  1. To my knowledge and to at least 3 system integrators we talked to that doesn't exist. Best current choice is going KNX route, as I said lots of choice there. If you put KNX cable everywhere you can also pit cat6 along that and switch later if anything ever comes out.
  2. Doing cat6 or 6 cables to most location is certainly a good idea if re-cabling the house is done. When it comes to lighting and keypads there is not that much choice at the higher end (Lower end there is ZWave). The largest choice of those is KNX, from Glas Touch OLED keypads to futuristic ones like from Basalte - I have seen ones from 80€all up to over 1000€ per piece. Going KNX will also require re routing power cables for lights (like structured wiring) , so this isn't an easy task - and KNX only works with KNX cable, you will not find an installer doing KNX over a Cat6 cable even though it technically is possible (we tried for the same reason) To my knowledge there are no keypads controlled by Cat6 cables and since the largest standard is KNX, which can do pretty much anything, there is no need for cat based controls. Mesh based wireless devices are really really good, not comparable to WiFi which has dropouts etc... The Control4 ones are really high quality hardware and work really well - only downside is the looks. Bottoms line: Largest variety: KNX If looks of Control4 is OK, go with Control4 keypads and dimmers and amybe some touchscreens via Cat6 (if u have a Control4 system and intend to keep it) Q: What is the point of using Fibre optic cables at home? They have a higher overall latency than copper on shorter lengths and aren't as durable when it comes to corners /bends As long as you don't need more than 20gbs there is no need for Fibre optics
  3. Disadvantages of Kaleidescape and Zapiti is that for LiveTV one need an extra set top box. Kodi can handle that as well, that's why I still use Kodi even though Kodi sometimes has bugs, but overall I would say it's pretty solid
  4. I am still using Kodi in conjunction with Emby server. It just works for years now, Emby server never crashed once and is easy to use. It always supsrises me that I seem to be the only one using it here...
  5. I am pretty sure there is a way via custom button or so - l will take a look tmrw
  6. Uh, I never noticed a difference between Kodi versions and skins in terms of remote buttons functionality - but ok
  7. That the intended behavior. The driver uses JSON RPC to communicate. To bring up the menu to select language, video option during playback you need to setup custom buttons for the Neeo. Actually the Neeo is not a good remote for DVR and Kodi so CE it does not have e ough physical buttons - on a real remote I can use the keys I need for daily use with my eyes closed - that is impossible with the Neeo because I have to look at the screen - the Neeo in general is a failed product imo
  8. I will. If that's the case it's a bug that need fixing and not an IR workaround
  9. There is nothing better than IP Control4 via the Kodi paid driver. I use FLIRC USB on conjunction with Control4 to control MPC classic for HDR - it works OK and it can if course be used for Kodi as well but IP is like a million times better
  10. Ev is dead for along time. I wouldn't expect Control4 to fix all of the EV drivers, that's just not gonna happen. So just an idea: Why doesn't someone write a driver for Emby? - has a great web interface with Metadata identification and all - it can provide full smb file paths, so it should be possible to use Emby Metadata in Control4 and push the SMB path to dune or whatever for playback
  11. Doesn't, but maybe the new faceplate will only work with OS 3.2 [emoji28] - nah, I just posted because there was talk about ISE2020
  12. What control badly needs for Europe are: different mounting mechanisms / adapter for standard faceplate (System 55/50) with color matching keypads for the lineup keypads, dimmers and switches - yeah and a price drop to 200-220€ for the dimmer. Otherwise they'll never compete with KNX installations. But I am sure that I'll be disappointed again at ISE and will probably die I of age before that ever happens...
  13. Sorry I missed that. There was an update last couple of months which should have resolved the programming issues with profiles. However I didn't have the time to test yet.
  14. Is tahome the same protocol as IO Homecontrol?
  15. As far as I know there is no way to integrate any IO homecontrol devices and sadly this is somfys new wireless technology.
  16. And in 20 years we will have enough 8k content to justify the 8k TV [emoji16]
  17. The Sony is the enxt goof option ans the image processing is superior to LGs
  18. Definitely OLED. I have a Panasonic oled and the picture is superb, much better than the LG counterpart. The other option is Sony OLED. Bot, Panasonic and Sony offer Control4 IP control which works great on my Panasonic
  19. Well with such a FW state they have no choice. No thermostats, incomplete security menuy, no search..... It's an absolute beta WIP FW
  20. Hue is no real solution because : Control4 doesn't detect changes done via Hue apps - Hue needs 2way communication Hue bridge/FW doesn't detect if bulbs are switched on/off via hard wired light switches Those 2 point makes the use of Hue bulbs challenging at best. Both can be fixed by using a phoscon gateway instead of the Hue bridge but there is no Control4 driver working with the phoscon gateway - it's similar to the Hue bridge but not identical
  21. And I will never be [emoji1787]. I was referring to a real public beta like Msft Insider program or similar
