No problem.
Just understand where those feelings come from (that's all).
Try walk in my shoes. (And those of probably many of your clients)
Videostorm clearly has.
(And that's why my post remains relevant)
Cheers everyone
Have a great year!!!

Hi Wap please dont take this as being rude or offensive but this seriously has to stop.
Control4 has never made it easy for you because it is a dealer only platform. You knew this before you bought into it.
It will never be easy for you because they do not want it to be.
But you do have a choice.....
Build the bridge and get over it or stop using it. It is that simple.
You seem switched on so surely you must agree that you are using any thread you can to bang the same drum!!
We all know your feelings so please please please leave the posts for relevant responses.
Cheers

Dude, you need to stop. It's one thing to voice your opinion once, it's another when you constantly say the same shit daily and trolling the forum.
Zip it!! Everyone has heard the same song and seen the same dance already.

I use jriver for my high end audio player needs but not sure i ever had the need for c4 integration. Maybe video is the linkage.

Yeah forums are the worst way of troubleshooting problems. I won't be on the forums as much over the next 7 weeks. Have 5 contracts to finish up and a 2 week holiday. Email will always get through to me.

No ETA at the moment, but there are some things in the works. I'll provide more information when things get closer to release.

Look, you're using this forum all wrong... Let me help.
The OP here had some zwave questions. He got some very helpful answers from some knowledgeable folks. You too can get all the info you can handle on any control4 product and just about any 3rd party product that integrates with control4, right here on this forum.
However, people here don't work for control4. It's dealers, end users... and yes some control4 employees, but they're here on their own time and I'm sure cant speak officially for control4.
So when you come here and say "Control4 should do this.." or "Why doesnt control4 do that...?" Honestly, most of us don't know... but if you ask a specific question, chances are you'll get a few pretty informed answers and opinions.

Dear all... I'm leaving the Control4 aka "Control Freak" show a while. Sorry and apologies to all for wasting your time.
Enjoy being manipulated by "the CultofC4"
But most of all (do try) enjoy your own systems. I was you after all (who at the end of the day) paid for them!!!!
P.S on the way out don't forget to read Orwells 1984 for a bit of insight.

Exactly. Which is why they’re not going to ‘issue updates’ and ‘keep you in the loop’.
Theyre not going to provide instructions on how to integrate something that has to be done by a dealer to end users.
They do provide this: https://www.control4.com/stashes/z-wave but as you can see, the good stuff is beyond in the dealer portal.

There are a number of fibaro Zwave drivers in Control4. I use the dimmer ones and the roller shutter ones (blinds) and the show up the same as generic C4 lights and blinds on navigators and remotes.
They have full percentage control and feed back via C4 navigators and remotes but you also wire a rocker / toggle switch direct to them so they are independent if your C4 controller is ever out of action.

There is a zwave sensor driver directly for the door and windows and you can set up experience buttons to show feedback.
The blinds would be a bit of trial and error. Guessing it is more than an open/close scenario which would be pretty simple. Experience button> zwave relay driver which is configured to a virtual switch that is in vera> when the virtual switch changes state you set up a scene in vera to control the device. I would have to look and see about increments, that will be a bit of a science fair project.
Option1- find a c4 driver that you can programmatically change the value of a virtual dimmer then in vera when the virtual dimmer changes adjust the binds accordingly
Option2- set up multiple experience buttons for desired percentages that control different virtual switches to change the blinds to the increments you want.
Option1 is definitely ideal but I don't have any blinds here to test that it could work. I am sire option2 is possible

I have been researching a lot of the ZWave devices. There is so many of them and really useful ones to. @sonic30101 was giving some really good advise on ZWave and mentioned the VeraPlus Advanced home controller as the interface between C4 and the ZWave devices.
The questions I have before I buy this device:
Does it have a driver to C4 how does the VeraPlus intergrate to C4? What is the role of VeraPlus just an interface? Do you need a driver for each of the ZWave devices you add to the project? Would appreciate the guidance

wappinghigh reacted to RyanE in Any other DDNas Users out there?
I'm still using the MB from the original DDNAS.
I had backups of most of the data on the DDNAS on other servers in my basement.
I did lose a lot of MythTV captures, and most of my movie rips, which I re-ripped, in higher quality from the original DVDs and Blu-Rays(which I still have).
I had a backup of most of my ripped MP3s, but re-ripped them to FLAC, which Control4 supported by then.
I'm in the process of making an additional NAS backup system with my original drives from the DDNAS, but haven't gotten too far on it as of yet.

I just switched over from Harmony Elite to a C4 setup. It worked ok for me because I had Lutron lighting. I also used a SmartThings hub to connect everything else. I just got tired of the outages and wonky UI. I would also suggest having someone who does remote Programming look at your system. I am extremely happy with the change to C4. I’m sure there will be problems at some point but they are electronics. I’ve come to expect it. Having said that, it sounds like you are certainly having issue that aren’t little glitches. I have a remote programmed. I’d be happy to give you his contact info if you’d like.

wappinghigh reacted to AidenL in Control 4 to Harmony Elite
Yes, I can believe its down to the dealer, and no, I didn't have dozens of referrals. I suppose my faith in C4 as a system has been severely damaged, and my faith is little. I do believe honestly that C4 shouldn't allow dealers to sell their product, if they haven't been certified as being up to scratch. Trustpilot has a lot of bad reviews on there, its not just AVS, and its amazing C4 allow their brand to be damaged by sub standard installations.
And here I am thinking about going the opposite direction. If you are able to recommend someone, I'm open to investigating if it can be improved. Thank you.

That is exactly the gear I have (Cable Modem ...but also capable of being a router) and a Draytek but you should have the Draytek set up as the router... IMHO... you do this by setting the Cable modem in bridge mode...
Check your settings would be my advice oh and read this...

People have problems with their Toyota and the dealerships mechanics you feel are to blame and complain on a forum about the issues with their car.
Should toyota shut down that dealership? Should you keep spending money with that dealership mechanic hoping they figure it out?
Maybe they just have bad mechanics. You can go somewhere else for service. Another dealership or an independent mechanic Open yelp or another service and read reviews. Or you can sell the new car and take a beating on the investment
So you have c4 and you are getting bad service from your dealer. Get referrals. Shop around. Pick another service center/mechanic for your c4 work.
