I used these in another lighting panel.

In fact the transformers and drivers are in the panel.

Depends on the decoders that you use.  Each decoder has a certain Amp rating that its been tested to.
The PX24500 is rated for 5A per channel.  So you have up to 5A per red, green and blue channels.  No more than 15A load total on a single PX decoder.
It also depends on what your ratings are for the lights that you drive.  You can't really give a blanket statement of "it will drive X amount of strips."
Unfortunately, math does get involved when designing these systems.

I'm heavily considering using this solution for outdoor landscape lighting.  However, like RobbieF, I'd love some real world examples.  Everything I can find on the Internet is stage/DJ lighting or large commercial installations. There's so many lights out there, with a huge range of pricing from cheap to horribly expensive - I'm just scared to take the risk on a large investment to never get it "right".
Does anyone have any photos or links to products where DMX has been used for residential landscape lighting?
    Thanks!

DMX is not only RGB lights, it can be every single light in a house. We have done many whole house all with low voltage lighting driven by DMX, the house lighting does look pretty standard but in fact there is many thing we were able to achieve with low-voltage that would not be possible with 120v, like miniature downlight, cabinet light panel, custom chandelier, indirect linear light and more... Look at any designer catalog and every single room you'll see can be lit with low voltage and achieve a unique, yet cost effective lighting that can be controlled easily using DMX and some C4 keypads.

This works with the free C4 / formerly EV driver.

The health warning that comes with is the faders etc are all driven from the HC / EA directory processor so are a little more choppy and less silky smooth.

No the only compatible interface is the RS-232 DMX Engine from Engineering Solutions. Available at Houselogix or response-box.com websites.

If its configured properly, there shouldn't be any issues.  Constant tinkering with the DS2 is usually the cause of this.  There's KB articles for dealers how to set up and troubleshoot.  The DS2 is consistent once set up right.  After that, "No Touchie!"

RobbieF reacted to RyanE in Samsung Frame TV - IP Driver
Art Mode functionality was not implemented in the initial released version of the driver (which was for all 50ish models in Samsung's 2017 line, not just the Frame TVs).
Work for Art Mode is done, and the drivers are in testing.
Once they've finished testing them, they'll be released to Control4's online database.
The Art Mode support will include a new 'mini-app', which would need to be installed, called 'Art Mode', which allows you to start Art Mode from Control4 Navigators or programming, by selecting it as a source (like the Netflix, YouTube, etc. mini-apps).
The LS003 drivers will have a new property, called 'On Power Off', which can be set to 'Power Off', or 'Art Mode'.  When set to 'Power Off', it works as it currently does, when the driver gets a Room Off, it will power off.
When 'On Power Off' is set to 'Art Mode' and a Room Off is issued, the TV will switch to Art Mode.  If Room Off is issued while the TV is in Art Mode, it will power off the TV.
I apologize that this didn't make it into the initial driver release, but it should be released in the next couple of weeks.

I have done both and the MyQ solution is mediocre at best. Your wayy better off get get a z2io and nyce tilt. I have had service calls on MyQ. Its not that reliable.

Another cool benefit of doing it this way is you would also get temperature and humidity readout on your C4 navigators. Not that you would want humidity but knowing the temperature in the garage is handy for sure.
Make sure you program them to send a notification if left open for 10 minutes and automatically close if left open for 30.

Valid points that made me re-examine my goals here.  However, they are still valid because:
    1) I hate the remote clipped to the visor.  Hate it even more buried in the car somewhere.
    2) My newfangled openers aren't compatible with the HomeLink transmitters in any of my cars.
    3) Ergo, due to 1 and 2, I have to buy some kind of box anyway, even if it's just the HomeLink adapter.
    4) My wife is OCD about the garage doors being shut at night
    5) I frequently tell my wife that they are shut, even though I'm not sure, because I don't want to get out of bed to check.
    6) Ergo, due to 4 and 5, a green light on a wall keypad visible from the bed, would be a huge plus.
Thanks for making me think, though!

RobbieF reacted to Joshua Pressnell in Homebridge Driver for HomeKit Support?
Sadly, not yet. It took me a while to get things straightened out to support more than 100 devices on a single appliance box, and I needed to get that worked out first. After that, it's thermostat support, as a few folks are waiting on that for purchase. Then I should be able to get the docker image out.

My solution functions as a bridge between Apple's HomeKit ecosystem and Control4, making many of your Control4 devices accessible via HomeKit (lights, dimmers, fans, garage doors, door locks, security systems if they use the new proxy, custom programming, etc).  I'll soon be adding blinds and thermostats as well.  With the solution in-place, you can access your home via HomeKit and make use of all the HomeKit features, which include (if you have an iPad or Apple TV 4 at home) using the home hub feature to access your home from anywhere, without 4Sight, using HomeKit from the lock screen or control center, controlling your home via the Home app, configuring scenes that are accessible via force touch on the home app, triggering scenes when iOS detects you've arrived or left home (more reliable than other geo-location methods), and control of the home via Siri voice commands, including from an Apple Watch, iPhone, or Apple TV.  With HomeKit, you can also configure notifications to your phone for most devices, so you can be notified when the security system is armed or alarms, or when the front door opens and closes.  You can also configure "device groups" that can be controlled together by name.  In my view, this feature is a must-have if you're an Apple-based household.  Using Control4 is much more natural when you do it the way the operating system was designed to do it.  My solution doesn't involve any remote cloud services, so controlling the system is generally about as responsive and fast as if you were using the Control4 app to do it.
You will need *a* dealer to install the driver, but this can be done remotely.  With my solution, there is no complex programming required, so the process of installing the driver for you should only take a couple of minutes and then you're done.  From that point, everything can be managed by you without doing anything in Control4's setup.
There are two parts to the system, the Control4 driver and the homebridge hardware.  If you're technically minded, you can create your own homebridge setup.  Homebridge and my control4 plugin for homebridge are open source, so it's *possible* to get that part of the setup completely free, but you need to know a fair bit about IT to be successful with that.  I also provide a pre-built and pre-configured hardware device that's pretty much "plug and play".  You plug it in, follow the instructions, and you'll be setup and working with HomeKit in just a few minutes.  The driver is $175.  The hardware device is $225, if you buy it from me ready-to-go.

We are proud to announce the release of the version 2.0 of our Advanced DMX solution for Control4!
This version was aimed as a minor update over the existing product  but it ends up a complete rebuild with tons of added features.
The new version require an updated firmware for the RS-232 DMX Engine that allow 100fps silky smooth fades, faster data rate, new commands set and many code optimization. This firmware is needed for the version 2.0 of the driver to work. We provide the firmware at no charge with the driver download package at Houselogix.
    Overview of the new features:
New code base, lot of optimization Recovery function to get the DMX Engine back online as quickly as possible in case of outage. it also restore the last light state Full scene support through the Advanced Lighting Agent will built-in backup to avoid scenes to stop working on controller reboot Smoother fade, really smooth, you won't believe. New group dimmer for RGB or Single lights Better RGBW support on all RGB drivers Effect Switch entirely redone with new effects and full customization over ALL effects Easy custom color setup through the new Color Picker proxy in OS 2.9:
Eight base effects with full customization, for a thousand of possible effect variations:

Custom Colors available to ALL Effects:

A brand new ColorPicker interface for TouchScreen. You can now easily change the color of your lights using an simple Color Wheel or Color Chart on your touch screen or mobile devices:

Best of all, upgrade to version 2.0 is free for everyone who purchased version 1.x. Houselogix online code will continue to work, however if you're using the Offline code, you will need to send us and email with you actual code to have it upgraded to support the version 2.0. Please note that since it's a complete rebuild, you can't perform direct update over existing DMX driver from our previous driver version, you will need to start from scratch with v2.0.
Also included in this release, an experimental driver called DMX Sequencer, it allow the use of multiple effects sequentially, triggered by timer or music. For those who liked the past Sound-to-light feature, you will like this driver. It is release as experimental because although it worked well in our lab, we think this kind of driver will need some fine tuning based on customer feedback so we want to hear from you guys!
The driver is available right now at Houselogix. If you have any questions about this product, you can post right on the forum, I always monitor this thread.

documenting this is tedious.. i've come up with a few examples of how you can use the IFTTT driver with Control4 but will add more as i go along with the documentation.
    EXAMPLES
    Outbound (Control4 > IFTTT)

Control4 can send SMS’s via your Android phone (IF app must be downloaded to the phone) Control4 can save data about the events in your home in google docs or dropbox. Control4 can send emails out without 4sight or 3rd party driver Control4 can send push notifications out without 4sight or 3rd party driver (using pushalot, pushbullet or pushover) Control4 can send Skype messages Control4 can send Google Glass notifications (with Message, Image URL and URL fields). Control4 can send notifications to your Android wear device (requires IF app installed). Control4 can send your BMW (Connected Drive Compatible) a message on your car’s front screen display (120 characters limited) Control4 can send your Tesla (EVE enabled) a message (with subject, message and message type fields) on your car’s dashboard Control4 can turn on or off your GE Smart Appliance and more. Control4 can tell your Android phone to turn on/off Bluetooth or wifi (might be useful when you’re leaving or coming back home). Tell the world via Facebook what your home is upto (might not be a good idea).

    Inbound (IFTTT < Control4)

Amazon Alexa (Amazon Echo, Tap, etc) can send commands to Control4 via voice recognition to do things like turn lights on, play music, house off and more. Assissant.ai can send commands to Control4 via voice recognition Control4 can read out stock prices or notify you when they raise or lower (requires Chowmain Advanced Announcements Driver) iOS Location and Android Location (via the IF app) can tell Control4 when you are approaching or leaving home. Your BMW (Connected Drive Compatible) can tell Control4 when it is entering or exiting an area. Your EVE enabled Tesla car can tell Control4 when it has arrived home, is leaving home or on the way home. Your Automatic, Zubie or Dash enabled car can tell Conrol4 when you have turned the car on or off within a certain area. Your GE, LG and Samsung Smart appliances can tell Control4 when it has been turned on, off, if for example an oven timer is done, if there is a leak in the dishwasher, if the filter needs cleaning, if the dryer cycle has finished, if the fridge door has been left open for too long, Your Nest Protect smoke alarm can send Control4 smoke emergency, warning and carbon monoxide emergencies Your Netatmo Welcome can tell Control4 when a specific person, known person or even an unknown person has been seen or arrives home (facial recognition) Your Roost Smart Battery can tell Control4 (via the announcement agent) when its battery is low (Great for smoke alarms). If the temperature (via weather forecast/conditions) changes in your area tell Control4 to do something. Your Android phone can tell Control4 when it has connected or disconnected to/from a specific Wifi network

Please excuse my ignorance on this subject, but I'm looking at LED strip lighting for my pool area, in particular to light up a waterfall and have no experience with this type of lighting.

I have a few questions I am hoping you guys can help with.

    Please confirm/comment on the following:
    1. DMX controller will sit in my rack plugged into the HC800 via RS232 ?
    2. Controller will connect to 1st decoder via a DMX to RJ45 cable ?
2a. I am assuming runs of cat6 cable from the DMX controller to the DMX decoder can be reasonably long ie: 50-60 mtrs will be no issue ?
2b. 2nd decoder will be daisy chained to 1st decoder, and so on...
    3. Decoder will be mounted close to the LED strip outdoors, most likely in a weather proof enclosure ?
    4. DMX controller, via C4 interface, will be able to control each DMX decoder independently ?

    Cheers.

And the Script to make all of the icons is this one:

In order to use this, all you need to do is open Photoshop (I was using CS5); and go to:
File --> Scripts --> Browse, and Browse to the location of the script.
It will then prompt you to Open your Pre-prepaired Square PNG (Min size 140x140)
Choose the Location to save the output
    Done!
    Create Control4 Icons.jsx

So I made 5 Amazon FireTV Mini Drivers that I couldn't find; these being:
    Kodi (Sideloaded onto my FireTV)
    ITV Hub
    Demand 5
    Red Bulll TV
    BBC News
I was surprised at how easy it was.  I also customised a photoshop script I found online that at the click of a button will take any square PNG file (More than 140x140), and create the experience*.png and device_*.png files for your project.  This essentially means that you can make a driver in under 5 mins (Including figuring out the App ID, and finding an image online.

What is the best way to share these - Should anyone want them?
