  1. Oh give me a break. Existing systems don’t stop working when an upgrade comes out. Lets think of HVAC as you suggest. When trane releases a more efficient furnace, do they let you upgrade your existing one to make it the same efficiency? No. When they come out with a WiFi smart thermostat, do they let you download an upgrade to give your thermostat the same features? No. You have to buy a new one.
  2. Isn’t the Ring elite like $500? No cutting required cause they’re all surface mounted beauties. Looks like you screwed a 3 musketeers bar to the side of your house. Are we talking the original C4 door stations? Those things gotta be pretty ancient.
  3. Some of these comments seem short sighted. It’s not like your devices stop working... You just can’t upgrade. We’re all in our lines of work to make money. Control 4 doesn’t charge for upgrades, but they should keep developing advancements so you guys can get new features for free using all of your same old garbage? Come on now. Ooohhh I want the latest and greatest. Cool. Pay for it. You think in 5 years Ring is going to be handing out free feature updates? I mean how many Rings doorbells are out now since the original? Isn’t the first one pretty much obsolete now? Aren’t the latest models different sizes and shapes from the original too?
  4. You need to take a closer look at your AVR. As stated above, I would bet your AVR isn’t capable of sending an analog out signal when you’re only using an hdmi input.

  6. How is the audio distributed? Check your end points. You may want to look into using the path setter driver.
  7. Seems kind of vulgar. “Get our of here and go C4 yourself!”
  8. “Blue light special, isle 10” Yeah, that’s about the last feature I’d make available to my wife.
  9. Every time this post comes up, the title drives me nuts.
  10. It’s a known issue. Ask your dealer to get you an RMA.
  11. FWIW Crestron discontinued it’s support for their Apple Watch app altogether last year. Apple made some back end changes, and Crestron said to hell with it.
  12. Is there an IR bud on the tv? Do you see it flash when the tv is powered on? Do you see it flash when you try and adjust the volume using the C4 remote?
  13. No changes to anything in your system? Almost sounds like a binding/end point issue.
  14. C4 switches are rated for use with motors. I believe up to 1/2 hp.
  15. Did the red light on the charging station turn on to indicate it was charging? Make sure the charging station has power and the remote was fully seated on it? You can also make sure the remote is set to charge by pressing List and selecting Settings - Config - scroll down to Recharge Station and make sure Yes is selected. All basic things you probably already checked.
  16. The C4 lithium battery is part of a recharging kit.... it’s rechargeable... Do you have the docking station?
  17. I wonder if you could swap out the driver for a 0-10 from meanwell and use a C4 0-10 dimmer. Not sure if you’re able to run the extra wiring at this point since you stated it had to be done by the push control.
  18. Look, you're using this forum all wrong... Let me help. The OP here had some zwave questions. He got some very helpful answers from some knowledgeable folks. You too can get all the info you can handle on any control4 product and just about any 3rd party product that integrates with control4, right here on this forum. However, people here don't work for control4. It's dealers, end users... and yes some control4 employees, but they're here on their own time and I'm sure cant speak officially for control4. So when you come here and say "Control4 should do this.." or "Why doesnt control4 do that...?" Honestly, most of us don't know... but if you ask a specific question, chances are you'll get a few pretty informed answers and opinions.
  19. Exactly. Which is why they’re not going to ‘issue updates’ and ‘keep you in the loop’. Theyre not going to provide instructions on how to integrate something that has to be done by a dealer to end users. They do provide this: https://www.control4.com/stashes/z-wave but as you can see, the good stuff is beyond in the dealer portal.
  20. Yes. Here is the official link to all the answers you seek on this : https://www.control4.com/dealer_locator
  21. If it’s a portable you have to do the pin method or hold down the power button method while it is docked to the charger. Other wise it’ll just turn the screen off. I’d call your dealer. It’ll most likely need to be returned.
  22. Eh, I’m not sure I agree exactly. Having a non-dimmable ballast on a dimmmer, even just going 0%-100% could definitely speed wear on the dimmer. Or likely the ballasts themselves. Especially an older dimmer, as I’m not sure how well they handle the inrush currents. That said, depending on use and the quality of ballasts, could work fine for years. I just wouldn’t be so keen to shrug it off with the price of a dimmer being what it is.
  23. That’s a dimmer. It could be toast. I would try it using all incandescent bulbs in the fixtures. Making sure no led or compact fluorescent bulbs are installed on that dimmer. Also, if you grab the little tab where the top led is, it slides up. It’s an air gap switch. It’ll kill the lights, I’d do that when changing bulbs.
