RyanE got a reaction from Rob21 in OS3.4
It is not the door relay driver, it's the door autolock driver.
Door Auto-Lock (OS2.9+)
It requires not only a lock, but also a door contact sensor. With those two things, it shows door and lock status on a single experience button, and allows you to lock/unlock the door with the experience button.
It's main functionality is to implement longer auto locking, and only auto lock the deadbolt when the door is closed. You turn off the deadbolt's auto lock functionality, and use this driver instead.
It's one of my favorites.
RyanE
Edited to add: It also has a command which enables/disables the auto locking, so you can turn it off for parties or repair people, etc. It's pretty handy.

That is literally the reason I initially created the driver. That and because different manufacturers have different auto lock maximum times, and most of them are too short for me (60 seconds, usually).
I want the lock to re-lock after 5 or 10 minutes of inactivity, and this driver resets the activity timer when the door is closed as well as not locking while open, so it's reliably '5 minutes after the door is last closed', or 5 minutes after the lock is unlocked (if the door was not opened).

RyanE got a reaction from DawnGordon in HALO Touch- how’s it going?
It may seem a bit confusing since they're not red and are hollow, but they're the <RECORD> and <STOP> buttons.

ip control works and now if your box has the latest software voice control works with halo. i have been controlling my xfinity flex box for 4 years and has never lost ip control. you just need to have an older xfinity remote with the A button to setup the ip control and then complete the directions to enable

Yeah, I had to look at the Lua Debug output on an AV driver to figure out what they were...

How you go about doing that is up to you.
I mean, you'd have to have a database of them somewhere, which you could access via HTTP, or you could have a way to enter them as properties, or something else.

Without being red or solid, they are more reminiscent of two out of four Playstation buttons than stop and record!

I disgree with your assessment.
There are releases that have fewer flashy features and releases that have more flashy features, with things still being done behind the scenes for future functionality. This is just one of the first kind. There are a ton of bugfixes and architectural changes that will bear fruit in the future.
Control4 development and resources for development haven't appreciably from when Control4 was a separate company.

Personally, I don't think that the notifications feature is insignificant. That eliminates a huge pain point for dealers and customers alike, and lots of programming hours to setup notifications and then change them again when the customer changes their mind. Its been a big time suck for me over the years.

We are demoing the Xfinity and AppleTV voice control on the show floor at CEDIA (switching from one immediately to the other, and vice-versa), and I've been impressed with how accurately it's working in such an awful environment.
CEDIA is swamped with wifi, and loud, and both the Xfinity and AppleTV voice options are working very well.

For those with Xfinity still, voice capabilities have been great so far. I’ve only been using it since yesterday morning, but hasn’t missed a beat yet. The wife is much happier now with the Halo.

Another issue with voice control is location awareness. Without this, voice becomes a lot less useful. "Open the shades" or "dim the lights" becomes pretty useless if you have to say "dim the lights in [insert name of room that people don't know the name of]" Josh's solution is "no problem, buy 20 Nanos and pre-wire before you build your house!," but, if you're using a Halo button (or my dream of "always listening when in cradle"), C4 always knows the room you're in because YOU TELL IT what room you want to control ahead of time--- and yet you can still move it around to different rooms (no drywall work required for clean deployment). I think this is a key point.

I appreciate those vocal for the voice control side, and realize that I've probably discounted it's general usefulness for control.
I think if Josh were not 3rd party, I'd likely use it somewhat more than I've used Alexa, although it's set up.

For sure. As Elon likes to say "All user input is error." But, OTOH, you can only automate default preferences/behaviors (including default actions based on (non-voice) sensors). You can't automate based on dynamic preferences. Sometimes you want the lights at a level different than the automated default. If you find yourself consistently overriding defaults (with voice or with clicks), you should update the automations. But you can't automate everything and using voice to over-ride is often faster and more convenient than walking to T4 or KP or pulling out your phone. I'm never going to rip out my KPs or delete the C4 app, but having voice as an option seems to me unambiguously good (cost aside). Whether having this alternate mode of control is "worth it," is a personal preference.
Ironically, in my limited implementation of voice controls, the biggest "problem" is setting expectations with family and guests about the scope and depth of voice controls. You demo some things you can do and they think they can use voice for EVERYTHING, creating frustration.
