Topfox got a reaction from msgreenf in LU1082D - FIOS No Video on 2 New TVs
Fixed it. I put all the cable box in a Edid group on the matrix and now it works. This also seems to have fixed some volume issues I was having on other TVs when I was using the cable boxes.

    Scenario:
Have 9 ceiling fans with lights, and they all have remotes. Some are original manufacturer, some are generic on/off universal. All the them only have a single light switch, so from the switch you don’t have control over the fan vs the light. I had thought there really wasn’t anything I could do to integrate these into my system other than overall on/off by swapping the light switch, then having to use the remote to control if I wanted the fan and light on, etc.
    Forum to the rescue:
I browse the forum pretty often for new ideas. Saw an older thread talking about Bond, and figured I’d give the Bond Bridge a shot although I was worried the advertised 2.5k sq ft of coverage wouldn’t be enough for my home size. Got the Bridge last week for less than $100, got the Chowmain driver and now they are all integrated into my system and working perfectly!

Definitely wanted to advertise the success of the 2 items in combination in a large home. Time will tell if I have any connection issues or anything like that in the future, but as of right now I’m super excited these are now integrated.

Topfox got a reaction from ejn1 in Managing large coax installations
I have something like 28 coax drops in my house. All terminated/patched even though I only have 6 fios boxes in action. I used a Tough Jack’s patch plate in my networking cabinet and underneath of it I have a wood board that I mounted all the splitters to  in a hub spoke fashion. I actually measured out each split to ensure I was still within signal spec for Verizon. Worked out great.
I even had a FIOS guy tell me there was no way I was in spec and he would prove it to me. He put his tester on multiple ports and they all passed, he couldn’t believe it.
You can see the splitters in this photo, but you can get the idea.

Topfox got a reaction from Time2Jet in Ring versus Nest Doorbell
I have a Ring Elite at my call box on my front gate and a nest hello on my front door. I prefer the Ring hands down over the Nest. It definitely is much quicker for app launch not only connection to camera, and is actually still decently functional without the subscription. It also integrates directly with Alexa much better, which would make sense, but still nice since I have like 25 echos throughout my house.

I started with the Nest and then when I built my front gate I went with the Ring Elite because I could Ethernet POE to it (250ft run). Had I started the other way, I probably would have never tried the Nest, but started with Nest since everything inside my home is Nest (4 thermostats, I think like 10 Nest protects)

Topfox got a reaction from Matt Lowe in Room Off doesn’t Turn Off Projector
verified audio and video endpoints look correct. Added a Power Off to the Room Off routine. Will see if this continues to work for me. First test it worked, so guess this is fine for a workaround.

Topfox reacted to Cyknight in Which Hue driver to use in 2019?
Hue (and other 3rd party lighting) is apparently not truly supported in C4 Advanced Lighting anymore apparently. You have to program off of the scene vs having them in the scene.
Homeation/TheDriversLab had a driver, but I'm not even sure they're actively in the business anymore?

That said if you want a better interface for the RGB stuff:
