  1. Ditto... although I must say the garage door is my point of entry 99.9% of the time... the front door is a bit of a white elephant!
  2. Prefer the Samsung TV slightly but the Annex4 LG TV driver is the best TV driver on the market (IMHO)
  3. As a matter of interest, what has improved? I have never had issues accessing My Music on my Synology NAS and am not using DLNA... not sure whether I should be trying to upgrade or just leave it as is (if it’s not broken, don’t fix it principle)?
  4. Certainly been a lot of rumors that proved true but also a lot that did not... Some that were posted on this forum before they happened included: When / then Apple Bridge CA1 Android based OS etc. That said, positive rumors can be fun to speculate about! We need some cool new launches so that we don’t need to speculate... Roll on CEDIA
  5. I must say that doesn’t sound likely to me. It would be a huge step backwards. I could see OS3.0 being a whole new operating system with a completely revamped Composer resulting in HE falling away BUT, I could not see them dropping HE in some geographies and not others just to protect from bad programming. There are easier ways to deal with this (e.g. not allowing changes in Composer if a backup has not bee, made in the last 7 days etc.)
  6. Agreed... I don’t see any logic in this argument,
  7. You will be able to see if a room is on in the navigator. Simply press the music note icon. Some drivers can deliberately leave the room on for a (short while) in case of new streaming being detected (e.g. Shairbridge can be set to stay in for a period after music stops). In terms of Media Scenes, they are quite rigid. I use these for obvious combinations (e.g. I have my bedroom and en-suite in one scene; my living room, dining room and kitchen in another scene called DOWNSTAIRS and my patio and jacuzzi area are in another scene called OUTSIDE) and I use your methodology (excluding the volume but) for everything else.
  8. The if for “in a session” is needed to determine whether this is digital media and thus an add rooms to current session scenario or whether setting the CURRENT SELECTED DEVICE will do the trick.
  9. You can also do a lot with the much maligned media scenes where the activate command will deal with digital media or other media with one line of code...
  10. Your logic looks good to me. You could use “else” and get rid of some of the ”stops”. You could also get rid of the volume commands by setting default volumes for the various rooms. However, none of that changes the fact that your logic looks fine to me... There is no limit to the number of “ifs” that you can have AFAIK. I have certainly used a lot more than you have here with no issue. I wonder if your En-suite is staying on without you knowing it? You could test this by dropping the first 4 lines of code and seeing if it then works consistently.
  11. I have started using the Annex4 driver for the TVs in my beach house and I must say it is an awesome driver. What I really like is the Toast messages. My kids hate them though as I keep interrupting their viewing
  12. If I recall correctly there are 3 or 4 voices under each language. The only useful languages for us English speakers are British, American and Australian... That will probably give you 10 or 11 language choices. I found one of the British ladies to be the best (Emma or Amy - again, from memory).
  13. You are correct. At roughly the same time as they updated the V1-V3 driver (which was just a name change - as far as I know - to distinguish it from the 4K driver), they released a new driver for the AppleTV 4K and an Apple Bridge Driver. Both of these new drivers are needed if you want to use the new driver and get the official Apple Driver working (for the 4K unit). The instructions for how the dealer should set these up are contained in the documentation tab of the Apple Bridge driver. I was the first person my dealer set up on the new driver and it took about 15 minutes (the instructions were fairly clear).
  14. Probably not worth it right now... it gets you a few press and hold commands but that is about it. However, looking forward it is probably worth it for 2 reasons: 1. This is the certified driver so is less likely to break at some stage. 2. I assume (guess) that the Apple Bridge is going to do a lot more in the future and give us a lot more Apple control (my guess being that mini apps and Apple Music are not far away).
  15. If it is on IR, you are definitely not on the new driver.
  16. Correct, problem has also disappeared on my side with the new Apple Certified C4 Driver...
  17. I don’t think this sounds likely given all the hassle they have gone to over the last few years (continuing Flash development in parallel for certain features being just one example) to allow other new features to work on the HC controller as well as the EAs. I am sure there wil be some technical reason for the HCs not supporting this. Remember this is a 2 way street... the older Apple TVs (versions 1 - 3) are not supported by this driver in the same way as older controllers (HC series) are not supported. I am sure that there is a good tech reason for both of these. It may (or may not) be one and the same reason.
  18. Chatted to my dealer today and we are now up and running on the new driver... I’m not seeing any noticeable difference but I am assuming that this bridge is going to open up a world of opportunities in time (Apple Music and mini Apps being the 2 I am after)...
  19. I must say, the new camera experience is infinitely faster! Well done C4!
  20. Often worth swapping to black (backlight anyway) at night in bedrooms but leaving it normal during the day
  21. Move to Apple More seriously, I’m also on the latest C4 OS and push notifications are working perfectly but all my devices are iOS not Android
