  1. The gateway is probably connected to the decoder. Lights connect directly to the decoder. I think you may be using an older driver -- any modern DMX driver will have a better UI and allow you to have color and temperature sliders (vs having to control each individual channel separately like you describe). I'm not familiar with the Enntec solution though, but I wonder if you can just update the driver. What OS version are you on? Enhanced support for color/temperature came in 3.3.0, but you need to update your drivers to take advantage of this functionality (if your drivers have new versions). No - there are no speciality DMX strips -- you can use any LED strips with DMX decoders. You just need one decoder channel for each channel (R, G, B , etc).
  2. Hue, etc are nice -- but they are very expensive in quantity. I'm in the DMX camp myself. You can buy cheap strips on Amazon, etc, pickup decoders, etc. There is an initial learning curve to DMX, but once you get the hang of it -- it's pretty straightforward. But, you need to be able to run wires back to a central location (decoders) in most situations. Like Cy said, wireless decoders are expensive. I use Domaudeo's Advanced DMX driver (and the "red" box) -- but I think there are a few other solutions now. I use Hue behind my TV's and DMX everywhere else (for LED strips).
  3. Ah yes, I love it when the deadlock engages while the door is open and then the kids slam the deadbolt into the door frame.
  4. I'm a bit surprised that the 24x24 matrix only has two digital inputs. I think I use 4-6 digital inputs on my Triad.
  5. Here is an example -- it's not quite like I remembered, but I think it achieves the same or similar goals: If my master bath has an active session, a double-tap to the "Music" button in my master bedroom will join that session. If there isn't anything playing in the master bath, a double-tap will then try to join the session in the Living Room (closer in proximity to my master bath). Lastly -- if there isn't anything playing in the living room either, it will try to join the kitchen's session. Again -- this programming is obviously specific to how I want things setup and ordered, and it requires quite a bit of programming on each keypad -- but it works great for us.
  6. Use the room control driver -- simple. On button press, if a session is active in room X, join that session.
  7. I believe so -- I'll check when I get home. This is true -- but I actually prefer the functionality that I have. It allows me to define precisely how I want to group/join sessions. For example, if I have a session on in my Kitchen area, I might not want to hear the same thing in my master+master bath, but I would want to hear the same thing in my master bedroom+master bath. Programming allows me to do the following: "If I double tap (join) the 'Music' button in the master bathroom, and there is an active session in the neighboring master bedroom, join it. If not, check to see if there is an active session elsewhere in the home (eg, the kitchen) and join it instead." It allows me to specify an order so to speak. Of course you may be able to do this in B&O as well - not sure.
  8. I do the same thing with C4 native audio using the Room Control driver's "join" functionality. Super handy - and we use it all of the time. An example: we are listening to music in our master bedroom, but want to go take a shower in the bathroom. Double tap the "Music" button on the Bathroom's keypad, and it will automatically join the master bedroom session if it's on.
  9. Using a Triad AMS matrix and native C4 audio (outputs from a C4 controller into the matrix), dump amps. This provides the most intuitive interface since you don't need to use any other apps other than the C4 app (unless of course you are using Spotify -- but it's not terrible).
  10. I do think that the Bluesound has better sound quality (via my Triad matrix) compared to native C4 audio via an EA5v2 -- but it's not as convenient for me, since my main source is typically Spotify and you cannot have a Spotify endpoint for each room when you use Bluesound (unless you have multiple nodes). It's pretty solid for other music services though.
  11. Split.io is a SaaS company that handles feature flagging. I'm sure C4 is using it to gradually test or roll out features -- although it is a tiny bit odd that the system(s) are designed in such a way that the end user device (the controller) is making these requests and not C4's own backend systems. I don't totally understand the C4 architecture though.
  12. Do you have a Plex server running on your NAS? That is what you typically want to do.
  13. Yep - makes sense! I can expose the Bluesound Spotify driver in every room like you said. The real issue is that I can't make the stream start or launch in any room that I want. It starts in the room where the Node lives and then I had to use the C4 interface to join/add it to other rooms. Not terrible, but not as nice as using the C4 native audio.
  14. Just got the Node wired in. It clearly sounds better than C4 native audio (at least for Spotify). My problem is that it's less-usable by the fact that I can't have a separate Spotify Connect endpoint in each room -- at least that I can tell. If I have a single Node, I have a single instance to target from the Spotify app -- no matter how many instances of the mini-driver I have. Am I doing something incorrectly? C4 native is nice, because I have a separate Spotify driver in each room, which appears as a separate instance that can be targeted from the Spotify app.
  15. I'm adding a new Bluesound Node to my project. Should I connect it to a digital input on my EA5 or my AMS24 (like my other sources)? I don't understand why you would use a controller input vs a matrix input. I've seen folks say they use either/or. Why would I choose one over the other?
  16. I ended up ordering the new Node to play with. It's not in yet.. but, I would like to retain functionality that allows me to easily target any room for Spotify via the Node. I currently have a Spotify driver/endpoint defined for each room, and I can quickly just use the Spotify app to start a session in any room in my home. To add additional rooms, I can just use the C4 app. Is something like this possible?
  17. I have a 2021 (glossy) model frame, and I wouldn't say it's *very* good. It has ridiculous clouding and bleeding issues -- and I have had the panel replaced twice. In the end, Samsung told me they were just going to refund me. I decided to keep it because it's in my master bedroom -- but I certainly wouldn't put up with it in a "main" viewing area. If OP wants picture quality, most definitely stick with the Sony OLED.
  18. I really want to pick up a Bluesound to check the sound quality difference for myself. But, I also don't want to lose the ease of use that using built-in streaming services on C4 has. Can you have a similar experience with Bluesound?
  19. Can the RA2 Select driver do phantom buttons? I can't remember. I think my popcorn effect is mainly due to the different types of fixtures that are combined on a single load -- they are under cabinet fixed LED's and some are daisy chained, etc.
  20. I create scenes in ALS (C4 advanced lighting scenes) -- because many of my scenes typically combine Lutron+Hue+DMX. In my experience, I still get the "popcorn" effect when triggering Lutron scenes from C4 -- so it didn't make much of a difference for me.
  21. I'm probably being dumb, but I don't see a way to program "If Humidity > X% do this" in C4. I see a device variable for "HUMIDITY" but, the only thing I can program on is "WHEN HUMIDITY CHANGES." No conditionals, etc. @Andrew luecke any ideas?
  22. Would you mind sharing your programming for this?
  23. To be fair, the Neeo hardware does have known issues (regarding its WiFI chipset). This was a problem prior to Control4 purchasing and releasing their own version of the Neeo. It's always been fairly reliable for me (I run Unifi switching and WAP) -- although it does have it's moments occasionally.
