV focused networking Porcella Theater speakers I'm sure there will be plenty of post by YouTuber's but just sharing.  First time attended and hopefully not last.

GregCAMS got a reaction from Time2Jet in HALO Touch- how’s it going?
For me individually the size and feel of the remote was the primary difference and better experience.  In addition we don't use any of the number, info, etc items on the non-Touch so it became an extra amount of 'real estate' on the remote that wasn't needed.  We had DirecTV still while using the non-Touch at the same as doing a trial on YouTube TV to see if we liked it in preparation for NFL sunday ticket.  When using the DirecTV we used the number functions quite a bit since we knew the channel numbers of preference to go to.  However, when we were using YouTube TV, the other streaming apps on Apple TV & Roku, and Kaleidescape we never used the additional buttons on the non-Halo Touch.  Then when we purchased 1 Halo Touch I set it up and gave that one along with the non-Touch to the wife.  By this point we had removed DirecTV and now just distributing Apple TV throughout the home.  After the few days of her use, she much preferred the Touch version.  The primary reasons for her was the size, touch functions for the lights and thermostat, and comparability to the NEEO and iOS app she used (she never liked the SR260).
The other reason was we have family visit a lot and they were familiar with the NEEO's in the guest bedrooms so this was a more natural progression for them we felt.  So far no regrets

So far so good with the Halo touch remotes.  I bought 3 non-touch originally to try them for 4 months.  Those were a better user experience to the SR260's and concurred by the wife which is a large factor.  We received 1 touch remote 2 weeks ago and within a matter of days it was the go-to choice when they were sitting next to each other as an option.  Our use case is Apple TV and Kaleidescape so it's not taken thru a ton of paces or customizations; we use Josh for other control commands and at present some of those items like shades are not available as we know on the remote. Battery life is treated like a phone.  Charger is within a few feet of seating / bed areas (5 additional units at present) and battery life is a non-factor as a result.  Responsiveness has been good and no drops or reliability issues in the few weeks of owning so purchased more thru the dealer.  The non-touch was no issues either.  As far as voice, it's non-committal yet since Josh is used in those zones.  For a few zones where don't have it installed, we are holding out between integrating Siri or if Josh/Control4 start acting in the best interest of the customer base and get the integration for the remotes done.  Sold the 3 non-Touch so we are 'pot-committed' for the Touch units for the foreseeable future.
