Hdmi matrix recommendations
The Good Guy replied to pat.samson.509's topic in General Control4 Discussion
Are you having good luck with it? This matrix has been on my watchlist for a while, and I am about to pull the trigger. I believe ZUUM media sells the same one, and they have a free IP driver available: https://www.zuummedia.com/product-p/h8x8h2.htm -
RA2 Select drivers work with caseta devices.

C4 iOS app displaying all cameras
The Good Guy replied to nitelon's topic in General Control4 Discussion
I have seen an issue where you need to hide and unhide the camera in order for the camera to show up in the iOS app. -
Hi, I hope everyone is doing well! Finally had ATT fiber installed today and looks like I am stuck paying $10 a month for a device that I don't really need. Oh well... it is what it is. Network Setup Ubiquiti ERLite 3 (1.10.7) Cisco SG300 3x Unifi APs Current ISP setup: Suddenlink 400mb ARRIS Surfboard SB6190 Replacing with: ATT Fiber 1000/1000 BGW320-505 In order for me to keep my network equipment, which is already configured and works flawlessly, I read the easiest way would be via "IP Passthrough", so this is what I have done so far: BGW320 1) Disabled IPV6 2) Changed the Device IP to something different than 192.168.1.X 3) Disabled "Packet Filters" 4) Enabled "IP Passthrough" 5) Disabled all options in "Firewall Advanced" 6) Disabled both 2.4 and 5ghz 7) Connected my ERLite3 to the blue 5gb port (Port1?) 8.) Reboot ERLite3 1) Able to get Public IP 2) ... not sure what else to check. So far, all the equipment I tested seemed to be working fine. I do plan to upgrade to a UDM-PRO in the future, but I would like to get the best speed I can with the equipment I have right now. To be honest, I am not entirely sure if the ERlite3 can handle 1gb. Haven't tried to connect my macbook pro to straight to my switch yet because I couldn't find my USB-C to Ethernet adapter, so I am ordering a new one to test. Right now I am averaging 500mb down / 550mb up over Wifi (Macbook Pro Late 2015 + AC-HD). Is there anything else I am missing? Any help or tips are greatly appreciated!

NVidea Shield update adds control4
The Good Guy replied to enzeder's topic in General Control4 Discussion
does anyone one know how to send a "long press" with this new driver? -
I haven't been able to find discrete IR codes for these TVs. Until we have confirmation they exist, I would personally not recommend buying this model.
-
In case anyone was wondering, the TCL Roku codes do not work on this set.

Caseta is the best DIY system available. Best part is that you wont be tied to a control4 ecosystem if you ever decide to move away. Dimmers and switches can be usually found for $40-45 on ebay.

My cameras are no longer working after today’s update. I have 6 cameras connected to a hik NVR and 2 cameras connected straight to the network switch. None of them are loading (wifi or LTE). They work fine via OSD though...

Driver development: Monoprice blackbird HDMI matrix
The Good Guy replied to dmcvie's question in Driver Requests
I was looking for a driver for a BG-UHD-88M18G and couldn't find anything. Then I noticed that Monoprice and Zuum sell similar hardware and seem to use similar codes. Luckily Zuum provides an IP/Serial/IR driver for their Matrix which could help at least with the HDMI switching part. Not sure if it will work, but it doesn't hurt to try: https://www.zuummedia.com/v/vspfiles/Software/zuum_hdmi_8x8.c4z.zip The codes are very similar to: BG-UHD-88M18G Monoprice 39670 Monoprice 39669 -
Need Recommendation for 8x8 Video Switcher
The Good Guy replied to Jfizzle's topic in General Control4 Discussion
I found a few companies selling the following matrix but could not find any reviews yet. Good features and also includes audio de-embedding/matrix. The only downside is there are no Control4 drivers made, but shouldnt be too hard to build a serial drive for it: https://amp.hdtvsupply.com/8x8-hdmi-matrix.html https://bzbgear.com/product/bg-uhd-88m18g-bzbgear-8x8-hdmi-2-0-matrix-with-audio-matrix-downscaling-aoc-supported/ -
Upgrade Router Mikrotik RB3011 or Ubiquiti EdgeRouter 4
The Good Guy replied to Sooner's topic in General Control4 Discussion
Yep! Or... If can wait a little bit longer for a new router and doesn't need the extra features from the UDM Pro, I would wait for this: https://community.ui.com/questions/Introducing-the-UniFi-Next-Gen-Gateway-Product-Line-Starting-with-UXG-Pro-/732dd4dd-10bf-463c-8622-382d77702872 https://store.ui.com/collections/early-access/products/unifi-next-generation-gateway-professional-beta -

Yep. I was referring to the Amcrest piece suggested. -
Unifi Releasing a New Video Doorbell
The Good Guy replied to ejn1's topic in General Control4 Discussion
I would strongly advise against a 2.4ghz doorbell from any brand. They are generally a little slow to connect. Its not going to be a good user experience. If you really like the Ubiquiti gear, contact this guy and check if they plan to support the doorbell: UniFi NVR/Video: https://drivercentral.io/platforms/control4-drivers/utility/unifi-video/ UniFi Protect: https://drivercentral.io/platforms/control4-drivers/utility/unifi-protect-camera/ -
Free Roku TV Driver & TP-Link Kasa Driver
The Good Guy replied to Control4 HC-250's question in Driver Requests
For the Roku TV driver, If you know how to program, you can start here: https://developer.roku.com/docs/developer-program/debugging/external-control-api.md These commands work beautifully with my TCL S4 model. Just sent them via terminal: curl -d '' http://TV_IP:8060/keypress/powerOn curl -d '' http://TV_IP:8060/keypress/powerOff curl -d '' http://TV_IP:8060/keypress/Home and etc.. Is that for data or video (hdmi-over-cat)? Either way use CAT6. When I bought my house 4 years ago I ran 2x Cat5 for IR and Data and 2x Cat6 for video behind every TV location. A bit overkill but I rather have extras than none. If I ever move to a new house in the near future, I think I would do: 2x Cat6 for Data and IR and 2x Cat6A or Cat7 for video.

I use these. No issues at all. Sewell SW-29863-12 Deadbolt Banana Plugs 12-Pairs by, Gold Plated Speaker Plugs, Quick Connect https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006U3O566/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_IGqPEb0DRE6GA

I toggled the “Apple tv control” menu and rebooted my main controller. That seems to have fixed the issue.
-
I am also having issues with the apple tv 4k ip driver for the first time. The funny thing is that all of my iOS devices, regardless of iOS the version, stopped controlling both of my apple TVs via Control4 app, while everything still works via apple’s Remote app, SR and Neeo.

Not sure what happened but its working now. Lol Thanks again for the driver!
