All Control4 certified drivers require local IP control so yes its local.

The amazing thing is how quick Siri is in recognising / actioning the voice request ….. and obviously the flexibility that you can actually to anything which is connected into C4 so easily.  

Glad everyone’s liking it.  We actually developed it for a generic inbound web server but a side effect was that it worked with Siri Shortcuts.
I use it for a quick all off, opening and closing garage doors and quick HVAC Cool/Heat/Off

Haven't tested the others.  It likely will work though.  If you have the bulbs already then i recommend you try it out using our 90 day trial.

For me, it only working locally is part of the beauty, as I like the security inherent with this. Another super reliable driver from your team - thanks @alanchow!

Yep for those who haven’t done it before we have a guide on how to do it on our website.  Only limitation is they it will only work on your own network (unless you port forward which we don’t recommend).

Old topic but i created a completely universal driver for Optoma projectors with bi-directional control and feedback via IP and RS232.  Tested on multiple projectors and it works so well.

I use the Generic TCP Command driver from Chowmain for this. Works great with native iOS Shortcuts -- see below -- (which links to Siri, though I don't use that).
 

Correct you can’t get status from the tcp driver and Siri Shortcuts.  
homebridge might work a bit better but I just use the tcp driver myself.  Works like a champ. 

I can’t say if it’ll differentiate between monkeys and humans.  It’s best to reach out to Hikvision about that question.
What I can tell you is that all smart events regardless of models are imported into Control4

An infinite amount of Presets/Macros can be setup by the dealer to suit the customer’s lifestyle and Control4 system.  For example you can create Sprinklers On and Sprinklers Off presets or for a commercial job they can setup a shop open and shop close schedule.

Can you give us some examples of how we could use this driver?
The driver has the ability to automatically send notifications on warnings and errors. This makes it easily for integrators to proactively service their customers when the projector is due for a bulb change or requires immediate attention. On projectors that have lens memory you can recall these lens memory positions via the driver's programming commands. This is extremely useful if you combine it with something like the Chowmain Kaleidescape driver which can provide you with the aspect ratio feedback of the movie. Automate lens positions to suit the movie you are watching to ensure that 235 movies fit the screen perfectly without manual intervention! Have the screen blank or lens closed until certain conditions, like theatre curtains being fully opened, are met Custom button programming to change the 3D sync setting of the projector or have the projector automatically set a 3D sync option depending on the source Dynamically set the color temperature and picture modes depending on the input source What hardware will this work on?
This driver utilises the currently available settings from the Epson universal API. Current and future projectors that adhere to this API will work with this driver.
