RAV Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Searched Drivercentral and no Wemo drivers are found there anymore. I know DriversLab went away, but I thought Chowmainsoft had one too? Quote
Andrew luecke Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 G'day, @alanchow has more information. But, I can confirm their removal. Quote
alanchow Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 Belkin asked us to remove the drivers so they are no more. Quote

alanchow Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 The driver has been delisted and will no longer be maintained. Existing drivers will however continue to work. Quote

Andrew luecke Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 We actually also have a driver being released fairly soon for a range of products similar to KASA which is close to done, but is a bit delayed at the moment, as I am prioritizing a LED manufacturer, another utility driver (mostly done), and have been working on fixing 1 or 2 rare heisenbugs on another 2 of our other drivers which have both only been affecting 1 or 2 people. If you think a C4 driver was anything more than a drop in a bucket in additional sales to the masssive retail and online Wemo sales you will continue to be disappointed by other brands. The pro/custom AV channel does not matter or drive any of consumer electrionics market. wnpublic 1 Quote

Sadly, for the most case, this is true. There have been a handful of small companies that have become larger companies after integrating with Control4, and being exposed to the CEDIA market, but the big companies don't pay it much mind, unless they also have a specific focus on the high-end home theater type market (TVs, Receivers, etc.), and even in those cases it's usually a small focused group within the larger organization. Amr Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 Stupid decisions are taken by stupid top industry players; Wemo, Tuya and the likes are competing in a huge $$$ billions market, who cares, there are other solutions out there with supported drivers and open source ones as well. The world is heading to an open source and standardization will form the shape of this industry Quote
