sounds like something is not configured correctly either. the matrix is not down mixing the audio to the triad you would just get a bunch of buzzing. May need to check whats its settings are setup.

there is a known issue with some of the c4 matrices. Contact your josh support or dealer to get updated versions.

serial ports are pretty straightforward forward it's either wired correctly and works or it's wired null and needs to be switched. If you are using the combo ports as stated they can be toggle either way.

Word of caution for anyone with out access to pro. Do not factory reset a c4 device unless you can get ahold of a dealer to set it up correctly. Many c4 devices will lose all or many of their functions and will not work until configured again. This situation would have been difficult due the overheating but may have loss some critical troubleshooting information and not know what the device was doing if it was even communicating to the network at all. A safe bet is just to do a network reset assuming the device is not wifi connected. Even then this could cause issues depending on the setup and networking configuration.

it may be overheating. I have a few bulbs with this issue and they are significantly hotter than the other bulbs. It will be time to replace them soon. I do have mine on APD and KD set to 100% and no ramp times and other than these two failures they have been fine for nearly 8 years. I have other dimmable leds that have failed before the hue have. Unfortunately the true smart with the better interfaces all seem to be cloud-based. I would like to think I could make the C4 T-stat smarter and better than those brands but it will take a lot of programming. If I cared more about my privacy C4 would be the way to go to keep your information private and not give everything to our tech overlords.

its a common error. try rebooting everything. If that does not work may need the system manager to check the time on the main controller to see if it has drifted. Also Daylight savings may be an issue for this as well check that your clocks match on both.
