I purchased and recently installed a 100 foot Bifale HDMI 2.1 Fiber Optic Cable from AVR to TV. I am now able to set the AppleTV video setting to Dolby Vision and it looks great.

This is exactly what I want also. I hope someone could figure something out.

Would be great if they could release a touchscreen thinner and a bit more flush with the wall.

As mentioned above, the Room Control Driver is the best option.  I have mine set up to cycle through different Tidal accounts with a different chosen playlist on each so that it will join any other zone playing that account but will not interfere with a zone playing from a different Tidal account.  My order varies a bit by room (with the rooms occupant’s personal playlist being first in the cycle, a general one being next and then moving from oldest to youngest family member...
I also have a Tidal room that I have Favourited on each of my Touchscreens and I get there by swiping left.  In the room I simply have the 5 tidal icons and a comfort button. The 5 Tidal icons simply work in the normal fashion for each Tidal family member (I.e. the normal “Listen” functionality.  In the Comfort menu, I have various options as to what playlist will default for the Room Control Driver for each family member using Alan Chow’s Radio Buttons.

Problem with ideas like this is that they have always ended under used, undervalued and soon outdated.
The trend of 'all in one' is NOT a good one in my opinion - still can't believe the local phone company now does Phone, Internet, TV, Cameras and security all in one device (and no battery back up....) and gets away with it. There are SO many reasons to keep certain functions seperated, and very few of value to put it all in one.
I'm seriously asking WHY it would be better to have a C4 controller with PLEX built in vs a C4 controller and a PLEX server (or the option to use a regualr NAS and KODI, or Kaleidoscape, or ......)
And no, one less HDMI connection is not a valid point.

Quick question for those that have integrated DSC NEO into C4 using the TL280. Is the functionality between Serial and Ethernet Integration the same? Or is one preferred over the other?
I am in the process of removing the TL880 originally used for Alarm.com integration. Unfortunately there is not a C4 driver for the TL880 yet so I am going to make the switch and install the TL280 so I can integrate with C4.

There are multiple threads on this forum covering this topic that describe all of the better options. But, I recommend the InFuse Pro app that you can download on the AppleTV. Pay for the Pro version of the app.

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of Janus.  I had my dealer download their driver and I must say that it is extremely impressive! My general thoughts on their driver:
    1. It emphasizes the need for a new Touchscreen with better processing power.
    2. I would love to see it include V1 thermostats and not just V2 (although one can program around that).
    3. It now includes power monitoring (on one platform) but it would be nice to extend this beyond one monitoring system.  In my case, I would like to see eGauge supported or generic support that allows one to tie Control4 variables in for monitoring (graphing purposes).
    4. It now includes water usage monitoring (on one platform) but it would be nice to extend this beyond one monitoring system.  In my case, I would like to see Flo by Moen supported or generic support that allows one to tie Control4 variables in for monitoring (graphing purposes).
This is, arguably, the most extensive use of the web interface that I have seen any driver make use of but this does highlight the challenge in terms of 1 above.  I have reached out to the developers and made the above (and a few other) comments (not point 1 as this is a Control4 issue and after 5 years we must be due a new Touchscreen!). It will be interesting to see how responsive the developers are...

This would be a great driver. Janus has a driver that does this for Thermostats and related inputs. Would be nice to have a similar driver for generic variable inputs.

Thanks for the quick post. Worked with my dealer to buy and install the driver bundle that includes the temperature driver. I’m not done playing with it all yet, but i love the driver and notification capabilities. I realize most of this can be accomplished with programming but this makes it so clean, simple and efficient. Looking forward to playing with some of the drivers in the bundle.

I had a Denon AVR in my first C4 home and loved it.  Will admit that most would be very satisfied with Denon.

I am no expert and I am certainly not trying to offend anyone’s business model, but I couldn’t agree more that we (the customer) need an improved driver model and that the entire C4 echo system (C4, Dealers, Developers) could benefit from the same.
I am no expert on how it works, but I would personally like the Apple model.  All developers pay C4 a fee to review and certify their drivers and then make them available to all dealers and us customers at whatever fee the developer sets - which will also need to include C4’s fee.  The dealer would get their fee from the install and any subsequent programming services.
All drivers would then be controlled and verified by C4 and all would be downloaded from the C4 controlled database and all billing (whether free, monthly, or one-time fee) would be automatic through C4 similar to how it is with Apple.  Developers could then offer a basic driver for free, and charge for upgrade features.
C4, dealers and developers should love this model as it could improve distribution and recurring revenue.  It may even encourage more advance driver development.

I’m not home now, but my shades are all inside mount.  The CAT6 comes thru top of the window frame is 2 inches back from the front and two inches from the right side.  You only need about one foot of lose cable.  I have dual shades in most windows, so run two CAT6 to each window if you want dual shades.
