I have the IQ Remote-PG Touch Panel. But if I recall correctly, they have a few different panel options.
After reviewing the driver install instructions, you do need an IQ panel to complete the install.

I've got @ChopeDogg88 looking at it today.

In case anyone is wondering, we upgraded the system to OS 3.3.0 today. We set up individual room versions of the Spotify driver and the customer is very happy. We did have to remove an HC 250 but the TV it was using IR was a Samsung and had an IP driver. No blood in the upgrade. A few hundred dollars in labor and we moved on. 

Maybe to add, Control4 is a phenomenal system if setup right and can control pretty much anything (again, if set up properly).  Voice control via Alexa is pretty hit and miss (my personal view) and while I use the for a few things, I much prefer my keypads, touchscreens and iPad / iPhone when it comes to controlling most things.  That said, the beauty of well set up automation is that you can minimise the need for control.
E.g blinds open at a set time in the morning, music comes on, lights come on slowly.  

Walk into the bathroom and the lights come on.  Leave and they turn off.
Push one button and the security system arms, the downstairs and outs airs lights turn off and a small LED on the keypad turns red.
Turn in the TV and music turns off, the lights go dim and the blinds close.
Etc.

Yeah sounds like maybe your local dealer is trying to sell you a bunch of stuff you don't need, in order to "make it worth their while". If your controller is from 2019 it's probably an EA series controller which is fine. 
I'd be happy to help you out (remotely) as I've done for many others on this forum. At a minimum I can take a look at your system (I'm a Control4 dealer as well), to give you a 2nd opinion/consultation. 
I can upgrade you to the latest OS, help you with remotes, etc.

Thank you :).  Yes, we worked directly with JellyFish on this and the integration adds a colorful complement to exterior lighting!  
Some of features the drivers supports are:
Local communication NO CLOUD REQUIRED Instant feedback (or almost instant depending on what networking equipment you have). Ability to execute any pattern (that's what scenes are called in JellyFish) in Control4 Patterns can be triggered via the Lighting extras page

Shout out to JellyfishLighting.com for working with @Cinegration to develop Control4 driver. I had these lights installed recently and love them as a replace for holiday, accent, security and patio lighting.

A status landing page would be welcomed.
that said AV is quick to find, you could set up a dummy room called "Home" and have your locks/sensors/alarms on that page for a quick visual but it would be a hodge podge attempt at best.
Not calling out those who "don't" want a dashboard, but there is a reason why dashboards are popular in the corporate world - cuts through the noise and you can see important things (to you) at a quick glance

I don't think that will fix it.  I would put pressure on your dealer to resolve the issue as that most likely is not the issue.
If your dealer has issues resolving it they can escalate to Control4 tech support. They are there to help dealer's resolve scenarios such as this.

Can’t agree more. As one of the early adopters of C4 (first OS was below 1.5 so 2007/8), I can say that while C4 is far from perfect, they have listened and brought some amazing changes over the years. This does not mean that I have always agreed with their product development priorities (I.e. the need for a much improved DS), but for someone who had the very first DS installed, and actually waited over a year beyond the promise date if I recall correctly, I still support C4 and can affirm they listen to their customers. I also know that launching new products is never easy.

While I agree with you (and numerous other posters on this thread) that these icons look terrible / out of place, to assume that Control4 ignores feedback and that this will make its way into OS4 is a bit naive.
Firstly, I very much doubt that OS4 will appear any time in the next 2 or 3 years (happy to be proven wrong) and secondly, if you look back to the latter days of OS2, you will find some diabolical flat grey icons made an appearance (and quietly died the death they deserved).  These were probably (as many speculated) a precursor to OS3 but something happened and that batch of icons now RIP.  My guess is that C4 listened to users (including those on this forum) who by and large said that they sucked!

I have my fans hidden in lights and use experience buttons to control them in comfort (and / or favourited to the Home Screen). Both bNet solutions and Chowmain have cool experience buttons for fan control.

It worked fine (other than the improvement to the 4K format, it was as good ad my previous Dunes which I enjoyed in their day).   But  I must be honest, I moved to the Infuse App on the Apple TV shortly after buying the 4K Dune and much preferred this for a multitude of reasons.  

If it's only a hundred or couple hundred to swap out to a core 5 so that you are starting with a current gen controller, if it were me I would do it.  But I don't think you will necessarily notice a big difference in performance.
