  1. There's a pinhole button that will do the same thing. Just press and hold and the screen will tell you that it is doing a factory reset.
  2. Restore factory settings in the menu. You may need to recreate the network settings afterward to reconnect to your network.
  3. Harmony remotes are designed to stay in one room, where BT range isn't an issue. Control4 remotes are not. Plus, Harmony assumes all your equipment is in that room, again, negating the BT range issue. In Control4, you frequently have sources in a centralized location or in multiple locations. BT range is a deal breaker for everything but static one-room solutions.
  4. IR can be extended across cat5 a long ways. Done it many times. BT cannot. BT also conflicts with BOTH WiFi and ZigBee for 2.4 Ghz communications.
  5. BT in the WMB had range limitations, and that box didn't have other wireless radios in close proximity. It would be worse in a controller.
  6. After initial setup, you can tailor it yourself with Composer HE or When >> Then.
  7. It's possible for a single port to have issues on the switch, but it's more often cabling/baluns that go bad.
  8. It absolutely sounds like it could be the cable in the wall. Do not rule it out.
  9. Try to switch the balun. That's an easy troubleshooting step that won't cause any issues. It's 50% an issue with the balun or an issue with the Cat 6 in the wall/bad termination/etc.
  10. No. Nest hasn't become a C4 competitor. Homekit hasn't become a C4 competitor. Smartthings hasn't become a C4 competitor. Alexa won't be a C4 competitor. None of these large companies want to invest in the type of dealer channel and deep knowledge that REAL home automation requires.
  11. Nothing on TIDAL's site says that they offer better than CD quality. MQA is just another compression format, it's not > CD quality. TIDAL themselves say they deliver lossless, CD-quality FLAC files. The HC-800 supports 44.1k/16b, which is CD quality.
  12. Streaming audio is not high-res. There are no supported streaming services that stream at better than CD-quality audio (and very few that even exist overall). The HC800 will stream audio just fine-it will stream multiple feeds just fine. The thing that you miss from an EA controller is a better signal-to-noise ratio in regards to converting the audio. You might actually hear that in your setup because with the new 8-zone amp and the R28s, you have high SNRs on those products.
  13. That's a very easy way to do this. Lots of people do that exact thing with the ShairBridge driver.
  14. It hasn't cost Control4 ANY market share, because Control4 is growing its market share. What exactly was Control4's 'history of industry innovation'? I'm about the biggest C4 fan out there, but it's not C4's role to INNOVATE. It is not an innovation company, it's a company that delivers a solid product, at a solid price, with minimal hassle. It's the ball-peen hammer in your toolbox, not the hypersonic escrewdriver.
  15. This means the AMS is not talking to Director. Might be a network issue, might be a problem with the AMS, might not be identified correctly.
  16. sharing from Windows has a lot of issues, and there's no good resolution. if you can get your music on a USB or NAS, that's the best solution.
  17. I have purchased a Pi Zero from this site before - https://www.adafruit.com/ Reasonable prices and shipping costs. If they're actually in stock is another matter.
  18. Agreed. I would love to see Alexa built into the C4 touch screens.
  19. IR control is never 100% reliable. So... if you're basing a solution off whether it's 100% reliable, then this is not a 'better way'.
