I’m trying to add the Pentair Intellicenter driver for the pool we’re nearing completion on, but it errors out and says it can’t add the driver to the project. Looks like the driver was updated in October of 2019. Anyone know why the driver won’t install? Is the integration not worthwhile?

I kind of hate to ask, but I'm dying to see. Can you take a picture of "your side of the bed" and share? I cannot imagine what 17 light switches next to a bed look like. Are they stacked like 4 different 4 gang boxes one on top of each other? Like a cube? A bunch of boxes side by side in a row?

You should! If you end up not liking it, they seem to bring great resale value used. It’s quite a different experience than the other remotes, so I’d encourage you to spend some time with it before coming to judgement. Leverage the remote focused buttons and favorites.

I think it needs to be done through a dealer.

Your card access sensor does do light level detection.

In fact, thinking through this, I’d be shocked if this passed inspection. Lights are a life and safety thing. I can’t imagine an inspector just being okay hearing “oh, those will work later after we get a chance to install the controller and program them”.

70+ PoE connections? Sounds awesome! I’m curious what you’re doing that is occupying all those. Likely cheaper to get big switches and mid-span PoE injectors but you’ll have to do that math. 

In my experience, his comment about needing additional wiring isn't accurate.
That said, as someone who has wired several homes I've built and finished a few basements, I can tell you that I can wire regular light switches a hell of a lot faster than Control4 ones. The Control4 ones require more thought, the use of wire nuts takes more time, as does trying to crunch everything in to the box.
If I were an electrician I would charge more to install Control4 lighting than regular. This is just based on time, as for me it's absolutely slower going.

My guess is it's some sort of sales promotion, rebate program, etc... and not a product announcement.

Apple does support direct app launching via the Apple Shortcuts app. Someone could reverse engineer this and provide mini apps. I’d try, but it’s enough outside my comfortable skill set that it would take more time than I’ve got at the moment.

I did have a local shop install them. I got the 9 that you see in the video, along with 3 others. 2 of the 3 others are roughly twice as wide as each the ones you see here. The 3rd is about the same. I got the 12 shades, 2 Somfy MyLink units, the somfy remote and installation for about $5.4k.

I was setting up a few new shortcuts in the Apple Shortcuts app, and I found (and verified) that in this app I can create a button to launch a specific app on AppleTV. Anyone up for a little reverse engineering and getting us a Mini App driver for ATV?

But THEIR DEVICES still worked. That’s what I’m saying - this is an app FROM APPLE. 

Sweet! I hear you on the engraving...I’m finally getting ready to order mine after 3 months. 

I use this for Subwoofer amps where I’m not super worried about it taking an extra second or two to turn on. The 12V trigger is slightly more work, but is better.
