  1. in this configuration, it would not be possible. my personal use is always to listen to the volume and set it by ear. But also every interface I use gives me volume feedback so no need for it on screen if i need it for some other reason.
  2. Both of the lighting systems are standard lighting connections and can be easily retrofitted with any major lighting system out there. Maybe if you went all wireless lighting it would make you have less mechanical options but plenty of wireless solutions as well. What makes you think its would be hard to retrofit. And also lighting is simple essentially once its installed it nearly infinitely customizable on the consumer end with no dealer intervention needed so even if you got rid of control4 for the rest of the automation the lighting will still continue to work as it was orginally installed. My vote would also be for centralized lighting. its much more versatile and a cleaner look. It does cost but you save in other ways.
  3. Get directv stream. We install them locally and we can ship them as well. They are great boxes and will give you a traditional cable tv experience even letting you type in the channels numbers, and full guide functionality as well. We also can program it all in Control4 as well so as far as anyone is concerned they are using a regular directv box.
  4. just so it is clear someone forced an update. OS updates are done manually and need to be initiated by a dealer. I have not had an issue with my ds2 even on beta with this OS version. The last ditch effort is to delete the communication agent and readd it after a controller hard reboot.
  5. depending on how you are controlling the avr you could add a second one just for that zone. You can also use the analog input driver to make sure that the correct sources are routed. Beyond that you will want to contact tech support so they can check the project connections and give a second opinion

  7. I have not had really any issue with hue and c4 controlling both. all of my switches are some type of c4 dimmer so i tend to keep them on at 100% at unless i am not home. when away they are set to off and no hue lighting control is needed in that away state and it has worked well for me. Recently however i have one bulb in a fixture that has 3 and it will turn on again on its own to 100%. Haven't fully trouble shot it yet but it seems to be the bulb as it will turn on and even the hue app will take few moments to update that its back on. C4 also does not seen anything until the light reports in that its on and the c4 app changes to update. Need to swap it with another bulb and hope that will correct it.
  8. i second using the backlights on your keypads to indicate home modes or other things in the project. could do Text to speech announcements. could lock all of the doors. use hue lights and have them change colors. We actually just had a couple of videos on this topic. https://www.patreon.com/posts/77795209
  9. its automatic as long as all of the connections are made correctly. No need to do any programming.
  10. not a problem at all the core controllers have everything you would need. Keep in mind the EQ in the C4 navigators will not be avalaible in this configuration. You can still EQ from within composer. You can also use 12v trigger for the amp for power control as well. Just need to bind everything correctly and it will work as expected.
  11. neither of those is a professional solution that i could offer a guarantee, warranty, or make money on. If you want a diy solution that may work too but never heard of either of those companies.
  12. but you dont have to have an existing control4 system.
  13. you can cheaply add an audio zone with a dumb amp and speakers. You can add bluetooth to a zone. Once such use for me is I like to watch videos on my phone while in the spa. bluetooth audio lets me listen over the landscape audio.
  14. been using it at home for a while now. Its awesome to finally have chromecast integrated into control4.
  15. I don't know the exact number but control4 has a great beta program with very active dealers and control4 employees testing everything that they release as far as i know. However its not possible to test for every possible configuration and situation so things do slip through. This is the case with every product not limited to this industry. The neeo imo was a failure and at least for me C4 has taken care all our remotes that have had issues or helped with configurations to make it as reliable as it can be.
  16. interesting. This would need to be submitted as a bug or let c4 tech support know. T4's should have a similar experience to the android app. I do not have one in front of me to test with though.
  17. Should be a button on the top of the screen.
  18. also will need to the proper driver and connections so that you can even have the option to select that audio input.
  19. There is no limit on devices. The number of devices is an arbitrary figure that was created to make it simple to understand how powerful each processor is. The truth is it depends on the device the driver the features and the automation that is taking place at any give moment. Have something like the DLNA driver that has to access thousands of files will be more taxing than an ir driver to turn a tv on or off when the room is used. If you continued adding devices and updating the controller to the latest releases with even more features and speed to those features you will begin to see a degradation in performance. At that time it would be best to upgrade to another controller. However that does not mean the ea3 is going in the trash. It could remain as a secondary controller handling OSD, music or other IO duties. This will mean the new controller can have even more horsepower to operate the rest of the project.
  20. This would be something C4 tech support will need logs and more information on. If it is an issue with the device driver or firmware they will need a software fix not likely something that can be done from composer.
  21. came here to say get lutron. Its worth it for a product you want to install and forget about as long as you can.
  22. should be a button to update your composer to the latest version. with 3+ os system just keep composer updated to the latest setting
  23. Grid view is based on the Snapshot speed of the cameras and the navigator. They are doing a lot to allow the device viewing cameras to select speed and resolution.
